Thank you for making this video. I had to get a new top bolt from Ace Hardware due to the last one being heavily rusted.

Do you apply any selent to the water pump gasket?

@richardbeckmann6720 No with paper gaskets they get a better seal on bare metal. Some people will argue that but I have never had an issue. Just need to seal the bolts.

@@picklesgarageDoes that also apply to the transmission gasket? Because i've seen in videos p o not applying selent to transmission pan gaskets.

@richardbeckmann6720 it does depend a bit on the gasket type used. I use rubber trans gaskets which you do not use any sealant. The cork ones you can use a little adhesive to make it stick to the pan and not the trans. Paper ones the sealant messes with the flush seal so I also wouldnt recommend either. So yeah in general I don't use liquid adhesives for the trans pan either. I would recommend the rubber gaskets, reusable and it creates a great seal.

@richardbeckmann6720 Mine looks OK for now but I might be able to in the future. I have a plan to go thru all of the wheel barings and whatnot first. Might be doing the oil pan gasket as well I have a slight leak.

If you remove the fan shroud it gives you a lot more room

You don't run a clutch fan

I do not, my year came with an electric fan. A lot of these parts come "semi universal" so it has the option for the years that came standard or if you want to convert it. Not needed in my case.
