I wish I had watched your very helpful video before I did my first contacts import into HubSpot! Your video is way better than any videos or help articles I found in HubSpot.
+Kevin Yeh so glad to hear that. Let us know if there are other topics we can cover! :)
Me too!
Hi, Thank you so much for always providing great tutorials! I would love to see a tutorial about cleaning data.
Hey there! did you check out the video about the deduping tool?
HubSpot Hacks No, I haven’t. Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll check it out!!
awesome vid, thanks!
+alex duran woo!
Hi, Ali. Thanks for these guides. Just wondering if deleting all contacts in HubSpot is preferable if I was to export all contacts to clean up the leads list? I will import the "cleaned up" contacts list afterwards. If I won't delete the original contacts in HubSpot, will importing the edited contacts list result in duplicates? Looking forward to some tips on this matter. Thanks!
Hey there! Good question. Duplicates and messy contacts are the worst! If you're wanting to clean up the contacts by adding missing information, yes, exporting and then reimporting will be a way to do this. When you add Contacts to HubSpot CRM, the system will deduplicate by email address. So, if they have a gmail address and then also a company address you may end up with duplicates. However you could use the deduping tool - here's the video on that: ua-cam.com/video/1DUabJ1s-ec/v-deo.html
A better way to do this may be to edit a subset of contacts at first (say 10) and then run this test on that sample list to determine the best course of action inside of your portal.
Hello! Really informative video! Is it possible with hubspot to list opportunities by value, location etc and then integrate that to a database that match these criteria? Thanks!
Hi - not sure what you mean by integrate it to a database?
Totally awesome info. - if i have selected data from my phone and i want to select the ones i have filtered can i migrate them all at once or is it one by one and also if i make a mistake how do I undo the migration if i have migrated 100s at once thanks 😊
You can import your contacts all at once by putting the data into a spreadsheet. Go to Contacts -> Import. Read the HubSpot Knowledge Base FAQs on Imports to answer the most common questions: knowledge.hubspot.com/crm-setup/import-frequently-asked-questions?KBOpenTab
Hi Ali, I wanted to ask which mic (model and company) are you using for capturing audio in this video. Your help will be highly appreciated thanks
Blue Snowball iCE USB Mic
Hi there - Great video and really insightful! One question: I have a contact that is the contact person for more than one companies - I know that Hubspot allows you to have only 1 company assigned per contact - do you have any workaround for this?
Currently you can only associate one contact with one company. However, there is a new feature currently in private beta that allows you to make up to 10 company associations with one contact. You can also create labels for these associations like Investor or Advisor. You need to request access to the beta by asking your HubSpot technical contact.
If I am importing a list of customers from the past into Hubspot (first time using a CRM), which Lifecycle Status would you select?
+Omar Quwaider depends on how you define “customer” (some people think of customers as only contacts who are currently active). So either customer, or evangelist if they’re a customer that’s not active but still have positive affinity about your company.
Would I use the multiple object import if I'm importing from Pipedrive and Salesforce?
You can use multiple objects if you are importing contacts, companies and deals at the same time from either Pipedrive, Salesforce, or any other CRM.
it seems like Hubspot will not read the csv headers and allow us to map. It seems like we would have to add the properties to Hubspot manually. we get csvs from many sources and some have a lot of variations or additional column data that we would want to keep. that would take up too much time to customize hubspot ea time. can hubspot read all the headers and allow us to manually select or deselect during the importing?
Hi, Joe! When importing, HubSpot will try to match the header rows if there is a close fit, otherwise you will have manually match it up to the property you want to use. You can also add a new property while in the import wizard! If the data isn't needed at all, you can choose to not import the column.
Hi, thanks for making the video! I have a question that I hope you can help with. Can I not put a business name in a spreatsheep and import as a contact? My contacts are from businesses to make B2B sales
+jameson murphy a business name would be a “company” and a person who works for that company who has an email under that domain would be a “contact”

Hi. How would I import a 'campaign' name to hubspot? For example lets say I create a campaign in Hubspot and I then export a list of customers to contact. I then contact a bunch of customers outside of hubspot and I then want to import a list of contact records and reference that campaign.
You can't add contacts to a campaign unless they have interacted with an asset that is part of a campaign in Hubspot. However, there is one small workaround - and that would be to upload those contacts, save them to a static list, and then associate that list with the campaign.
Hi,
That was a great video. However, if we have only contact numbers then how to import
Hi there - thanks for checking out HubSpot Hacks! To import to HubSpot have to have at least of of first name, last name, or email known. Otherwise, they can't be added through an import.
can you do a video on how to turn OFF 2 step authentication in HubSpot?
That's a great idea! We will add this to our list of future videos to work on. Thanks for the suggestion.
How hard is it to import from Infusionsoft to hubspot. How much do you lose?
That depends on how complex your Infusionsoft data is and what you want to import. Simple Strat can review your migration needs and suggest the best path to follow. Request a free HubSpot Consultation here: info.simplestrat.com/hubspot-consultation

The most important part I wanted to see was how to match an unmatched data column (chose or create a property) which you skipped 🤦♂
Hi Maha - I believe we covered this in our updated version of this video: ua-cam.com/video/jhuHXUBzDXs/v-deo.html
@@HubSpotHacks You do the exact same thing in that video too
@@mahasohona966 Well rats, sorry about that. We'll need to revisit this and see what needs to change in future videos. Thanks for the feedback.
@@HubSpotHacks no worries! Thanks
