Niantic need to change the friends, so that if the friend who opens the gift to level up the friendship has a lucky egg on, both players get the double XP. I hate the way there's a gift fight towards the end of levelling up friendship.
that is why the best way to earn XP via friendship is to add and then delete your friend once you hit Good Friend (1 heart). If you pro-rate the XP to how much you can earn on a daily basis, Good Friend is the best bang for the buck: Best Friend -> 90 days -> 100k XP -> 1111XP per day Ultra Friend -> 30 days -> 50k XP -> 1667XP per day Great Friend -> 7 days -> 10k XP -> 1429XP per day Good Friend -> 1 day -> 3k XP -> 3000XP per day As you can see, the only way you can beat the "delete Good Friend" method is via lucky egg + Ultra Friend. And even at Ultra Friend, there's a very good chance that you will be playing chicken with the other fellow to be in a position to open the gift on the last day. Sticking to just Good Friends not only gives an insane amount of XP, it saves you the need to spend that lucky egg too.

Plus, there's a very good chance that the other side would flake on you the higher the friendship level. Thus, it is very likely you may never be able to pop a lucky egg at best, or they cease interacting with you before even hitting that breakpoint at worst. Most of them would play chicken with you 2 days before hitting the breakpoint. And on the last day, they may take weeks, or even months, before they have synchronized enough friends to level up with a lucky egg in one shot. Thus, you'll have a deadbeat friend in your friends list that takes too dang long to earn XP to merit their presence in your friends list.

Great video man. Just to inform everyone that in this Bidoof outbreak event in the last couple days we have 4times catch XP. That is about 9500xp per excellent throw catch with a lucky egg. By far the most efficient method to grind XP.
Thats because there is lots of xp based events like the 3 times catch xp for the x&y events. But yeah the stardust grind isnt good now cuz with lvl 50 mons they cost alot of stardust
A good recommendation is to also do some of these methods during events that offer these bonuses: -2x catch XP -2x Evo xp -2xp (all) -2xp friendship interaction -2xp gym/raid -Etc.

Take that excellent throw, combine it with a 4x catch XP event, add a Lucky Egg and you get over 8,000 xp per catch. That's how I flew up to 40. For me, however, I don't care about getting to 50. Now that I can get XL candy, I just relax with it. Everybody plays differently, but not getting XL candy before 40 was annoying because I would have missed out on some great opportunities like Garchomp community day to get easy, rare, xl candy. I also don't want to spend so much money on raids and I don't live on top of pokestops to keep getting gifts to send to friends. It's a perfect setup if you are near a bunch of them a lot. I wish you could set up a bunch of pokestops down a path people commonly walk down but it seems like there needs to be some significance to it.
for those that are wondering, fastest would be MEGA raids since those are a lot easier than most legendary raids and still give 20k per raid with lucky egg example rn its pidgeot and he dies in seconds
From my experience and research... The most efficient way that saves the most money/time is definitely LE mass evolves. That's still the best F2P method since raiding costs money and friendship bonuses are inconsistent with coordination. Friendship is still the best like Brandon said though! Evo Averages: 80x evolves in 30 minutes = 80k exp, so LE = 160k exp. 320k exp in 1 hour w/ 2 LE. Pair this with a mass Evo of new dex Pokémon and you could be getting up to 360k even. That rate is fantastic, since curating a raid route for 1 hour do 16+ legendary raids on LE is difficult and inaccessible to rural players. Now, remote raids could help facilitate this, but even still, the coordination makes it tough.
could you do a tutorial on what platinums you can get easily, the methods to get them, as well as how u can coincide multiple ones to achieve more platinum badges faster?
I like to pop a lucky egg, and invite 10 new friends to a raid for EXP. After the raid they become good friends and you get 6k exp each. Then add the 7k-20k from the raid itself. You can get at least 2 raids in with that lucky egg. Probably more if you are in a dense area with gyms.
Do you guys all just evolve everything before transferring? I havent really done that yet, but its a waste of 1000xp to just transfer without evolving.
I never remove best friends,I am going to get to lvl 50 eventually but,I can become lucky friends with them and maybe some day I will meet them and do a 100% Lucky trade
Without a doubt the best way to gain XP is indeed friendship. Right now with ability to open 40 gifts for Christmas 2022 event, you could theoretically get 240,000 xp a day by adding 40 friends and deleting them and do it again.

Hey brandon, niantic recently announced they are removing increased interaction distance on PokeStops and Gyms. Can you make a video about this to let them know that they are making a huge mistake by doing this? I have also created a petition to keep the increased distance.

It helps players reach stops on private property without entering the property. It helps those with accessibility issues play the game in a safe area without being hindered.

IF I use a lucky egg ...... so catching 2 pokemon per day, with an excellent trow, will get you the same amount of XP, without a lucky egg .. Even if you add the other friend bonuses WITH lucky egg .. you're still better off catching like 10 or so mons per day with excellent trows ... I strongly believe it's one of the best things Niantic ever did was to increase the XP for excellent trows. It's much more rewarding advancing in this game due to skill .. rather than tedious sending & opening gifts .. from people who might quit the game at any day of that 90 ....

Yep, in 6 months (starting from December 2020) i hit 40 million xp, it took me 2 years to hit 20 million which is the requirement for level 40

It's just losing a few metres of range, it's not that hard to walk closer to things
