I'm starting the game up in the first time in forever, and I check out the tutorials in the launcher, and the first order of business is mouse acceleration- THANK YOU. It's not new news to me but I have met friends who say it's news to them.
Great set of tutorials, Im actually glad these are on youtube instead of ingame, the little in game text tutorials are nice and this is a great optional supplemental.
This was actually useful, I never thought of messing with the settings and some of these are really helpful. I've no idea why I didn't bother looking at them.
agreed, finally someone with some sense in them. noob is a spin on the word newbie and spelling it as newb has the bigger resemblance to the original word
I've been using a 30 dollar microsoft keyboard for over a year now and it works just as well as any $100+ 'gaming' keyboard would. As for a mouse, you should look at the Logitech G400, about $40. They're large enough for the whole hand and have two thumb buttons and sensitivity toggle buttons above and below the scrollwheel. It's also one of the few mice with a near-perfect sensor.
I feel so much better about my sensitivity now. Also, this game brought my system to its knees. Need low quality to maintain a frame rate over 30. Average at 60, plus or minus 15.
The mouse trick will be super usefull! I mean, the scroll down for the Medic tool is brillant, I hate pressing 3 each damn time to rez a friend. Great tutorial!
Personal pref but i use a gaming keyboard ( they can recognize more key presses at the same time, standard is like 3 keys at once where gaming is like 12)and a gaming mouse from razor the Hex for the better responce from the laser and buttons on side. i HIGHLY recomend wired, i find the wireless Bateries dont last as long as u would like them to. nothing worse then having fun gaming then having to stop to charge up.
anyway sensitivity depends on what kinda gun you're using, if you're sniping you can't have the same sensitivity as if you were doing close quarter combat. when sniping you need low sensitivity or your adjustments are going to be far too imprecise at extreme ranges
IMO the settings work well so I agree with point 1, I know who xfactor is so I agree with point 2 but about point 3: I wouldn't call typing it "newb" wrong since that's the origination of the word "noob". It's shortened from "newbie".
Absolutely love this video. I thought, like most videos i see, it was going to be another fruity guy talking too much or a video taking 2 minutes to explain "m" opens map. Instead it's a serious, aggressive player giving loads of good tips!
On Mouse Sensitivity, I would recommend finding a good setting on vehicles too (in the VR Training Room is good to do) so that they have the settings right and aren't flying all over the place and driving crazy :) i.e. All Mouse Sensitivity settings should be tweeked and verified for maximum game performance.
Np, i know the feeling, i had a crappy system too back when one of the Battlefield installments just came out and i wanted to play it so badly but i'd get usually less than 30 fps ingame. 4 years old Dell you say? If the CPU is at least a dual core and if you got 4 GB of RAM all you would need would be a video card. Might wanna ask advice on a PC oriented forum for more details, you don't necessarily need to spend more than 100-200 bucks.
6400dpi at one sensitivity setting will have same mouse speed as 400dpi with 16 times bigger sensitivity. 6400dpi will be less choppy. I'd say that 1200dpi is great for any normal use, 800 is "enough", 400 is not good enough. Everything over 1200 is just a number in my opinion, but there are a lot of people that would say you need the newest 7000dpi mouse for ultimate skillz. I have MX518@1200 and Imperator that I switch from 1200 in windows to 6400 in FPS games just because I can, lol.
_Very_ helpful video. Heck all of these tutorial videos are great. Thanks for making them. Although I had to laugh at the chat box saying 'What the ****, man?' on an official video. I suppose they are meant to prepare you for your online experience lol
F mouse acceleration, learn to play. It won't help you. On a side note I do love the TR's reflex sight having a serial number on it 0107. They use those numbers because they are the easyest to read on low resolution and fun fact the Star Trek Enterprise NCC-1701 was given that number back in the '60's for the Exact same reason so ppl could read it on the low res tv's of the day!
I don't need to change my sensitivity for sniping. But do you know how to change air craft controls in this so i dont need to keep the mouse moving to keep turning?
two quick questions one being how did you get that really cool HuD (heads up display) and for some reason I cant get my controller to set keybindings (it worked before but I haven't played in a while and I don't know if there was an update or something but its getting pretty annoying
I'm a recent PC convert and I want to know if its better to have a basic mouse and keyboard or a gaming mouse and Keyboard. Is there any reason to get them? aren't the gaming versions a lot more expensive? What is better wired or wireless? are gaming peripherals as complicated as they seem to be? and are there any that are actually comfortable to hold/use?
Actually "newb" is more accurate than "noob" because the first implies the person is "new" at something and therefor bad at is whereas if you don't already know what "noob" means then you would have know clue.
I take issue with the video title. "Basic" options for "basic" training? More like minor tweaking for pro players and those with OCD. Just default to the settings which are best for most players, rename your video to "advanced options explained", and put it at the end of the training video series instead of the beginning. Just my opinion, I've been wrong before. :)
Is there no actual tutorial within the actual game? I ask because I don't want to have to exit out of the game in order to figure what I am suppose to do?
There's no way around it, you need an upgrade. You probably have an unsupported video card, which means that it's either very low end or old, or both. Please bear in mind that this is one of the biggest MMO FPS games out there, nobody has tried this on such a huge scale and as such it will take a while until even new low end card can play this game. As such, for now, you would need current mid end hardware to run the game smoothly.
It might just be me which noticed, but at 1:30 some guy goes "the fuck man?" and the player that we're watching has a full clip and full reloads, Then at 1:42 he cuts it to a later time, and now he has 29 bullets, and that guy is no where to be seen,

Planetside 2 Ive Downloaded the game hoping for Enjoyment... Know what nevermind o so my computer is a Dell windows xp So it basicly sucks ass, I tried to play it with the video card driver of full and it still wont let me play what it wrong with it what do i have to do Please Reply back!
2:30 Glimpsing that guy messing up in the aircraft is making me laugh too hard.
😂😂😂
OOF.
Yesterday was my first time playing and I felt this guy. The first time I tried to fly, I crashed and blew up 😂

This is one of the best tutorials I have ever seen. Really great job!

Thank for these videos, they help a lot. Started playing planetside 2 in October 2017. Thinking of becoming member

xFactor is part of the rivaL clan, who've won countless game events over the years, particulaly battlefield, he knows what works for him.
You make some great videos man, thanks for he help. It's made getting into this game so much easier
I feel so much better about my sensitivity now.

This will help my game so much
HUD means, "Heads Up Display" and that is all the overlay information, like the map, ammo count, health, and so on.

I am so thankful that some people still recognize where that leetspeak perversion came from. :)

great tutorial. Its amazes me that free-to-play games like this one or tribes have a much better tutorials than 60$ games
ye its out now on the SOE site and steam
*downloading game*
Let's look at the tutorials.
*sees how many there are*
Oh boy, what a fun hour are we going to have.

Can I play this with a console controller ie Xbox with motionjoy?
Thanks Xfactor :D

That dude in Mosquito at 2:00 is a boss xD
That sounds like a good way to describe it.

2:00 look at the aircraft LOL
Nice tutorial. thanks
That Liberator off to the left
I couldn't stop laughing
the liberator at 2:00 teaches you how to be a deathly killer of auraxis

Downloading this in 2020 I hope its worth it.
helped me
lol at the pilot in the background :D
informative
Yes
I don't need to change my sensitivity for sniping.
But do you know how to change air craft controls in this so i dont need to keep the mouse moving to keep turning?
is there a way to create your own server, i suppose, so me and my friends can play on our own sever against each other?
two quick questions one being how did you get that really cool HuD (heads up display) and for some reason I cant get my controller to set keybindings (it worked before but I haven't played in a while and I don't know if there was an update or something but its getting pretty annoying

how do you use the power thing that your soldier has?????
where do you find it????
Just started playing PS2. Is there any ingame tutorials here?
is it ok if i download these basic training videos and make a korean subtitle for our community?
yea sure
Actually "newb" is more accurate than "noob" because the first implies the person is "new" at something and therefor bad at is whereas if you don't already know what "noob" means then you would have know clue.
that liberator
2:00 HEYOOOOO he said Sanctuary, now SOE has to add Sactuaries to the game, it's promised to the new players now. LOL :D
Good idea....melee with the press of the mouse wheel....Now i can easily melee now :D

You can map XBox controllers ingame. I would not recommend it however. KB/Mouse users will school you... repeatedly.
Is there no actual tutorial within the actual game? I ask because I don't want to have to exit out of the game in order to figure what I am suppose to do?
...and why exactly are raw mouse/reduced input lag not enabled by default?
1:40 in the chat window: "the fuck man"

Is the team of developers going to fix the bug and crashes?
What the hell is that guy over in the left corner doing?!
Becoming a ''precise killer''
Why when i just start playing planet side 2 when i wnat to get a ride then i press e to get in to their helicopter then they kicked me why?
How do you get that grenade launcher below your weapon?
Also, at 1:58, Shotgun not flying with him....
Anyone notice the flying vehicle crashing at 1:58?
To the left, *Ahem* 2:40, This is why i'm not in there.
1:32 "tha fuck man?" :)
i wish every game developer company does this
1. if this is how this guy prefers to play a game, then let him be.
2. he is not a noob, he won multiple BF3 gaming awards.
3. it is spelled ''noob''.
Do you need a gaming mouse to play Planetside 2. I'm a casual gamer and only play every now and then
You don't NEED a gaming mouse, and even if you had one, it wouldn't really make much of a difference for a casual player like you.
Actually, wouldn't the leetspeak version techinically be n00b?
its a free game and the devs are working round the clock to remove and permanently block hackers
What awards are those?
Will planetside2 be for mac
It might just be me which noticed, but at 1:30 some guy goes "the fuck man?" and the player that we're watching has a full clip and full reloads, Then at 1:42 he cuts it to a later time, and now he has 29 bullets, and that guy is no where to be seen,

Why cant I enable GPU Physics?
It's faded out

The guy on the left at 2:00 seems to be doing basic training to.

Can someone help me boost my fps im hovering around 14-18
IT'S SIMPLE!
CANT GET INTO THE SETTING ...HAVE NO IDEA WHT AI AM DOING WRONG
I agree with you, but the word "noob" actually orignates from the word "newbie" aka "newb".
Just saying.
yes but its said noob even if its more correct to use newb or newbie
Annnnnd he is then finished - 2:39
(My last comment was, if that wasn't clear, not to be taking seriously..I also screwed up ...it should have read 'commonly shorted to "newb"'
1:59 me flying
i prefer the world to revolve around me too.
