    Is funny seeing Faddis, a master trumpeter, playing this music. Makes you see Armstrong's superiority.

    Stop with the Faddis hate, you are supposed to enjoy it. He's not Louis or Doc., he's Jon Faddis.

    Faddis est un merveilleux trumpet jazz et son style est de jouer très haut en registre bien qu'il soit aussi bon dans toutes les tessitures , après on aime ou pas ,mais perso trop c'est trop , surtout dans cette vidéo , il exagère

    Like Doc Cheatham's tone way better...although Faddis is great...this not a hate comment but a preference comment...there IS a hell of a difference you know...they do make a great contrast together at the end.

      Doc was closer to the mic. He did sound great though.

    Indeed; not the nicest tone counts - just the highest possible note!
    It is for Doc Cheatham that I do not click the "dislike"

    I came her for the more modern production values. Ran back to Armstrong for the solos.

    Faddis s high Register sound thin compared to Louis Armstrong

    • @da11king
      @da11king 4 роки тому +2

      @@jibberjabber564 I doubt it bro, I was just comparing what I heard. Not that he has a thin high register. Maybe it's the mic or recording. Satchmo s sound was definitely fatter

    Too bad Doc got caught up in trying somehow to match Faddis. Doc was basically a beautiful, quiet lyrical player somewhat in the mode of Bobby Hackett. And Louis, for all the energy and bravura, was also a lyrical player, someone who listened to opera all his life. That's why he liked Bobby so much. The quality of the solos is here is not impressive. The most coherent playing actually is when Faddis copies part of Louis's solo note for note, and what do you know, it turns out to be a minor struggle. Faddis can't seem to relax at all. Pops was always first and best.

    with due respect for his music Jon plays too many high notes. Doc plays with more and better taste. But both are great. Wish he would play music instead of high notes.

      What you don’t realize is that they aren’t trying to mimic Louis Armstrong, it’s their own take or interpretation of struttin with some barbecue. And that’s what I love about jazz, they have creatively constructed something beautiful and I think your mad because you will never be able to top that or even come remotely close to that amount of talent
