The pure chaos Gregg brings with his entrance is gold. He rolls in dressed as the wrong Joker, but not even supporting Joker as best picture while driving a car filled with VHSs that's simultaneously an Arthur museum on wheels, yet he somehow manages to highjack the entire show to preview next years & talk about, not just Arthur, but Arthur 1, 2, & 3 which have nothing to do with anything since it's not even its anniversary yet. Genius. Joker strikes again.

Not just any Arthur museum on wheels, the FIRST EVER Arthur Museum on Wheels

@@msgesus4518 no, it’s the jokester
Yeah but you can’t say he isn’t the first person to celebrate Arthur’s 40 year anniversary. It’s that kind of expertise I come here for.
Please say this means we are getting a “Trial of Gregg Turkington.”
Alfie Blundell the possibility hadn’t crossed my mind and I’m internally screeching
Given the fact this event is organized and hosted and legal owned by Tim Heidecker, and sponsored by HEI co. In association with Newman Strategies Corp. , I’m not sure how Gregg Turkington , as a guest of Mr. Heidecker , or the VFA , an unrelated non profit organization could be held responsible for lapses in safety or be liable for holding an event in an inadequately ventilated structure. Especially when alcohol was involved
It's all a fit up. Gregg is being framed by the Delgados. They're the only ones with a motive to mass-poison Tim and his friends. Come to think of it, Mark Proksch might actually have reason to want to watch Tim and Gregg slowly suffocating too. Or maybe its the Chinese connection.... Anyway, the important thing is that it's definitely not Gregg's fault.
I can see it now. Gregg getting cross examined while eating popcorn at the stand
Taking pre-orders for #FREEGREGG tshirts, let me know sizes.
The fact you can hear the cars engine running all the way through this makes it so much funnier.
It’s kind of a nod to the projector noise of a film projector running in the background of so many Hollywood classics in cinema days of yore! 🍿 🍿 🍿 🍿 🍿 and maybe a little miniature blanket because I’m getting kind of tired.

Joe's sass was off the charts this year.
Frankly, Tim went way too easy on him. Tim has the patience of a saint for taking all of Joe's disrespect in stride.
I’m an Estevez-head through and through, but I was really disappointed in Joe’s behavior this year. Tim has worked hard to keep Joe in the hearts and minds of the public and yet Joe refuses to earn Tim’s forgiveness! Not cool, Joe!
“Oh!
Maybe a little too much champagne or something.”
Frank McGovern very true. Joe has slowly became way too disobedient and I bet Tim forgives him, like he does everyone. Tim is a good Christian and his adherence to practicing his faith is his Achilles heel, a weakness that upstarts like Joe exploit.
"Certainly the most recent one!"
The contrast of Tim being terrified of the concept of a champagne cork hitting him, vs. putting a loaded gun under his chin for like 2 minutes straight last episode is fantastic.

With weddings like Tom Cruise Junior in them, you cannot lose!
Lord of the wedding rings - Tim Newmin.
That part had me dead.
I think I've never felt this much upset by a piece of media as Tim drunkenly screaming at an impersonator during his wedding while his poor wife and Joe Estevez timidly aks him to stop, the way she goes "Tiiiim, please stop" feels so real, like I've seen this mistreated woman trying to calm down her idiot husband hundreds of times in real life. This is the most brilliant show ever made and I can't even recommend it to anyone because they think I'm crazy when I try to explain it
Or the way she's super tuned into all his reactions and microexpressions. The way she frantically starts trying to redirect him with her facial expressions when he got annoyed during the pastor's opening statement is so stressful. It can only be this funny because it feels this real.
Sometimes I miss going to a trashy wedding and i re watch this and drink alone
Yeah I have to admit, as somebody who rewatches on cinema a lot, the 7th and 8th specials are my least rewatched. Toni is an incredibly character and actress, but it's just so heartbreaking seeing this poor woman and her family being suckered into Tim's life. Ayaka and the Tom Cruise saga should evoke the same kind of feeling, but it's so ridiculous that it comes full circle. In the Toni Newman arc you definitely get the feeling there are lots of men and women trapped in this kind of relationship.
I explain it as a parody or spoof of amateur UA-cam movie review shows that is full of super clever jokes early on and which has a passive aggressive slow paced humor that snowballs quickly into absurdity 😂 just have them watch the 1st few episodes because they're full of amazing jokes lmao. If they like it they like it, if not they probably won't like the later stuff imo
Anyone else catch at 1:47:09 we learn that Newman isn't Tony's maiden name....meaning Tim actually just took her first husbands name....

@@squidincsquid "CO2 poisoning"
Carbon monoxide is just CO. That's the most significant toxic portion of car emissions.
CO2 is carbon dioxide. It can suffocate you by replacing the lighter oxygen in the air, but it has to be at super high concentrations, and unlike carbon monoxide you can feel it happening and try to escape. Your body actually can't detect low blood oxygen levels, it detects high blood CO2 levels.
@@isaacberger6721 are you with the Delgado family?
We should all be so lucky to go that way.
@@isaacberger6721 yeah I always thought that was interesting, when you hold your breath and feel the desire to breathe, it's not lack of oxygen but too much CO2 that causes that. kinda trippy since I think the natural inclination is to leaven that feeling as not enough oxygen.

I love how even after 11 seasons of hosting a cinema critique show Tim is still so utterly oblivious on any given film
Except for Star Trek
What do you mean? He knew Jo Jo Rabbit like the back of his Yamaha

Holy shit this was my first time trying to watch the whole thing, and I fell asleep about 30 minutes in. I woke up to Tim shouting "wake up!!" while trying to get to people up from being poisoned! Honestly it was a scary moment that took me a lil bit to calm down from it hahah
Heck I was awake the whole time and it scared me. I didn't expect everyone to pull off a real bit at the end. If I didn't know Tim Newman was a comedy genius then I would be concerned.
I fell asleep and woke up during the Happy 40th anniversary to Jaws 2, and the alien noises
sweet baby jesus it's here.
Was starting to get worried that this wouldn't post at all this year.
That ending kept me on the edge of my seat more than anything has in recent memory. I almost started crying for joy when Axiom came in.
It's been on adult swim for like a week
@aaronsdavis I'd assume it's the website, as television (aka T.V.), doesn't tend have things "on for a week".
tim nearly losing it at 34:02
Favorite moment
Tim is such a groundbreaker, a 3-piece quartet? outstanding.
Just like the 4 piece quintet..
That’s the Heidecker commitment to production values. I thought this was the actual Oscars during the first 2 minutes.
Tim is the 4th member lol
They can’t even play pop goes the weasel though. It’s the first thing you learn in music school
Tim Heidecker's humor is immortal.
Especially in these dark ages - he already knows how much of a clown show it is.
Great point, and great tip of the hat to movie buffs everywhere with the "clown show" line!
For the less educated, Gregg is dressed up like Jack Nicholson's "Joker" from the 1989 film "Batman" (running time 126 minutes), who you could say is dressed almost like a clown!
This is the antithesis of the dark ages, in the worst way possible.
@@JayCyrZak *Jokester
Christina and gregg really hit it off we're so used to seeing tim as the ladies man (though those days are over lol) maybe its greg's turn as the "pretty-face" of on cinema
Tim dragging his personal life onto his show as host is hilarious 😂
Gregg's portrayal of the Joker results in a near-massacre

one Axiom away from Electric Sun 2.0
Like if you’re shipping Gregg and Christina.
God Damn Greg Turkington. Nobody needed to die for his vanity and egomania....he needs to be put on trial immediately!!
Josh Hawley I never thought Gregg would come to this. This is what Joker has done to people like him.
gregg's getting the chair for this.
As a Gregghead I agree. He ran amok and people died!
I love Gregg. He can do no wrong
@@evanb0869 Killing people is wrong. Greg is Lucky that I won't be on that jury.
All these characters seem so real, it’s astonishing
1:44:32 when Tim fumbles Laroux’s name is the funniest instance of this bit in the entire show
“Announce aye Mark we ga-the loo a ru la larux lah (sigh) malorururu got has Greg. Glue goo loo grew la rue has … ah Greg. As mark. Glruuuu.”
_All we need is another superhero movie starring Greg Turkington as the Joker and Danny Devito as the Dark Knight. It could be a masterpiece we need but not the one we deserve._
"you're certainly very beige"
"............scuse me?"
Greg's segments are microcosms of how I thought my marriage was going. The dillusional exuberance sums it up perfectly. Tim is a window into my wife's heart. Movies are our kids, and I guess the Oscar show would be holidays or birthdays.
Goddamn poetic.
No Oscar is the guy your wife was seeing
Tim: "Eee-quam Phillips... is that his name?"
Gregg: "Joaquin Phoenix."

1:38:18 the best fade-to-picture gag in all of On Cinema
Thank you
The Steve Harvey picture cross fading into another Steve Harvey picture during the in memoriam segment in Oscar special #2 was also amazing
"Adam Driver from fast and furious" is the most meta reference I've ever heard.
Paul Driver's (RIP) brother.
Is he related to Paul Turbo?
It looked like Tim cracked himself up over that one too
“Paul Car”
lol ikr
Gregg really got out of hand with that horn.
I think it really surprised him
The joker stuck again
The Jokester strikes again!
The horrible food pictures of Chaplin's chili make me laugh every year.
I feel extremely joyful to be able to see little Tom Cruise Heidecker again, he was such an hero, to take that shot, to leave us all behind. Hopefully you and Dr. Luther San will enjoy the eternity and realize that you are the ones who are in fact alive.
This is a beautiful comment. Sometimes you have to just sacrifice the baggage, even if it is your living offspring, born or not, to be your best person.

Such a powerful moment. Poor Tim almost cried, I know I did
Words cannot fully express how much I love this show
Me too
IVE GOT THE OSCAR FEVER
They just did.
And it's not even something I can recommend, you have to have watched the progression of the degeneration/the interactions through the many seasons/more than a few 2+ hour Oscar specials to really appreciate it, that's a lot of content to get through.
“There is no preview of Arthur.
There is only Arthur, today.”
15:04 Tim’s Trumpian character has gotten so good that he actually predicted almost exactly what Trump himself would say about Parasite after it won
GET HIM OUT OF HERE!
I know right! He's actually a decent actor too
Anyone could’ve predicted what Donny was gonna say about Parasite’s “Oscer” win.
You anti Trump freaks have to live here in your little fake reality Tim has created for you ... sad. TRUMP 2020 lads.
@@HEATSEEKER00 Whatever, cult45 snowflake. You would know about fake realities with your alternative facts, you pos live in the stupidest alternative reality, the one in which the pos traitor in the White House who lied about losing hundreds of friends on 9/11 during the 2016 South Carolina Republican nominee debate to win an exchange and gain unearned sympathy, who literally called our Constitution phony because he kept getting questions about his daily violations of the Emoluments Clause, who remains unidicted co-conspirator Individual One in his criminal lawyer's criminal case, who slashed the CDC budget and fired the CDC pandemic response team and now we're staring down the barrel of the corona virus that the pos is now downplaying and there is nothing dangerous about that, who betrayed us in numerous ways to countries like Russia, China, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and even tried to blackmail our ally Ukraine who is fighting a war against Russia into covering for Russian interference, that this pos is somehow the greatest President of all time. That's the reality, we've even watched Trump confess to many of the crimes live on tv, but Trumpster morons can literally watch Trump commit an unConstitutional act and then tell everybody within earshot, "what I saw and what I heard is not what happened."
