This looks like Halo and Battlefield put together. And it looks awesome!
Infiltrator + Light Assault= A Ninja.
Amen brother
All we really need up in this shit is the ability to use battle rifles on lightinfantry.
+CraftStarEntertainment done and done, backhand (I think that's what it's called)
Not really battle rifles, but you do have a point.
I've been a support medic, and I'm loving it. It's awesome knowing you're the backbone of the team.
Gotta love how OP the starting sniper is with NC, where the rest of us have to drop 100 cert points to get a good bolt action.
0:26 Heavy Assault
1:48 Infiltrator
2:22 Engineer
3:48 Light Assault
4:46 Combat Medic
6:03 MAX Unit
Combat Healer and Engineer. I love the massive xp from dropping ammo, and being able to repair friendly vehicles is nice.
You definitely can. In the bottom right corner of your menu screen you'll see "Settings". There, you can change general, audio, video and other settings. ^Valkyrie
I love the heavy assault class because of it's very good sustain.
Sometimes I also play the engineer.
this is amazing! a battlefield like game, free and in the future! thanks for the people that made this!
looks really impressive, thanks for the videos they are really helpful, already downloading it.
I didn't know rocket launchers could lock on to AA or AI...
You need a special one
Engineer, can't beat the ability to resupply whenever needed ;)
Amen
I was playing the game yesterday, just driving around looking for a fight, then I came upon a HUGE convoy of sunderers, lightnings, and every infantry class. There must have been at least a hundred people in it! It was a great battle.
Certifications are the in game currency. You can see how many you have next to your mini map, or on a special tab in the main menu. The symbol looks like an orange octagon with a squared corner. You can access the upgrades on that special certifications tab, or from links on the loadout screens for each class and vehicle.
I'm really new to it, and while I totally appreciate every minute of the 2 hours I've played, what is so special about it that you would say that? Pretty much everyone agrees with you but I personally think I need an introduction so that I can really appreciate this.
i used to play an engineer with a mosquito. There were times when i had insane killstreaks, but once the anti-air maxes and skyguards popped up into the scene it's damn near impossible to get involved in any kind of air warfare nowadays. Now i stick to tanks mostly.
I tend to play a bit of everything, depending on the situation. Engineer for tank driving, Medic for attack, Heavy Assault for defence and Infiltrator for a bit of fun. Only class I don't like is Light Assault which seems a bit weal.
Generally speaking:
If you...
...Want to be an amazing asset to your team even if you don't do so great shooting other people you should play Engineer or Medic
...Enjoy a more tactical approach to combat, assuring the outlaying areas of the field of battle are clear you should play Engineer or Infiltrator
...Are a FPS veteran and do well with high mobility and risk/reward type play-style you should play Medic or Light Assault
...Suck at everything FPS based and usually get caught with your pants round your ankles for doing stupid things you should play Heavy Assault
heavy assualt it is
heavy assault it is xD
+draconic33 sigh... must now go blow things up with heavy assault... *hangs head and walks opens planetside 2*
But then again.... i love engineer.... *skips happily to desktop and opens planetside 2*
Light Assault and Infiltrator are just personal classes. Little team play can be done with them. A good squad of medics, engis and heavies can accomplish anything.
Engineer or Combat Medic here. I'm definitely looking forward to supporting fellow players as we fight :D *Watches ally die* No no no, get back up so you can take more bullets for me!
Teamkilling makes firing less blatant. Also sometimes the enemies have shields in bases and LA is good at finding alternate routes and can get over walls. LA are made only for flanking and hit and run. A good placed C4 or a spray of bullets from behind or above can make all the difference in a close knit battle.
This game is not a rip off. It's an EVOLUTION of ALL shooters. Takes the best of every shooter I played and turned it up to a level they can't touch. How's 2000 players with tactical tools like colored smoke flares for leaders? Air land infantry. Big epic battles. Small tactical recon fights. Has it ALL.
engineer, the versatility is outstanding
Thank you for a nice and quick reference arkanesky.
So you have to think about what you're shooting at.
As for LA, I find its advantage is not the fact that it can fly around you, but the fact that you can quickly reach places the other classes can't.
Heavy Trooper looks like the Jack of All trades. Not master of anything, but a back-up if theres a lack of one. Im liking it.
I like the look of a vanu infiltrator :D Invisible & futuristic :3
medic is for me the most badass class,if there are 50 people in the same place DEAD OR ALIVE but injured they all get max health and eventually max shield
Every class but the MAX can heal themselves. Under the universal certifications are two kinds of medical kits (one for healing over time and one for a healing burst).
I like the combat medic! Support roles are rewarding and the medic is still lethal (yet survivable, as you can use the aoe heal when alone to recover hp in addition to the consumable kit)
Infiltrator, Engineer, Combat Medic and SLOTH
basically, i was always a huge fan of team based game. Planetside 2 brings this about, but in a giant new scale. the fact that you are able to play alongside 1999 other people is amazing to me. most other games promote being a lone wolf, and that is what makes planetside 2 unique. each class performs its own role, and all working together to achieve success. find a class that you like, stick with it, and i promise you will love it.
Nice! I needed a video like this!
I think the Light assault and heavy look the funnest followed by infiltrator. I havent played the game yet but it looks quite fun
infiltrator, heavy assault, and light assault are my style... sneak up and snipe the enemy, charge in head on, or flank from the high ground... i cant wait for it to finish installing!!!
Me to :3 89%
Ugh... 5.1%
Mostly medic or Engineer, only switching to Heavy assault to deal with pesky armour or air units. I do enjoy infiltrator too, love taking over enemy gun emplacements! But my sniping skills need a lot of work.
I enjoy using the infiltration class because I enjoy the stealth type gameplay.
Personally i think the NC Heavy Assault class is the best to start with. His starter gun, the GAUSS SAW is such an OP weapon. Just play on it, earn some certs and buy a compensator, reflex sight and a forward grip and you will see even more kills and certs come in. Just my two cents :)
leaving the medic the engineer and the max aside....I'm a fan of charging with a heavy, sniping snipers defending their base in open wide ground or wood, or infiltrate and flak enemies with my light assult what I like most, 'cause when you get the chance to be a badass mandalorian warrior, hell jeah you take it
Yep! It's free-to-play. No real restrictions other then cosmetics and a bit of a grind for the more pricey items.
You guys make every faction and class and vehicle look good! D: I can't choose now!
Engineer and Medic. Possibly a Mech or Heavy Assualt unit every now and then to put some pressure on the enemies.
Awesome! It's rivaLxfactor commentating this :D
Agreed, they are both great games, both having elements that differ each other. Halo is a great shooter that focuses on completing goals and great story line. Planet side 2 focuses on compelling game play,co-operation, and game attributes. Both are great, Halo being voted Shooter of 2012 and Planetside 2 being voted Game of the Year.
I play a Heavy Assault Unit, certed into maximum antitank action and midrange combat. Paid off for now.
I want to play them all but I have to say the Infiltrator looks like fun and heavy and light assault's might be my favorite's.
Medic is great for people who arent sharpshooters. I find myself being more of a help when I am able to revive my teammates and when necessary kill a few enemies
When I get this game, if I'm playing defense I'll be playing as an engineer with antivehicle turrents and some and anti armor mines, if they manage to make a push, I'll find a choke point at one objective and set up an anti infantry turrent after putting anti personnel mines near the other objectives.
On offense, I'll be playing an aerial engineer with a scythe fitted for air to ground combat.
Yeah I think I'm an engineer player.
I was deffeding that Bio lab in teh clip :D
@ElNazgir You need to open a equipment terminal to equip it, there is no MAX spawning. You may be thinking of alpha when you could do that from the deploy screen.
Engies are still needed in biolabs, as MAXs are needed for succesful biolab attack/defence.
Heavy Assault. Being able to take a lot more hits and take down everything in the game is awesome. Lack of support kinda sucks though.
Best game ever! The Devs did a great job!
actually after i watched this video i feel better , the had to get the video settings to the lowest possible , idk why because i can run high end games on normal . kinda weird but i'll get use to it
this guys makes everything look easy...
No, you have to calculate BD, and the sniper's view doesn't go very far. You can, however, upgrade the scope to make longer shots.
heavy assault can deal with anything , and the medic is the basic to sustaining the casualties that are always going to be there.
I think light assault would be pretty devastating when you have a smoke bomb, throw it in a building and shoot through a window when you are standing on a ledge with a infrared scope
This video was one of the reasons why I chose NC
light assault is the only class that doesn't need a vehicles. Many others may get stuck in hills and against enemy bases' walls .
First time in game:Using the Light Assault, going in stealthy dodging several enemy vehicles, getting into their and capturing it.
My story goes much differently, while defending Xenas on Amerish I went light assault and climbed the mountain at the front gate, then proceeded to start spotting all the enemy tanks that were shelling us from the tree line, helping us push them back and begin taking their forward base
Thanks I am downloading it right now.
Well played Sir....Well played indeed.
You were probably getting the fps rate of fire issue they had in beta. According to the devs, fps use to affect your actual rate of fire (server side, not what you saw), they suposedly fixed it (I would assume the fix would mean you get the rate of fire on server side that you see, which still may be slower than someone with much higher fps, but atleast it's not compounded now.)
Light Assault: Flying up to a window, tossing in a grenade, fly to the roof, enter and continue downstairs with ma shotgun taking out Heavy assault in cc with no prob whatsoever cause of my shotgun. love it.
No other game can deliver so massive and fun battles :)
I think I'll be using the light assault and the combat medic most. Not sure about the recon, but I guess I'll play with that a little later on...
TR combat medic. Support/assault. I roll in large squad defense or attack force and may be the only medic there at some points. iCard about the safety of team mates before my own and risk death even for those who are noobs. When everyone is up and rolling I can be a NC squad's worst nightmare.
Generally true if your evenly matched, fact is that the effectiveness of the standard shield depends on what its protecting you from. You can take a few shots more against a TR SAW but only a shot or two more from a NC SAW. I'm not disagreeing with you but in my experience I can pop the shield with full health and still get killed with a few shots like it never even helped.
CPU is what really helps as the game utilizes your CPU more then it does your GPU at the moment due to poor optimization that they are still working on.
I agree. Just the other day on black ops 2 I was killed by a mech suit and tea-bagged by a medic.
Correction from this special case.
Halo: CE came out in 2001, PS1 came out in 2003, Halo: 2 came out, and got popular.
Light assault of course I also look forward to working with my team
i usually use the light assault or engineer unless the situation calls for something else
never heard of it. ill check it out.
Infiltrator and medic are my best classes. I only go to the others if my outfit tells me to or I need to get a job done alone.
thanks for the video imma stick to upgrading one class
I'll be playing this over Christmas when i get a new computer :D
Either light assault, engineer or heavy assault for the bosses called Terran republic
Which faction were you? He was playing as NC, and I can tell you, their guns have REALLY high damage. They can be a real bastard to control, although a scope and laser sight can help a lot.
For a moment I miss read that as you praising the PS2 for its unrivaled visuals.
I wish it still had some features that ArmA 2 had, but it's amazing.
I love the engineer because i love using vehicles the most
RivaLxfactor
T is the knife button if you're looking for a form of melee combat. But you can not actually clock someone in the jaw.
definately infiltrator I like close stealth backstabbing and long distance headshots
It is not in open beta, it is released from 20/11. I can handle it but my Athlon 6000+ doesn't allow me to fight in larger battles (20+ soldiers) with more than 15-20 FPS. Which is pretty bad but I can also play on medium details cos sometimes it looks like it runs smoothier than on low details.
I love the look of the MAX
I wish that my pc could run this. :(
The first suggested response is SeaNanner's Derp trooper
I just died laughing...
no. upgrades do make your gun better. Its just the fact that there are only so many upgrades you can get that you have to pick which one. the original commenter might not have had ANY upgrades. It is also true that the NC have high damage hard to control guns.
Indeed he was!
i like the heavy assult because i deeply enjoy blowing stuff up but the infiltrator is best for my playstyle.
decisions decisions decisions...
Not really. I would recommend that you play all calsses though, dpending on the situation and your squads/platoons needs. It's always helpful to know how to use each class, just in case you need it ;)
My most favorite is Light Assualt. And my tactic is a secret.
Off topic: Anybody remember that fps Red alart Renegade?? It was a fail but this reminds me of that game only waaaayyy better
1. Light assault
2. Infiltrator
3. Medic
4. Engineer
5. Max
Just my opinion about characters, my list, don't judge me.
light assault, ultimate back raging and stealth killing class
Light assault is devastating with C4, use the jetpack to get behind enemy lines and blow up their sunderers or heavy tanks.
Combat Medic!!! kicking ass and healing comrades to keep the fight going!!! OOH RAH!! Victory is our Tradition!!!!
I like support - heal classes in games like Planetside 2
