Thanks for the info. I have been hand carding fleeces that I’m processing myself. I’m considering a drum carder, though I love hand carding. I feel like most of my time goes into separating the locks and preparing them for carding. Have you found the drum carder worth the investment when not blending colors. P.s. love the epic fails.
I have found the drum carder worth the investment. It depends on the fleece if I use it, but when I know it's what I want to use I'm sure glad I have it. ~Shiree
Your drum carder is making quite a lot of noise as you turn the drum. Is the noise coming from the packing brush (good) or are the teeth of the two drums gnashing together (not desirable)? If they are hitting one another they will need to be adjusted to avoid wear.
Thanks for the tips and the fun at the end, love the out-takes!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very nice. I'm thinking of getting the same drum carder. Thank you for demonstrating it, and I like your technique. The tool is called a doffer.
Thanks for the feedback and thank you for telling me the name of the tool. Enjoy your fiber art! ~Shiree
