Me too. Played it with my five year old brother and he hit the wrong direction of the barrel and ended up in the secret barrel. Our jaws dropped for a good minute 😂
In Donkey Kong Country Snow Barrel Blast level there's an easier path, after the golden animal token above the barrel between the two Zingers, in the next blast barrel section, (I think it's the 3rd barrel) you blast yourself directly down) to skip to the end of this level. Toxic Tower in Donkey Kong Country 2 Diddy's Kong Quest is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to beat if you don't hold the jump button 'before' and 'during' landing on Zingers! As a kid, I got so angry at this level until I figured out, "Just hold the jump button!" Makes this level a million times easier versus timing presses of the jump button upon landing on Zingers to jump off them, (already be holding jump before and during jumping off them!) Much, a million times easier now!!! Animal Antics is just tough to beat! My understanding is PAL region of this level is easier than Nintendo Switch Online version of Animal Antics which is probably NTSC region from what I can tell as the frame rate seems faster on Nintendo Switch Online DKC2 SNES Animal Antics plus the controller buttons are purple when starting a new save file when you select one player or two players team or two player contest indicating the Nintendo Switch Online version is probably NTSC region instead of PAL region. Playing the two region differences, I beat PAL Animal Antics MUCH easier than Nintendo Switch Online version! I think the PAL region version has slower frame rates making it easier although still quite difficult! For Squawk's part, just go very slowly and strategically time when to fly against the wind! It's very tough but taking your time MAKES IT MUCH EASIER!!! Still tough!!! From what I can tell, play the PAL region of this level for a easier victory of this level, unofficial emulation messes up the frame rate I hear, so my advice is for console and Switch versions only. I refer to SNES Animal Antics, haven't played GBA Animal Antics in years so don't remember it too well or really, at all. Hope this helps someone, these are some pretty tough levels!
I only wouldn't agree with your tactic on Squawks's part. It's hard to see from the video but the wind is a lot more annoying to struggle against than it looks and it's extremely easy to make an mistake. It's mostly because of the lack of buildup between the wind switching and it just suddenly switches. If you kept your finger to a side just for a split second too long you'll already be pushes against he brambles and get hit. And it was very easy to mess up. I personally failed the level the whole time while taking it slow, because you just couldn't take a breather with the wind going and just stand still for a second. After many tries I got sick of it and thought "let's try to ignore and avoid as much as possible and just race to the end" and I made it in the first attempt. I was about 8 years old back in the day though, so I'm talking about the original version. I've never tried the switch version.
@@WaterbuffelNL interesting, different things work for different people, I could never rush Squawk's part in a million years, never but can get through it with my strategy most of the time, different strategies work for different people regarding the same challenge/s. So interesting to me our conversation of what's easier/harder for overcoming Squawk's part! I was certain everyone would find it easier to go slower looks like for some it's far harder. For me, I need to go slow to do it at all.
Someone once said they should show an average person participating in an Olympic sport before they show the person who trained for it their entire life so that we can tell how good the trained athlete really is. I think something similar is at play here; I'm sure these levels are harder than the ones playing them make them look. Good show!
ngl you made the dkland 1 level look easier than im sure it is, seriously you just flew straight through it. you played it like a glitchless tas, looked cool as hell!
It is good that you acknowledge that the Mario vs Donkey series are Donkey Kong games. 2016's Mini Mario & Friends Amiibo Challenge for the Wii U and 3ds eshop is the last original Donkey Kong game to date.
In Donkey Kong Land for the GameBoy, the Level with i struggled the most was one of the first swimming levels where you get chased by a nautilus, the hardest part there was to get the „KONG“ Letters. Long Story short, i kept held there for a long time, game overing and replaying one of the most annoying Levels in my childhood 😅
Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Country 3 have easier levels, but some have harder ones. But, Donkey Kong Country 2 is the hardest one. Diddy Kong Racing does have some difficult levels like the annoying Silver Coin Challenge which I hate the most than the Wizpig boss level which I never beat.
@@insectduel Swoopy Salvo isn't that hard imo, but levels like Poisonous Pipeline and Ripsaw Rage can take many attempts before completing them, and I don't think Swoopy Salvo is one of these but yeah it's still a tough one
23:10 9-1? I mean, yeah, golden temple is a bit hard, but I only used like, half an hour-1 hour and 50 or so lives to do it. No, the real problem is 5-K. Basically, Snow Barrel Blast, but now you have to control DK in the air too. That took me a lot of time, and several full balloon stocks. Heck, I even used a second controller to get free DK barrels, with extra HP boosts! Forest is undoubtedly the hardest world of DKCR. Probably more so than Volcano.
It's actually funny how much harder wiz pig is in challenge 1 compared to challenge 2. Especially if you pick bumper in challenge 2. Shit is too easy then. I also didn't find snow barrel blast hard. Just long and tedious more than anything. I found basement blackout harder.
There's still ways to get more ahead it's not the easiest it's all about perfect control on your turning and managing every boost the right way and not getting caught in the hazards
@@insectduel He did do that though. The boost that causes a green flame. You let go of the break and you go even faster. He did all the right things and just barely won.
Diddy Kong racing wizpig wasn't the hardest Wizpig part 2 now... good luck Gotta master flight controls Idk about ds version but n64 all I remember was struggling getting the plane controls down and fighting him again with it was hell
It's all about the timing and spacing in the lighting fields and the boosts I barely had much trouble with the flight controls cuz the game literally teaches it the dragon is the best way to learn
The trouble is if you don't use glitches, it would take a long time collecting enough colored bananas to enter a boss door. Add in that every level has 25 golden bananas and one level takes close to an hour even knowing where each of the golden bananas are, especially with challenging minigames.
I managed to find that hidden barrel in Snow Barrel Blast by complete accident when i played it with my friend on NSO
Lol same here. I mistimed it and found it alone. Still had to watch a 100% playthrough...
Me too. Played it with my five year old brother and he hit the wrong direction of the barrel and ended up in the secret barrel. Our jaws dropped for a good minute 😂

DKC: Snow Barrel Blast
Donkey Kong Land: Oil Drum Slum
DKC 2: Toxic Tower and Animal Antics
Donkey Kong Land 2: Animal Antics
DKC 3: Rocket Rush
Donkey Kong Land 3: Ghoulish Grotto if you're wondering
Diddy Kong Racing: Wizpig 1

I wholeheartedly agree! Animal Antics is quite a challenge
Not even a DK64 level/golden banana is in this list? That game is probably the hardest donkey kong game I ever played!
DK Land: Can't agree on this one. For me, the toughest level was the sky level where you have to jump to change the direction of the platform.
D K! Difficulty King!
Where is DK64?

I love Mario Vs. Donkey Kong: Miniland Mayhem so much, especially as a kid, I'm pretty sure I 100% completed that game as a kid
RW:got to admit even if they are hard levels, they still have good music playing in them

Now I see why I couldn't get through that Toxic Tower level in Donkey Kong Country 2, I wasn't doing the spring thing right

Other levels including Poisonous Pipeline, Stampede Sprint and Swoopy Salvo are the most brutal levels in DKC3.

Those turns man it still pains me today literally had a hard time still on my 64 cuz I wanted to play it again
do you guys think the donkey kong country returns HD (switch) game will have the bonus world that the 3DS version had?

Is Donkey Kong 64 not good enough to be mentioned here?
You know that wizpig is hard because diddy passed him at the very end and wizpig was very close.
This. I was thinking he can’t be that hard. But Diddy hit every booster and did every booster trick to still _barely_ win.
Unless you beat the walrus boss the first time before the silver coin challenge, Taj will give you tips about the booster exploit that players missed.
