#finasteride #hairloss #testosterone
I've been taking finasteride 1mg since 2018,
No more hairfall
No side effects related to sex etc.
The dream🤩🤩
100%. The only people I've met where it messed up their libido where Gymrats who bought it but never got it prescribed they started with 5mg+ dosage. WAY TOO MUCH.
Any new hair growth?
What is your dosage per dosage ?😊
My real question is: I was prescribed testosterone by my doctor, and I was taking finasteride prior to taking testosterone. Can both medications be taken together? I need testosterone for balance and also regain my hair
Often wondered about that myself. Thanks for the explanation.
yeah but a mild increase in test isn't worth crushing DHT, your overall androgen 'exposure(?)' is less
Meme hormone
I experienced increase in testosterone levels since taking finasteride 1mg daily for over 1 year
Take it every day? I started change after two months of two days take 1 mg then day of and rinse and repeat because my libido did seem to get softer! Energy has increased
@@Bryan-dz4qzdid it help in hair
Bro can you chat with me i am also in initial stage of hairloss 😢
@@Primetrue sure bro
@@Primetrue how old are ya
Thank you so much for your information. Appreciate it sir.
I have had BPH since 55 y/o no hair loss opposite now at 59 y/o I have to take Finasteride 5mg for life to reduce the swelling and bleeding. I tried Flow Max similar to Finasteride the headaches were bad and had to stop. I did notice slightly tired in the morning but riding the bike seems easier to recover. Maybe taking Finasteride will boost my weight training?
Really?? Finasteride increases testosterone? Wow i didnt know that! In that case i better go get Finasteride lol
yeah it does, atleast 10%
But it also increases estrogen by the same percentage.
bruhhh i just started taking fin like like 10 days ago, for the first 4 to 5 days i was all normal now I'm extra horny, always 💀
rest in peace
I feel like Finasteride turn my DHT into estrogen more than increase test level
Question: Besides the known sexual side effects of 5α-Reductase inhibitors, are there any other known long term side effects of 5α-Reductase inhibition? Does the inhibition of this enzyme effect other bodily functions in a meaningful way, when taken over the lifespan of the patient?
Come back in 2050 and maybe we’ll have the answer to that
@@laxjs also keep drinking and smoking till that date, so if something is off, you can blame the medicine.
Hi doc, can we use ayurvedic medication such as shilajit, ashwagandha etc along with finasteride to get best of both the worlds
No. Finasteride just by itself is more than enough.
Can confirm it does significantly increase your testosterone levels. When I'm on finistride levels are at 52, and off are 25.
52 free T on Finasteride? Um, unless you're maga dosing exogenous testosterone, your free test wouldn't be 52 nor 25. Unless, you're going through puberty and are one in 10 million teens with a 2000 total T and 52 free T. Science.
Doesn't make sense 100% since it's also used to treat hirsutism and hyperandrogeny in women. I don't think it's that straightforward.
Is there a lab to test this?
@@user-wt5if6rx8m why are you referencing women? Completely different mechanisms and hormones, it might very well be logical that a drug has opposite effects when administered to the different respective sexes
Is this the same if you take topical finasteride
Idk bruh. I'm 42 and take 1mg a day and I'm at 1030 tes levels. I don't have a before to compare but seems high to me.
That's a great free testosterone number. Are you on TRT?
@@marcusbarnes5929 no
Generally, for a male, which dosage of oral minoxidil do you recommend and would it be daily or EOD? Thank you.
3x week
Been using topical finasteride and minoxidil for about a year, fairly happy with the results but considering moving to oral finastride for ease of use and lower cost. If I’ve been tolerating the topical is there any enhanced risk of the oral? Planning on taking 1mg every couple of days to start with, and hoping to maintain or improve the results I’ve already seen from the topical
Results will be similar, as will side effects probability
decided to go for another set of topical as less likely for side effects from what I’ve read as topical more localised.
Its true that finasteride can increase testosteron by 10%?
Brody, did you even watch the video
Go check out the Drake et al study ("The effects of finasteride on scalp skin and serum androgen levels in men with androgenic alopecia"). The researchers also looked at testosterone levels with subjects showing the percentage increases in serum testosterone from various dosages used in the study, e.g. 0.01, 0.05, 0.2, 1 & 5 mg. Great study to look at.
Hi dr. Vikram, could you please do a video on how melasma associated with finasteride, i have side effect after taking 6months of 1mg a day , i got pigmentation on my face, and melasma on cheeks.
for me too , I am taking for an year and forehead pigmentation happens
Definitely boosted mine a bit..not loads but a noticeable boost for me taking 1mg a day.
Was on Fin for 6 month 0.25 every day - no change in T
Then went to 0.5mg every day for 6 months - no change in T
Went onto 1 every day and my Testosterone sky rocketed (blood test confirmed). I put on lean muscle mass, was ultra horny all the time, and had lots of energy. After 6 months developed slight Gyno in my left pec/nipple.
Im now off Fin trying to regulate my hormones.
Moral of the story is yes it can absolutely raise T but be careful.
Same here, 1mg everyday, i also supplement with Tongkat Ali & Fadogia, i'm 225 lbs at 6"3 with slight visible and, my libido is through the roof.
Mine is high as well. Over 1000@@Julius1997.
Hello Thank you for all the information you provide. Can you opine on why the hair that does regrow is much thinner and my hair was curly and lost the curl. Of course I will ask if there is anything that can be done to boost the quality of the regrowth? Thank you.
I'm 21 my hair is falling tremendously.. and withdrawal of hairline is visible(though not so serious).. what's the solution for me??
Make an appointment and find out.
Same , i feel sad
You'd need to triple your T levels to get any sort of muscle building effect.
If you are going to use it, do not use oral first, use topical finansteride first. It is more reliable in terms of reliability and due to its low dose.✌️
You don't have any real data, so your not answering the question.
Job well done!
No data, no answer, simple.
Finasteride almost KILLED ME!! Please stop promoting this toxic!!!
Same. My life is ruined
In what way, can you explain it more?
Tbf, they don't say its without risks, but if you're genetically prone to balding it's your only choice if you want hair.
I'm taking finasteride for almost 4 years, no side effect reported related to sex or things like testosterone.
Prove it first
First coment
Lets go
This is not true, may b he was on some addln supplements
I am on TRT. I have been dealing with side effects for a while and have decided to come off of TRT. I am also taking a low dose of finasteride (approx .25mg) every other day to battle hair loss. Do you see any issue with continuing the finasteride after I stop trt?
.25 every other day is not going to do anything. Do .5mg everyday or 1mg Mon wed friday. Bump your every other day dose to .5mg and see how your body tolerates it. Then do the 1mg 3 times a week, I've done so much research on this and that seems to be the best.
@@Tommy-Eagle-USA you have no idea what you are talking about
Why would I I'm not a fkn doctor Karen.
What side effects are you having on TRT?
My doctor prescribed me to take finasteride 1mg per day. After two months I experienced some bizarre symptoms, such as shrinking muscles and increasing estrogen levels. The second one is the worst one due to the fact that estrogen is responsible for female characteristics, so I’ve stopped taking it.
Seen a 70yr olds bloods who was given finesteride for prostate issues. His total testosterone levels were beyond the normal range for adult males. His free test was at the absolute top of the range.
How about dutasteride
Increases it also but more. If I remember correctly it was something like a 20% increase at most in total t after chronic dosing for a couple months. But still not gonna increase muscle growth cause I believe it has no effect on free testosterone (the test your body actually uses.) Also raises estrogen more as well of course.
It’s increase oestrogen too
Ive only heard people LOOSING TESTOSTERONE LEVELS from finastride??? What is this new claim
Having a sedentary lifestyle usually does that. If you are an individual who eats healthy and exercise on a regular basis, your T levels tend to be on the higher side.
I am taking dutasteride since 3 months and I have every symptoms of increased testosterone level except my hairline which is better :)
Does it decrease facial hairs
i have problem with my hairs fallen with white bulb. they are falling excessively and have been being happening for over 4 years. anyone suffers it?
i do. and after 1 years dht blockers havent done anything to slow it down. are you using fin/dut?
Use Nizoral shampoo for 3 weeks and see if it makes any difference
And does it increase estrogen in mens coz of fenestride
There is a pathway for that happening, the same pathway as it potentially increasing testosterone
Now that doesn’t mean it would or wouldn’t, for you since it depends on the individual. But yes, the mechanism is there, gynecomastia is likely a side effect of increased estrogen levels due to finasteride, although there are no studies to 100% confirm this
See but the 10% increase isn't worth the 70% dht crushing for this specifically - See Derek from more plates more dates video on this, it's very informative.
doesnt he take fin though?
He does but he also advises you take a bloodtest before taking fin - see his video on Post Finasteride Syndrome he goes into depth with it there - Very good video@@ayumelove
Yes but he's on steds so mustnt feel the sides
He takes Dut so drops it even lower but he is on HRT anyway so doesn't really matter as far test increase @@ayumelove
Use aromatase inhibitors on side 😒😒😒
Hello sir I am afraid that finasteride & dutastride can cause high grade prostate cancer on long time treatment please explain 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
