i miss having a laptop where all the ports are on the back and not on the sides like modern laptops nowadays. i like the colour of skin btw. great job.
I have tried in the past to rap phones and laptops and I was never that great at it. I just can't get those corners to do right. I love how the Dell emblem gets embossed here! And I love that color as well that you put on it. Maybe I'll try again.
Keep at it, it just takes practice. I'm currently working on a "how to vinyl wrap" series that I'm hoping to start publishing later this winter into the spring. It's geared more toward automotive wrapping, but the basic concepts and principles (like wrapping corners) still applies. Some of my other automotive wrapping videos on my channel I do show how to wrap corners on cars, and the technique is essentially the same for this application.
I'm a beginner trying to do this for the first time. Can you send me links or names of the all the tools you were using? Which vivid wrap is the best type to use and most forgiving for a novice person looking to do a laptop?
Here's my vid going over all the basic tools you'd need. Links in the description of this video. Thank you for watching! ua-cam.com/video/NzJY_x5QeXc/v-deo.html
I don't recall if I did make holes, but I have for other embossing projects. You can use a pin and poke a tiny hole to vent the air out that gets trapped by the ridges, particularly in pocket corners.
Hi there thanks for watching. What I used to soften the vinyl is a basic heat gun, which you can get at the affiliate link.: amzn.to/2Hm955P A heat gun is essentially an industrial blow dryer, but you can use a regular blow dryer as well. The one thing about blow dryers is it typically puts out a lot of fast air which can move the loose vinyl around, so just be aware of that.
Possibly, you have to be careful with heat since you are doing it over electronics. You have to use low heat and keep the heat moving. The heat is used just to warm up a little bit to make the vinyl a bit easier to work with. However, no matter how careful you are, there’s always a chance you could damage The electronics. Use heat at your own risk and discretion.

For some people using a heat gun isn't efficient try using a lighter and make sure you have excess material in the corners

Did you make little holes to work on the logo? What’s the advice there?

Hi, what tool are u using to soften the vinyl with? Is it similar to a blow-dryer and can I use a blow dryer instead of that tool?

can i use a hair dryer to heat it ??
zizi yes, that works as well
Is it hard to remove?
No, it comes right off. I used automotive vinyl, which is designed to be removable.
you're brave running heat over a laptop
I know, right!? Lol! I used low heat and just enough to soften the vinyl.
