    As someone who has daydreamed about a matte wrap, thank goodness for this video! I actually blacked out my car's chrome trim in satin black and even THAT can be a little annoying to keep clean so I can almost imagine what this would have been like. Not all the concerning surface marring showed up on the video but I kept noticing the fingerprints which would drive me up a wall. Good to see this is how you've ran your business!

      matte always looks way better than satin on a chrome delete in black....the whole point of a chrome delete (in black) is to remove the chrome/shine from your trim. Satin black still has that sheen finish, so if you were going for shiny black trim instead of chrome then shoulda just saved $$ + gotten gloss black instead.

      @@Villlxn They're a legitimate business...there isn't such thing as "problems" when a customer comes to pay, bc a.) they've presumably already paid a large deposit to basically just pull their car into the garage/reserve their spot for the wrap and b.) once they'd done that, they definitely had to sign one or multiple forms ranging from liability waivers to product/service delivery agreement(s), the latter of which can be as vague of a document as something legally-binding that just says that Premium has followed through with everything that they promised...which in this case was that they said they would wrap the car in matte black, so depending on the wording of said contract, the customer wouldn't even have any ability to have a problem unless they broke something on their car and didn't tell them about it...They're a legitimate business, so the liability paperwork is pretty standard as far as that shit goes...it's the random people who go posting in like FB groups with bullshit like, "$750 wraps, we'll wrap anything!" who end up teaching customers the ever-so valuable lesson of "you get what you pay for," and a lot of those same people offering that service aren't as structured as Premium, and as a result never thought through the whole 'legality' thing before promising to wrap somebody's car with little-to-no knowledge of how to even do so....
      so yeah, *tl;dr* - premium is a legitimate business...so there's not really such thing as "problems" with customers unless they *really* fucked somethin up. You run into that shit w/ unincorporated stragglers thinking this industry is a quick + easy payday since it's just slapping big stickers on cars...like, how hard can it be, right?? (plus, there's also garagekeeper's insurance that's factored in, covering all sorts of other aspects, but I've definitely rambled plenty already)

I use Avery wrap - although. Did they purchase this stuff from eBay? Also, fingerprints happen. If you touch your vehicle you have to wash it, not too hard. @@cyberlocc okay...cool? A couple widely-known facts about matte black doesn't change my opinion at all that satin (sexy) black will *always* look better than matte black on just about any car...could be bc it's an overused finish, or could be bc it's really never even been all that cool to begin with...idk 🤷‍♂️
      plus, "murdered out" refers to an *all black* car, not a matte black car..so a car wrapped matte black w/o a chrome delete, for example, definitely wouldn't go down as 'murdered out' in my book. Satin black can 100% also be used for a murdered out look on a car....so could gloss black if that's your thing. It just refers to an 'all black everything' look..

    • @cyberlocc
      @cyberlocc 4 роки тому

      @@mkm1856 Maybe where you come from lol.
      Where I grew up, where that term was coined, it was done so as people painted the cars like that, to be able to drive at night with all lights out, without detection to do drive bys. That's where the word comes from, satin and gloss black, do not provide the same fear of the vechile pulling up. When a car is "Murdered Out" in the hood, thats because that car is going to be used for usually violent, crime.
      Of course the meaning has deviated as it has appear "cool" to drive such a vechile. However before that became the "cool thing" it was done for a sole intent and thats where the name stems. The meaning still meant fully blacked out, but done so with Matte Black (usually spray paint). This was not usually done to everyday drivers, it was done to vans and beater cars, the license plates removed. They were not day to day vechiles, they were tools.
      Growing up when you seen such a car, it meant run some one is about to get Murdered, so GTFO. IE "Murder, Out" or "Murdered, Out"
      An "all black vechile" which plenty of hood cats, did do to daily drivers. Was called "Blacked Out". Only matte black, fully vechiles were known as "Murdered Out" and when you seen one you didnt stand around to admire its beauty.
      Murdered out also pertains to clothing and weapons. Wearing dark, deep, light absorbing blacks or painting weapons ect that color so they are extremely hard to detect at night.

Anything you put on it will be cooked in the Sun and ruin it and draw dust and crap. < Ex 3M employee, And always spray with plain water and use a soft lint free rag and wipe in one motion from back of the hood to the front of the hood without picking up your rag and creating static electricity in your wrap, that draws the dust ;) ....we, had to run ground wire(s) off the assembly line because the film picks up so much static electricity, I worked in the film plant ;) ....try it now ;)

      Check out InShane Designs. They've been less active on UA-cam as of late, but they appear to do good work.

    Id be inclined to listen lol if they told me satin was easier I'd go satin. I've had matte materials and yeah even an oily finger sticks out so bad .

    I got a question if you don’t want your customers doing that color than why not take it out from the samples that way they won’t know about it to begin with. ?

    • @kamarynkamaryn
      @kamarynkamaryn 5 років тому +1

      I think they always make suggestions but at the end of the day they have to do what the customer wants and its good for the customers to have options bc they may really want matte and not satin and if they just didnt offer the super chalkboard matte then the person who really wanted it would probably go somewhere else

    Is there vanta black wrap? That will be awesome.

    • @frey8078
      @frey8078 5 років тому +1

      zagitariuz zodiac hate to say it but because of the properties and cost of vantablack it’s difficult to turn into a wrap. it’s not a pigment, it’s a structure, it won’t stretch like a pigment in a wrap it will dull as you stretch it most likely

    • @jkljkl218
      @jkljkl218 5 років тому

      That needs to get sprayed on. The prpblem with vanta imo is it looks like matte black felt skin... dont look good.. at least imo

      Well I'm not a professional but I'm trying to get into that as a career. I've done my own vehicles, practicing on other stuff. Considering doing a car from someone for free or like 200 bucks/cost of materials solely to get more practice and build a portfolio

    I'm still trying to get my wrap job completed correctly from a local shop. have had my car in the shop a couple times but still going back again when winter's over to correct the known issues. I have Avery Satin Rushing Riptide, would you recommend applying something like ceramic-pro to protect the wrap?

    gthoh with this. I wrapped my car and i look after it just as i did when it was OEM paint. And theres no considerable difference as long as you wipe it down regularly like i do anyway.

  • @Sror3d

    The title said it all. I don’t understand why people insist on wrapping their cars like this I mean I’ve seen Tesla’s with this matte black and they look like absolute shit. Like cmon man you really going to take a $40k+ car and make it look like it has unpainted ABS plastic bumpers lol. That wrap is good for little things tho like emblems or chrome deletes even. But I’m not a wrapper

    • @claytonjames4779
      @claytonjames4779 2 роки тому

      I didn't understand it either but it is good for some for a couple of reason. It protects the actual paint and is reversible to the original color. It can be cheaper than painting. It looks custom and is which is probably the biggest reason.

  • @Hawc1987

    This is why you should wrap with proper gloves 🧤 🤦🏻‍♂️ not saying matte isn’t a difficult material but if you install with gloves, use shield guard for the squeegee, wipe clean and immediately ceramic coat you’ll be good to go.

    • @mkm1856

      👍 + shouldn't use a torch when installing matte...prob the easiest way to add glossy spots to the film...the two guys actually wrapping the car were using heat guns, so you could tell they know what's up. But then when inspecting the wrap, out comes the torch...and that'd only make matters worse for the end result...
