Love the new Hogwarts, it looks so nice and especially at that scale. Id like to see LEGO do some similar models for Star Wars and LOTR. A microscale Jedi Temple or Minas Tirith would look incredible!

I feel like the Millenium Falcon 75375 is a similar idea but for a spaceship. There's a few other ships done at this scale but I don't own them. Still would be cool to see microscale Star Wars locations like you suggested.

@GamerErman2001 I actually just built 75375 the other day and totally agree, its a wonderful model with great details and proportions. The midi scale ships and dioramas have been such a breath of fresh air for Lego Star Wars over the last few years and im excited to see what comes out next year.

I loved this video and seeing all the models compared to each other, especially seeing the size differences. I’m very glad I didn’t get the biggest model cause of the price and the space it’ll take up. I preordered the 2023 version and so happy I did! It’s actually crazy seeing the size difference and how little space it takes up (which is a plus for me!)

I genuinely believe the newer set trumps over the big one, just because you actually get the whole castle with the surrounding water and landscape.

I have the big one, and it is amazing... with some lights it looks even better.

The 2023 one is winning over the 2018 one just a little bit because it's a more complete castle, that water looks amazing, and easier to display. the fact that there's no 'insides' doesn't bother me much, since even if I had the 2018 one, I'll see the back side very rarely since I"ll have to move around the whole thing to do so. The 2018's stained glass does make the castle part itself look better, and the fact that it's an absolute unit are its plus points for me.

It would be nice to see you compare all of the GREAT HALLS Lego has released. I really adore the newest one but wish the interior was just a little bit more detailed. I also love the stain glass element on the microscale and wish that was a part of the bigger set too

I think display wise, I will go with the 2023 set. Thanks for the video!

@@SwiftBricks I own all the castle parts from 2018-2020. Very cool, but as a whole Hogwarts display it's to large. (Only for Christmas it comes out :-) so... That new micro one... Can last whole year on a shelf in my living room. :-)
I wonder how it looks near the micro Diagon Alley. Can you show us, maybe?

I only bought one of those poly bags and now I'm regretting that.

  • @Beregorn88
    @Beregorn88 Рік тому +3

You can do much better than that with the polybag! If you go on rebrickable you can find free instructions using 6, 8 or 9 bags, depending on the scale, accuracy and amount of details you want

The more expensive set definitely trumps the others for the details but much more expensive and takes up a lot more room.

I really REALLY want the new castle. Its much more complete, aswell as a more manageable size (but still looks sizable). Its just, i already have the micro scale 2018 version.
And honesty, the parts of the castle the 2018 does have, are more detailed (obvously due to the larger scale) I dunno if it would be a good idea to purchase the new one. I could either, sell off my 2018 version. Or put it into storage?

I sold my 2018 one, bought this new one with it and now i still have €250 budget left to get myself the Diagon Alley or Rivendell set. Still considerate about it. 😅 i have 0 regrets for selling the 2018 one.

I've never cared for the 2018 Hogwarts set, because it isn't fit for purpose for any metric, be it completeness, accuracy, or portability.
The set only contains ~½ of the actual castle; although I get the exaggerated ratios of the Great Hall and Grand Tower house play features, they still make the set look cartoonish. Also, the rockwork looks bad both arrangement- and colour-wise; finally, unless you have a 1 m² space and a turntable base, it's difficult to display it and access the play features from the back.
The Hogwarts Castle & Grounds set, on the other hand, is such a gorgeous architectural model that is film accurate, covers 90%+ of the castle, comes with a shimmering Black Lake, and is sturdy and portable enough to carry with one hand.
As for the BYO Hogwarts GwP, I didn't even know it existed until a few days ago. Upon seeing the countless models the pieces can be built into, I promptly ordered 4 units on Amazon. I intend for this mini Hogwarts to sit on my work desk.
