I love how the guy playing Super Mario Bros. had no idea there ever was an arcade version of SMB, lol. At one time I could have considered myself one of the best in the world at SMB arcade....I once I went through the entire game without dying once and got a score of over 2.9 million (mostly from 100k for every life I didn't lose)....this was in the late 80s when I was 11 years old.
@SiliconClassics No, but they do have a sit-down Turbo Outrun cabinet! The one where the entire seat and game cab you sit in moves with your car, along with some serious force feedback.
@joshnickerson It's awesome. Supposedly the biggest outdoor market in the south, if you wanna believe their ad campaign. As always, it's hit-or-miss for awesome retro goodies, but I almost always come away with a little bag of something cool. Grabbed several classic PC games today for a few bucks, always tons of NES, SNES, Genesis and other systems and games to buy. It's one of those setups where hundreds of locals set up their own table for a day, so it's a massive variety that changes weekly.
Holy Crap! That's a freakin' SWEET find, dude. I creamed myself when I saw the Saturday Night Slam Masters logo (on the MvC2 cabinet). It makes me a little sad to see a proper arcade again; The only ones we have left here are in the city and they are all Dancing games, light gun games, novelty cabinets, and those stupid "Spin the wheel to win an Ipod" things. Got to make lots of money so I can build my dream arcade. :D
@ChrisRedfield1991 I certainly hope it does. This was right next to a permanent indoor video game shop, so I'm hoping its theirs and they'll keep it around! I'll keep feeding them quarters to give them extra reason to stay :D
What the hell, I thought that the arcade market was dead since 1983 when the video game crash took place and now I can see a massive hall full of arcades in your video. (That's just great) Have a 5/5
@Borin81 I'll be going back there for sure and I'll get some footage of the Turbo Outrun cab. The thing is an absolute blast to play! And kind of unsettling... it really knocks you around!
@niceandgames I wasn't able to try it out, but it certainly looked that way! Someone else was playing several versions of King of Fighters on that cab while I was there. Ahh, can't wait to go back and dive into some of these.
All those great arcade cabs, and then having "SpaceBoy" pumping in the BG ... CAN'T GO WRONG, MAN! A bit too many fighting cabs for my liking, but man does everything else make up for it :')
Awesome Find! That is quite a selection of games for such a small venue even if most of them are broken in some way. Wish I could find something like this in Atlanta.
@Videogamehistorian00 i feel you man. I live about 25 minutes away from Atlanta, and yet all the arcades my older brothers went to back in the 90's are sadly pretty much all gone.
Awesome video man! I have to admit my favourites are Neo Geo machines (because of thier multi carts in one machine) and also SFII! I may be biased as i own both machines! All the best for 2013 mate!
That is awesome I live in a city called Calgary in Alberta,Canada its a huge city but 6 years ago our last arcade was taken out of elu claire market thanks to the home console
I live in england and on the strength of this may make a trip to NC, This place looks awesome if only they had a shinobi, I have my own but its better playing it in an actual arcade, Great video
Oh sweet, do they have a sit-down Hard Drivin' / Race Drivin' game? I'd book a plane ticket right now for the chance to play it all day at 25 cents a pop!
@MaGuss0909 actually it's the SNES equivalent to the Playchoice-10 which played NES games, but it didn't catch on for too long. Some of the games which came out for it were Super Mario World, F-Zero, NCAA Basketball, Super Tennis, Robocop 3, Lethal Weapon, Addams Family and Contra 3. many of these games were slightly different to their home versions (i.e. SMW on the Super System having a world select menu)
Awesome place and video! I would love to see all the control layouts for the different games, the way they're set up out in the wild. If you do another video on these could you show them? I hope I find a place like this around here in Texas.
Cool stuff. Near my home is a place called "Nickel City" and yes, everything is 5 cents, although most of the older games like pacman and galaga are always set to free.
@GX2Productions There were two Vs. Systems there: the standalone SMB ones, and the "red tent" Dualsystem. Didn't try the latter, so I don't know how many games it had. There is also the Nintendo Playchoice-10, which was an upright cab with 10 Nintendo games to choose from, including Mario. Perhaps that's the one you've played.
Someday, i want a wing of my house to be full of those machines. Especially the Mega Man Power Battle cab and the After Burner. The arcade version of SMB is actually a bit different than the NES one, and RetroUSB sells a repro of it.
I thought this place looked familiar! I live about 15 minutes away from here. I'm in Asheville, NC. Unfortunately I think they took all these games out for some reason. Major bummer.
In a bowling alley, we have something like this, except most of them are $1 now. They USED to be .25 cents though, and I remember so many good times there with games that they threw out there. Still have a few of my favourites there though, including a Tekken knockoff that totally got me hooked on Tekken XD
Epic, sadly the arcades around here (UK) all shut down in the mid 90s :( There used to be a huge one in my local city centre that I'd hang out in all the time, sadly the only thing to do these days is go out and booze.
@CornerBoy I didn't get to try it, but it appeared to be turned on and showing stuff on-screen. I'd love to give that one a try next time though, as I'd never seen one in person before today and those things have always had me curious.
@GodsBurden It's called Smiley's Flea Market in Fletcher, NC. And you mean the little red guy? That's a Nintendo Vs. Dualsystem. If it's working (and it appears to be) I hope to get some playtime with that whenever I go back :D
Ah the arcades! I remember a couple of arcades in my city one had only street fighter and the other one only KOF 94, 95, 96, and 97 they have long disappeared sadly.
Wow wow. Wow wow wow. Wow. This is a great place! And does that Neo Geo (in a Namco cabinet?) machine at 2:03 have a multicart in it? Maybe I don't understand what I'm seeing after being awed by all the excellence that preceded it. :)
@coalb389 I'd love to! I have a long list of places with amazing arcades I'd enjoy visiting, but sadly I rarely get the chance to take enough time off to travel to them. The exciting thing about this one is it's just minutes from where I currently live :D
You lucky devil, i had a fun fair (run by what are affectionately known as 'jippos' here in the uk) which has always had a street fighter 2 cabinet in. But I didnt go this year and it ended like 3 days ago. Mainly to avoid the 'youths' knocking around. Im so british that our estates are almost uninhabitable without getting jip from 'youths'! ;)
oh i miss the x men arcade in france where we always go they had this arcade with xmen and alot of others but i mostly played xmen vs marvel or capcom cant remember for the 2 weeks we where ther i spend a week and a haf in the arcade playing the shit out of that game
@atarileaf I had never seen one in person or played it, and MAN was it more difficult! There was also a Nintendo VS System at 02:15 which I'd never seen, as well as a Nintendo Super System at 01:21 with Super Mario World. Very weird, it has an oversized SNES-like controller and you can play the game for a certain amount of time before you have to insert more credits.
@Quimbyrbg yeah that would be cool. theres a vacant lot of garages RIGHT next to my house....if i had the money, id make them a little arcade full of retro games
@Shiqna1 It's all good man, I have been wanting to do some arcade game videos for a long time! Hopefully this place will give me the chance. Feel free to get greedy!
This makes me miss arcades, where gamers used to gather to compeat and play.
:-)
Today their alone all alone :-(
SUPER MARIO ARCADE!!! Good god, what a gem! I've wanted that game for the longest time.
25 Cents, hell yeah. That place looks awesome!
That’s awesome 25 cent arcade
0:52 Deja Vu!
So many memories in such a small space..
Greatest collection Ive ever seen
@SiliconClassics No, but they do have a sit-down Turbo Outrun cabinet! The one where the entire seat and game cab you sit in moves with your car, along with some serious force feedback.
@mrgutchman Correct!
These are my familys machines, we used to run the store beside there at smileys flea market, but we still have these!
Looks like a nice little money maker.
Sadly not enough of one :(
This place is now shut down.
Arh maaan... That just frigging sad.....
I hope the games all found good homes, at least. It woukd suck if they were rotting in a storage locker or worse, destroyed in a dump or something.
@mrgutchman Nope! It wasn't working properly when I was there, but I'll have to go back and try again.
@ChrisRedfield1991 This is Smiley's Flea Market in Fletcher, North Carolina.
Nice to see a retro arcade :o)
Holy Crap! That's a freakin' SWEET find, dude.
I creamed myself when I saw the Saturday Night Slam Masters logo (on the MvC2 cabinet).
It makes me a little sad to see a proper arcade again; The only ones we have left here are in the city and they are all Dancing games, light gun games, novelty cabinets, and those stupid "Spin the wheel to win an Ipod" things.

wow, brings me back to the good old days :)
wow, great arcade machines here...
Best. Arcade. Ever.
What the hell, I thought that the arcade market was dead since 1983 when the video game crash took place and now I can see a massive hall full of arcades in your video. (That's just great)
Have a 5/5
@Borin81 I'll be going back there for sure and I'll get some footage of the Turbo Outrun cab. The thing is an absolute blast to play! And kind of unsettling... it really knocks you around!
Nice game room (HOW DO IT LOOKS FOR 2017)
Nice video they have all the old school arcade games most games you cannot find any more.
A $10 roll of quarters, $10 for popcorn and soda, and it's an all-day fest. Heaven.
@niceandgames I wasn't able to try it out, but it certainly looked that way! Someone else was playing several versions of King of Fighters on that cab while I was there. Ahh, can't wait to go back and dive into some of these.
Man I hope this place still exists in 2023.
It was barely around for another year unfortunately
@@LGR Booo :( I guess $0.25 arcade gaming was too good for this world.
I wish I had an acrade somewhere around my place.... especially these awesome retro arcades
Nice. Very, very nice.
That's really all I can say about this little oasis on your doorstep.
Initial D and Daytona USA *-* you want to give me a heart attack, i love these 2 games
This confirms the fact that I need to move to another state. There's just nothing like that around here.
I miss arcades..:(
@Videogamehistorian00 i feel you man. I live about 25 minutes away from Atlanta, and yet all the arcades my older brothers went to back in the 90's are sadly pretty much all gone.
Nice, some great old school games there. Never seen an arcade SMB. Wow.
Awesome video man!
I have to admit my favourites are Neo Geo machines (because of thier multi carts in one machine) and also SFII!
I may be biased as i own both machines!
All the best for 2013 mate!
Epic find there Clint, this place looks cool to check out for sure = )
Flea markets rock, and you seem to have found an awesome one, based on its incredible collection of arcade units.
That is awesome I live in a city called Calgary in Alberta,Canada its a huge city but 6 years ago our last arcade was taken out of elu claire market thanks to the home console
Total Vice. That is an incredibly rare lightgun game from Konami. I hope they still have that.
I want to go there so badly!
Whoa. Nintendo Super System, Megaman The Power Fighters, these are some really rare machines!

@shorty1k I didn't see what was playing, as I ran out of time to spend there today. Certainly checking next time I'm there!
Awesome place and video! I would love to see all the control layouts for the different games, the way they're set up out in the wild. If you do another video on these could you show them? I hope I find a place like this around here in Texas.

CRUISN' YEAH-YEAH! Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa!
@JokerXDHaHaHa On behalf of arcade lovers like myself, I thank you for your reasonable business practices :)
Wow you guys lucked out. I wish we had something like that up here.
@mcgreggor I'm also about 20 minutes from Fletcher, haha. Small world.
That looks awesome. You cant go wrong for 25 cents
What I wouldn't give for this to exist where I live.
LOOOOOOVE MvC
Someday, i want a wing of my house to be full of those machines. Especially the Mega Man Power Battle cab and the After Burner.

I thought this place looked familiar! I live about 15 minutes away from here. I'm in Asheville, NC. Unfortunately I think they took all these games out for some reason. Major bummer.
Hey, did you ever go back and found out for sure if it is gone?

Mortal Kombat, Mario Bros., Turbo Outrun, After Burner, and more all in one place!?!?!? Life has been completed >:D
I would drive all the way down to there from canada just to have a crazy day there
Yeah the last time I was a decent arcade was 6 years ago when I was 14 at eau claire it was awesome.
ahh pole position ..i remember that game so well!
Epic, sadly the arcades around here (UK) all shut down in the mid 90s :( There used to be a huge one in my local city centre that I'd hang out in all the time, sadly the only thing to do these days is go out and booze.
NIIIIIIIIICE!!!!
See a few bootlegs in that joint...KOF Magic Plus 2, what seems to be a Blue Elf 2 (i think) in a MVS cab, etc... VERY nice find Clint!
@CornerBoy I didn't get to try it, but it appeared to be turned on and showing stuff on-screen. I'd love to give that one a try next time though, as I'd never seen one in person before today and those things have always had me curious.
Holy shit this is awesome. Where to start? Daytona USA? Street Fighter 2? Marvel VS Capcom? Afterburner?
This rocks!
@GodsBurden It's called Smiley's Flea Market in Fletcher, NC. And you mean the little red guy? That's a Nintendo Vs. Dualsystem. If it's working (and it appears to be) I hope to get some playtime with that whenever I go back :D
Oh, dang! That IS an Initial D arcade machine! Sweet!
+OuroborosChoked yes, Version 2!
Ah the arcades! I remember a couple of arcades in my city one had only street fighter and the other one only KOF 94, 95, 96, and 97 they have long disappeared sadly.
This is better than the dave and busters in my town.
Wow wow. Wow wow wow. Wow. This is a great place! And does that Neo Geo (in a Namco cabinet?) machine at 2:03 have a multicart in it? Maybe I don't understand what I'm seeing after being awed by all the excellence that preceded it. :)
Anyone here can always private message me if you have any questions about any of them!
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
@coalb389 I'd love to! I have a long list of places with amazing arcades I'd enjoy visiting, but sadly I rarely get the chance to take enough time off to travel to them. The exciting thing about this one is it's just minutes from where I currently live :D
Only in America could this place still be open AND also be completely unbeknownst to a local gaming enthusiast.
You lucky devil, i had a fun fair (run by what are affectionately known as 'jippos' here in the uk) which has always had a street fighter 2 cabinet in. But I didnt go this year and it ended like 3 days ago. Mainly to avoid the 'youths' knocking around. Im so british that our estates are almost uninhabitable without getting jip from 'youths'! ;)
I love real coin-op arcade video games.
Fricken Megaman: Power battle! That thing's rare in America.
looks like hadouken heaven
God, I would spend hours there. Lots of incredibly good games some rare stuff too! Did the red candy cab work (the nintendo one)
I'm from Calgary too, it sucks. The greyhound ain't bad though. It has a decent arcade.
Arcades still exist somewhere? Good.
Outrun!
oh i miss the x men arcade in france where we always go they had this arcade with xmen and alot of others but i mostly played xmen vs marvel or capcom cant remember
for the 2 weeks we where ther i spend a week and a haf in the arcade playing the shit out of that game

Hope this is still open... I'm about an hour away in Spartanburg. Unfortunately that MvC2 cab isn't running its proper game.
The arcade across the bridge from me has a 4 slot Neo-Geo cab. ;D
@thepirategamerboy12 I didn't see any, no.
sweet! o.0
*throws 50 bucks on the table* I WANT TO PLAY !
Cool place :D
Wow!!!!
Holy SH!T they have time crysis!!! THATS MY #1 ARCADE GAME =D
@Shiqna1 It's all good man, I have been wanting to do some arcade game videos for a long time! Hopefully this place will give me the chance. Feel free to get greedy!
Dat After Burner arcade cab. :nerdgasm:
