    • @ColorChangeCustoms
      @ColorChangeCustoms 5 днів тому

      I don't recall if I did make holes, but I have for other embossing projects. You can use a pin and poke a tiny hole to vent the air out that gets trapped by the ridges, particularly in pocket corners.

    What if there is texturing on the surface? Should primer be used?

    • @ColorChangeCustoms
      @ColorChangeCustoms 6 днів тому

      You can use primer, however, I recommend not applying to textured surfaces, as the vinyl does not tend to stick well, even with primer. Additionally, with primer, when the vinyl is removed, it tends to leave a lot of glue residue that could be difficult to remove.

My goal with my tutorial videos are to help those who are trying to learn and get into vinyl wrapping. I remember when I started trying to wrap there weren’t very many tutorials out there, and if there were, they were very vague. So I wanted to make videos that were detailed enough to be helpful for new installers, based on everything I’ve learned so far working in a professional vinyl wrap shop.

    Im a 15 year wrap installer. We purchased the VVivid ultimate light smoke material. It went in great and only use a heat gun lightly in ind spot to streach. Its in my bodses Porsche Panamera. There is a hazing look to it through out the film after install. Its bern two weeks and nothibg has changed we parked it out in the arizona sun a few hours a day. You xant realky see it if your a few feet away but of you look st it in the light ir sun just right you see it. It looks horribe. We installed it on headlights and tail lights and it did the same. We even ordered more material and redid the headlights and got the same result. Any suggestions

    • @ColorChangeCustoms
      @ColorChangeCustoms 29 днів тому

      This may sound dumb, but did you remove the plastic cap afterward? You can install the wrap entirely with the plastic cap on and not even realize it because the plastic cap is super flexible, almost as stretchable as the vinyl itself. The cap will look scratched up and hazy after install. But if you did remove the cap, then I'm not sure what may have happened. I've never had the issue you described, in any of their shades (super light, light, and dark tint).

  • @danielbonner8309
    @danielbonner8309 Місяць тому

    Have you used the regular vivid tint. I used it on a pretty simple light. The install was easy and went great but the film looked terrible. The glue pattern was very visible and it a bad orange peel too it. Was curious if the Ultimate was much better.

    • @ColorChangeCustoms
      @ColorChangeCustoms 28 днів тому

      I have used their regular premium+ line prior to their Ultimate Tint. You can see the "orange peel" pattern after install, but in my experience, after a few weeks exposed to light and heat, the orange peel goes away. But to your question on Ultimate...it is significantly more clear. I actually did a comparison of the two different lines in this video: ua-cam.com/video/_1ul6Ahmq88/v-deo.html

    • @ColorChangeCustoms
      @ColorChangeCustoms Місяць тому

      Honestly, I'm not sure in terms of pricing. The company I work for does all the quoting...I'm just one of the installers, I'm not on the sales side. But if you already have an idea of your labor costs, then I would add material cost and any other incidentals you feel necessary, like time and supplies for prepping a door (such as doing some body filler and sanding if necessary, hardware removal and hardware reinstallation), and any overhead costs you might typically include in a quote. A decent installer trained on using DiNoc can wrap a door like this (after the door has been fully prepped) in around 30 minutes, give or take, based on the installer experience level. So, hopefully that gives you a framework to price even if I can't give you an exact price.

    • @ColorChangeCustoms
      @ColorChangeCustoms Місяць тому

      If you use a high quality automotive vinyl wrap, it "should" not leave any glue or discolor your laptop. It shouldn't dent it either, as the vinyl is just a "skin" you are putting on. Any dents would be from something impacting the laptop. All things considered, I say "should" because with everything, there are numerous factors to consider that may result in different outcomes. But automotive vinyl wrap is specifically designed to be removable without leaving residue. If residue is left, it can typically be cleaned up by wiping it off with a microfiber cloth and rubbing alcohol.

      No, for doing an entire vehicle, you would need way more vinyl, generally 50ft to 75ft (x5 ft) depending on the vehicle. The 6ft x 5ft would typically be enough for car fenders, as you would split the 6ft x 5ft vinyl sheet in half to have two 3ft x 5 ft pieces, one to cover each fender.

      Someone else mentioned that as well. I've not experienced the purple/pink hue in the roll I have.

      I don't disagree, as there's more to consider than just the cosmetics. The video was specifically a cosmetic comparison, but of these particular vinyls, I'd only install VVivid carbon fiber vinyl. But, to each there own I suppose.
