Okay, so the question is never answered. I decided to take it upon myself. Here goes: At 15:45, I see 4 rows of 34, so that would be 136 shawarma +- 1 or 2, because the bottom row isn't aligned. Honestly thought it would be more. At my local kebab guy, he usually has less meat and the kebabs are smaller; by the end of the day, he has, in the vicinity of half of his meat left from a full spit. He also has a little device to cut the meat, instead of what is done in the video. Economical efficiency, people! From my local kebab guy, I'd assume he makes a _lot_ more than the aforementioned 136. All while using less meat. Anyway, great video (except for the weird touching all of the kebabs part).
@@mikejameson7678 What's the long answer? At least where I live there is only one place you can even get a decent Gyro and it's in a mall in a city over 40 miles from me. There is a lot of investment and work that goes into offering these up for sale. A lot of expenses and licenses, maintaining truck and equipment, etc, etc
@@jasonbourne1596 This depends on where you're buying them from. In Denmark, where I am from, the price varies anywhere between 65 and 105 kr. For the sake of ease, we'll use the average, 85 kr. That's $12.30 us. Assuming they don't add some huge fee to your oversized order, that's $1672.80. Other comments have mentioned the price range $4.34 up to $20 dollars. So, the long answer (and depending on how much profit vs. demand is in whatever business he's running; say anywhere between 2 and 5 dollars per roll for business) is anywhere between $590.24 and $2720. Or a profit of anywhere between -20% and 217% on the low end, or 400% and 1000% on the high end. Or profit in decimal form, in an ugly table ----| $4.34 | $20| $2 | $318.24 | $2448 $5 | -$89.76 | $2040 So, probably like, a buy-in of the lower end of the $2, maybe even lower than that, and a selling price of whatever is average, which is around $12.17 in this model, would cost $1655.20, and be a profit of $1383.12. Whether it's economic for you to go 40 miles for 136 kebabs, depends on your car. You do the math yourself. (Spoiler alert: The answer is no, because you can't eat 136 kebabs, and they're notoriously expensive to buy, vs. make yourself.) Edit: So, he says the product cost $255 total, and $392 if he ordered. At $255, that's $1.85 per roll; which is in fact lower than my low-balling, and selling it at the price points mentioned would yield huge profits. If he sells it at 392, he makes a 53% profit, or $137 total, at $2.88 per roll. Realistically, though, this is not possible nowadays, unless you're using _very_ low quality food products, and the seller is generous. If he sold it for the aforementioned $4.34, he'd make a $339 profit. And if he sold it at a more traditional $12.30 or goes all out $20, he'd profit anywhere between $1430 and $2485. Basically, there is no "investment" in the "low" prices, as the investment is advantageous for the seller regardless (at least covering the food), and the prices aren't low.
