The cake one is a pretty common one and there's usually a few levels to it, first one pretty basic - she said no, next is bride spent a ton on makeup and hair and/or doesn't want to feel humiliated in front of family and friends, after that its it started as a wholesome play fight then groom got overly aggressive with it and lastly is the risk of severe injury because wedding cakes typical have structural rods in them if they're multilayered (not just tiered) and there are more than a few viral videos of the groom picking up the whole cake and smashing it in the bride's face or shoving her down into it. Also last lady sounds like she's trying to baby trap a stranger
5:15- the single mother article blows my mind every single time how completely idiotic or entitled she is. IF YOU WANTED HELP YOUR COULD HAVE ASKED! 6:25 I can give some light as to why this misunderstanding tends to happen: it's often borne from a misunderstanding of the distributive property. Because you can distribute in multiplication (e.g. 2(2+3) = 4+6 = 10) and exponents are also like multiplication (albeit repeated multiplication), then of course you can distribute the exponent the same way you can distribute factors! ((2+3)^2 = 4+9 = 13) Of course, the problem is that even though both are "technically" multiplication, they are handled in different ways. If you multiply a number by 0, then the result is zero, because zero things are being added and the base number (as in the number that doesn't change another number's properties) for arithmetic sequences (adding/subtracting) is 0. However, if you raise a number to the 0 power, then the result is *one*, because zero things are being *multiplied*, and the base number for geometric sequences (multiplying/dividing) is *1*. In short, people need to be taught math, not taught to remember it. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
3:51 i know several people in similar financial situations. Don't currently have the money to get by, but don't get government assistance because they work full time and aren't addicted to drugs. Feels like the spectrum for government provided aid should be expanded, since right now it's just "you have to literally be dying before we bother to help"
3:23 If someone honestly believe that one needs to work 70 hours a week to keep society afloat, they're living in a different world. It's not that we need to work so many hours to maintain our society, but that those said hours need to be in place to maintain THEIR society.
4:50 Actualy, men *can* breastfeed. It's trivial to induce lactation in men; starvation alone can cause milk production to begin in about 15% of human males. In less terrible ways to do it, a few pills a day can start the process.
So it’s a vestigial thing that happens to less than 1 in 5 men that only happens after nearly dying of starvation or being prescribed chemicals that send your body chemistry out of wack. That’s a pretty elaborate way of saying *Men Can’t Brestfeed.*
@@Peter_Turbo4 It's clearly possible. Case closed. You can argue until the cows go home about the desirability of it, but saying that this somehow implies it's impossible is just not true.
@@Vitorruy1 halving your life expectancy for 5 minutes of “Breastfeeding” does not count as men being able to breastfeed. What it’s classified as is your body shitting the bed because it’s dying.
The gas part makes me laugh in two ways 1) Gasoline is a manufactured product from oil. You can’t just put crude oil in your car and make it run 2) he’s seen those big trucks putting in gas into the reservoirs, I assume?
3:47 I forgot which study it was, but I do know one was done by a few larger companies. They gave said workers a slight raise, cut their hours to working 3-4 days a week and not 5-6, and it showed that company value was going up consistently and the efficiency of said workers was up well over 2x. We should adopt culture that promotes a good and healthy work/life ratio. We should actually be able to live our fucking lives instead of slave away 40-45-50-and even 60+ hours a week. That's not healthy dawg. Federal wage needs to increase maybe 30%, and most states like 15% if they're already above said federal minimum wage. Oh and can we stop with this predatory type economy like Jesus Christ. I don't want to be afraid to go to the doctor, to the hospital if I have a potentially life threatening illness. I don't want to be scared to go to school out of fear of getting student debt, THE SINGLE MOST HARSH DEBT IN THIS COUNTRY. You cannot file bankruptcy against student debt and some students have well over $200,000 of student loans. NO REAL AVERAGE HUMAN BEING IS GOING TO PAY THAT OFF BRO... I don't experience debt right now but all I can say is, avoid it like the fucking plague. It can, and will ruin your life. Go to a community college, or go to uni later in life when you have a more stable income. It's not worth it to go straight to Harvard while you work minimum wage and have to pay rent, that's not happening. Healthcare and schooling should be free, and elementary and high schools deserve more government funding. When most of our tax dollars go to useless shit, it really should be going into making life easier for us, it's our fucking money so if we have to pay extra, then we deserve some better quality of life than this shit hole I'm just saying. Before anyone asks, I'm not political. I'm not liberal or conservative, I'm entirely neutral and I simply live off the belief that life should be fair to everyone, no matter how old, how young, rich or poor, nobody should have to suffer just because they broke their leg and have to pay a $5000+ hospital bill for an accident, or pay off $50K of student loans for wanting to study what you love. It's just not fair for anyone.
The reason is simple: it doesn't cost that much. The actual cost of medication, doctors and equipament is much lower than what they charge you. Same for university. They carge you a massive amount just because they can, there's no cost justification for the price they give you.
10:13 id like to also point out, its also a substance which is considerably safer than alcohol since alcohol can turn people into alcoholics and we already know what kind of evil alcoholics can do, just look at all the abusive drunks out there or the DUI crashes that has caused deaths, alcohol makes you stupid whill all cannabis does is make you uncaring and im sure alot of people would rather get stoned than drunk

About surrogacy--- My younger sister can't have kids of her own. She has had two ectopic pregnancies (zygote/fetus gets caught in the fallopian tubes) causing her to lose both of her tubes. So she can't get pregnant. My older sister has had 12 miscarriages (not an exaggeration) and 3 premature babies. Her second baby was born too early and only lived 3½ hours. Nothing could have been done, her lungs were too under developed. So all we could do was keep her warm and love her. However, because of losing here found out the reason why she had so many miscarriages and, at the time, 2 premies. A few years later she had another baby. This time, knowing the issue, the Dr.s were able to help keep the pregnancy and she now has another beautiful daughter. Her oldest and youngest are 19 years apart. I have 2 kids that were full term. Before my oldest sister had her youngest daughter, I volunteered to be a surrogate for both of my sisters. My oldest turned down my offer. My younger sister wanted to do it. Before we could, she ended up getting a divorce from her husband and I had health issues preventing me from doing the surrogacy. I'm better now, and my sister knows that my offer is still on the table. People that have a problem with surrogacy need to just shut up, go away, mind their own damn business. Why do people feel the need to tell others what to do? If these people have issues with surrogacy, do they have issues with adoptions as well? So what are people supposed to do if they get pregnant but can't keep the baby? Abort it? Just leave people alone and let them live their life. People that adopt are probably better parents than many that have biological kids. They often understand what a gift their child is. Also, they're probably less likely to take their kids for granted like many biological "parents" do. Those babies are oftentimes going to great homes and with wonderful parents. Also, how do they feel about teens getting pregnant and their parents raise the baby? Would it be better for those teens to raise a child when they are still children themselves? Sorry for the essay, I didn't mean for this post to get so long. This just hit a bit too close to home.

The worste part about the last one is that in every state the "donor" is still liable for child support.

It was a great idea. I can see why it's so popular. The bed is a little small and lumpy and you do have to bend your knees, but that's not a big deal. I normally bend my knees when I'm asleep anyway. Although my bed isn't normally lumpy. But you can get a mattress topper.

((2+3)^2 = 4+9 = 13)
Of course, the problem is that even though both are "technically" multiplication, they are handled in different ways.
6:36 I’m genuinely flabbergasted as how you would even get 13 as an answer, even if you did it wrong.
3:51 i know several people in similar financial situations. Don't currently have the money to get by, but don't get government assistance because they work full time and aren't addicted to drugs. Feels like the spectrum for government provided aid should be expanded, since right now it's just "you have to literally be dying before we bother to help"
4:28 In her defense, it does look like that until the context is given...
People will build an entire conspiracy over something that could have been answered by a 2 minute google search
3:23 If someone honestly believe that one needs to work 70 hours a week to keep society afloat, they're living in a different world. It's not that we need to work so many hours to maintain our society, but that those said hours need to be in place to maintain THEIR society.
6:15
Another unfortunate soul fails to comprehend the mythical knowledge of PEMDAS.
Also, if the lady at the end added blonde, that would have connected the dots of the kind of crazy she was.

The gas part makes me laugh in two ways
1) Gasoline is a manufactured product from oil. You can’t just put crude oil in your car and make it run
2) he’s seen those big trucks putting in gas into the reservoirs, I assume?

Sure, the betting thing seems a little silly, but there’s a pretty good reason you can’t bet on your own team. I imagine he’s free to bet on pretty much anything else he wants.
6:16 I just wanna know what kind of gymnastics they did to get "13" as an answer.
2² = 4
3² = 9
(2 + 3)² = 13
Their logic:
(a+b)^2 = a^2 + b^2
Reality:
(a+b)^2 = a^2 + 2ab + b^2
At first i agreed but then realised BIDMAS (uk)so
2+3 then square the 5 you get for 25
Pemdas
Meaning you do the addition in the parentheses before the exponents therefore the answer is 25

7:46 Now I never say this. But in defense of Ophra. She did actually grow up super poor where she wore sewn together sacks as dresses and lived in an abusive household. She only became rich after she became a host on a news show that blew up and became America’s #1 show for years and years. But she did that with a shit ton of help I assume. So I dont agree that she couldnt relate to more normal people, but her perspective is definitely skewed here.
