A round of golf at Royal Thai Army golf course in Bangkok, Thailand. It's an affordable place near central Bangkok with 2 18-hole courses to play. You can show up and play (like I did) or book a tee time ahead if preferred.
On this day the new course was closed so I ended up playing the back 9 of the old course for the first time.

Royal Thai Army Golf Club - Old Course & New Course Description:
(good municipal course that's fun for all)
As the name suggests, Royal Thai Army Sports Center Ramindra Golf Club is owned and operated by the Thai Army, located just outside Bangkok's main downtown section. The facility boasts two complete 18-hole courses, Old Course and New Course.
Royal Thai Army is one of the better value courses in Bangkok. While in many countries, military golf courses are off-limits to civilians; the courses welcome visitors here in Thailand at any time. The course is one of several courses in Bangkok that offer fully floodlight night golf, staying open until 11 pm every night.
The site itself consists of two 18 hole, par 72 parkland-style & tree-lined courses side by side, which are both equally challenging. The relatively flat terrain provides a fun round of golf for higher and mid-handicapped players.
The New Course and Old Course share the same clubhouse, though the teeing areas are opposite sides of the Royal Thai Army Golf Club. The New Course layout is similar to the Old Course, but the hole lengths average 20-30 yards shorter. Both courses are acceptable for low and high handicap golfers.
Due to its reasonable price and central location, the Royal Thai Army Golf Club Sports Center gets busy, especially on weekends and on Wednesday afternoons when most soldiers get allocated time to pursue sporting activities. Calling ahead to reserve a tee time is recommended.
The Royal Thai Army Sports Center facilities include several pro shops, chipping and putting areas, more than ten restaurants. Every hole has a kiosk serving a unique Thai snack and drinks. The locker rooms are well maintained, though there is a slight change for towel service. Other facilities include an Olympic-sized swimming pool and a public accessible double-decker driving range.
Caddies are well trained and know their profession. They assist golfers and help with the speed of play despite the course allowing 6-balls to play in one group. Overall, the Royal Thai Army offers a lovely day out golfing in Bangkok at a fair price.

It would be good if you did a general Thailand "life" vlog. Needn't be too personal but an overview. I'm hoping they bring in 90 day visas for Brits so I can spend a few months there in the winter. Congrats on getting your golf game into good shape 👍

Just go do 30 days go to immigration get an exstensions for another 30 days then quick trip across the border then back for another 30 days in Thaiand.

Not sure whether you've moved to Thailand or not? I've been here for 14 years. Army courses in Thailand are very variable. Why don't you play some decent courses like Rancho Charnvee in Khaoyai or Singha Parrk in Khon Kaen?
Fun times. On avg what do you spend for a round of golf in Thailand? I did see the green fee board but for you, what's an avg round of golf cost everything in ⛳
£24-36 inc. transport. This is for 9 holes of play. On this day it cost £36 all in 👍👍

Yes, I don't normally implement UA-cam video tips but I saw one (which I can't remember where) and it worked for me from day 1. Basically, instead of addressing the driver to the ball straight I address the ball with my arms much closer to my chest. The driver sits very high on the toe side at address. It's the exact opposite of Bryson Dechambeau but it seems to help me with straighter & longer drives. Thanks for watching :)

Thanks for posting James. I noticed that on your chip shots on 14, 15 and 17 you were really lined up way left of the target and that’s where your ball went.
Good spot. It’s the open stance chipping technique. It saves me from duffing or thinning chips 👍👍👍

there are alot of nicer courses around Bangkok within a 60 km drive you should try. If you are an expat living in Bangkok join a society like Londoners Club or the Bangkok Wanderers.

Whats the average green fee in Thailand mate. Could you convert to £ please😂?
Around £60 all in is average in the Bangkok area. This 9 hole round cost me 1300 baht (£28.26) all in including the caddy tip. There's lots of good courses where every blade of grass is perfect but I don't play those as unfortunately I don't have the wallet for them. Maybe in the future...
