You guy’s always have great content in your videos because y’all are always working showing how hard you really have to work in Alaska. There is nothing simple about living there. Hard work definitely pays off then you can have fun in your cabin on the lake. Sending lots of love from VA.
That log splitter is incredible. There's something satisfying watching the woodpile grow and knowing that it will keep you all warm inside during those harsh winters. The irony is that I live in a tropical state in Australia, I have all the conveniences that city life affords. Our lives couldn't be more different. I love that your living your dream life. I'd love to experience it lol. I actually want to live away from people, no neighbours, no noise. I have created my own way of living in a city quietly. I also love the way you guys work together and you both work hard. No obvious gender divide of chores. You both just get it done. It's awesome because you guys enjoy each other's company genuinely. Fave channel xo
Something about the cold makes for some exceptionally tough women. When there's work to get done it ain't about what's between your legs, it's all about what you got in your skull and hangin off the end of your arms.
I am watching this as my relaxation technique before I go to bed. As usual, another great video and the music matched the photographic scenery perfectly. Eric and Ariel - you have a fan and follower for life.
Don't tell my wife, but I'm ready for winter and its only mid-May. No garden to tend, no grass to cut. Winter in the north is quiet and beautiful. After many years of living in the far north, I couldn't wait for winter to end, now I'm content with it.
😍Boy do I remember stacking wood in the wood shelter! From there to the covered front deck & then to floor to ceiling area inside the house. Splinters & spiders but theres nothing like the fire of a wood burning stove for ambience, heat & cooking when the power went out. Miss all that. ❤️ your Vids so much, congrats on 500k!
I almost cannot think of anything as beautiful as seeing you two standing eating wraps beside a small fire and in a scenery so fantastic. You really understand to get the best out of life. All the best to you and your boys.
Greetings from 92-degree Palm Springs! Your dogs are adorable! Neither of you are afraid to put in the work, that's for sure. While it may be Simple Living, it's constant hard work. I love that you both share in it equally and have such great support for each other. The love between you two is obvious and so heartwarming to witness. Great videos of the frozen river, snow covered forest, and all the surroundings. I can't wait to watch each of your videos as soon as they show up on my screen. Love you both, stay simple, stay warm, and keep loving each other. Can't wait for the next video..... God Bless.
I just turned 60 a few days ago. I spent too many years being invincible that by the time I figured out I wasn't, it was too late for my body to recover. I let life get in the way of my dreams and now it's physically too late to achieve my dreams. I now have to live vicariously through channels like this and I congratulate this couple on living this life they want.
I used to watch 'Life Below Zero' a couple of years ago just trying to understand how folk survive the Alaskan winters. This channel is so much better!! and well filmed. As a Scot now living in OZ because the UK winters were too cold for me I have total respect for these two showing how things are done. Love the Doggos as adventure buddies
You both work so hard to be self sufficient. It is such a joy to witness your teamwork. Thank you for sharing your life on UA-cam! Having spent time living off grid, I understand the effort. I also miss the freedom of it. My Mom needed me, so I am back in a city, attached to the grid... I saw many people fail because they did not work well together. I saw people who could not make it because they lacked the work ethic to needed to survive off the grid. So much respect for both of you!
You guys are so productive, it’s so motivating to watch. Loved the sound of the slushy river flowing and the gorgeous views everywhere and of course the great looking food. Thanks for another great one. See you soon😊
Don't know what award you deserve with the videos: it will have to be one that makes it to the world press. I wish I were a bird when I see your drone footage. Majestic!
Just a small tip, as I'm splitting I use a wheel barrel along side of the splitter which I fell up. then just wheel into the wood shed, less work and bending over :) Great show you both !!! :)
I was so happy to see your video tonight. One of my dearest friends passed away today. She was a photographer and had an opportunity to go to Alaska a couple years ago. I enjoy the beauty of not only your state but how you live. I know why she wanted to go back for more photos. Thanks for the smile
Wow! I don't think I have ever seen such beautiful snow! What great drone shots! The trees are spectacular loaded with snow like that. Down here in OK, the snow is usually wind driven and with so many open fields, roads get blocked pretty fast. But luckily, that doesn't happen much. Hey congrats, you two, that 1/2 MILLION subs is a long way from where you were when I started watching! I admire the fact that you DO live a SIMPLE life, while steadily investing in more properties. Bravo, very smart!!!

Wow! you two are doing better and better videos. The snow covered trees and the overhead of the ice flows in the river were beautiful. Not to mention the following woodland fly over. Keep it up! Your work ethic and the beauty of Alaska keep me coming back.
The sound of wood splitting is so uniquely satisfying! Then again, I feel like most clips that you capture are very satisfying. Your videos always remind me to slow down and appreciate the little things in my day-to-day life. Love you guys, sending my love to you from the UK! x

Greeting from Colorado. Please be careful when you stand at the edge of the frozen river bank. I have fallen a couple of times during duck hunts. Luckily the water was knee high. Rivers in AK are much much deeper. I watch your show all the time. Happy Holidays.
It's amazing snow landscape you have. In Denmark, the winter is usually wet and dirty with very little snow, so I'm a little jealous of you. I watch your videos I’ve already seen at night before going to bed…..so beautiful and serene and calming…..makes me happy just watching you both and the pups of course!! ❤️💫🐶🐶💫❤️
The aerial footage is incredible. I wish we had real winters here in northern France instead of rain, humidity and slush whenever it "snows". I am watching as I take my second (apparently torture once wasnt enough) pregnancy diabetes test, and even with the nausea caused by the test, your food made me wanna have a nice big sandwich as soon as I walk out (9am here...). I swear you guys have saved my will to eat (and live!) throughout this pregnancy with you delicious looking recipes.
Starting at 17:23 up to 17:31, I don't care who you are that is probably the best shot I've seen all year! I'm relieved to see y'all set for the winter when it comes to wood and food. The only other thing I feel the need to say is to have a guide line tied from the house to the main structures you must reach. I feel like this winter might be a pretty tough one and if so, you'll need to be able to maneuver around without getting lost in a white out.
Congrats on 500K !!!! You folks deserve it. I have a soft spot for old dogs and always look forward to seeing Beau. Great winter pics. Alaska was always on my bucket list but I don't think it's going to happen. So I live my dream through you 2.

Having that wood splitter is a blessing, you can really crank out wood with that machine. There’s just something therapeutic to me in the whole process of wood splitting. Plus, not to mention the workout you get! (move over Pelaton) Who else can have a gourmet salmon taco in the middle of working up wood??? Like everyone else, I look so forward to each video! The best 41 minutes of my day! I’m watching this while my husband and I are camping in eastern Tenn. and we think 22 degrees last night was cold! You guy’s always have great content in your videos because y’all are always working showing how hard you really have to work in Alaska. There is nothing simple about living there. Hard work definitely pays off then you can have fun in your cabin on the lake. Sending lots of love from VA.
Hello Debbie how are you doing today
Many thanks! :)
Don't tell my wife, but I'm ready for winter and its only mid-May. No garden to tend, no grass to cut. Winter in the north is quiet and beautiful. After many years of living in the far north, I couldn't wait for winter to end, now I'm content with it.
The scenery and music is painfully beautiful
😍Boy do I remember stacking wood in the wood shelter! From there to the covered front deck & then to floor to ceiling area inside the house. Splinters & spiders but theres nothing like the fire of a wood burning stove for ambience, heat & cooking when the power went out. Miss all that. ❤️ your Vids so much, congrats on 500k!
I almost cannot think of anything as beautiful as seeing you two standing eating wraps beside a small fire and in a scenery so fantastic. You really understand to get the best out of life. All the best to you and your boys.
The drone footage was stunning! And, as always, enjoyable video with well-chosen music! Thanks for sharing with us!
Greetings from 92-degree Palm Springs! Your dogs are adorable! Sitting here in flip-flops mesmerized by the winter wonderland that surrounds you -- There's something so enchanting & serene about all that snow! I'm exhausted just watching you both work your asses off. Wishing you all the best, stay warm!
This isn't a vlog, it's a nature documentary! I have only recently discovered your channel but I have been swept in by your incredible way of living. It really makes me think more about how I want to live my life.
I feel like we've been blessed with a lot of videos recently, things are great!
Congrats on 500k!! You guys must be so proud of your hard work!!!
.. Wow those drone shots were gorgeous!! The cinematography of your videos is always spectacular to behold
Those slushes of ice in the river were magestic! Me living in a tropical country feels so much relaxsation watching your video. You guys are my favorite
God Bless.
The river is amazing! Thanks for sharing. 🙏❤🙏
♥️♥️💯
The close ups of the wood splitter making those logs crack and snap was very satisfying. Y'all made an ASMR video without even trying! 😆
I was so happy to see your video tonight. One of my dearest friends passed away today. She was a photographer and had an opportunity to go to Alaska a couple years ago. I enjoy the beauty of not only your state but how you live. I know why she wanted to go back for more photos. Thanks for the smile
Sorry for your loss. Hoping for lots of smiles when you think about her.
Form the United States north east. I love your channel. The love and friendship you two have is beautiful. Thank you for sharing with the rest of us and merry Christmas
Hello. My name is Clela and I just started watching. I wont the two of you to know how much I in joy watching you both. You are so blessed to live the way you do and seam to in joy working side by side. May God keep blessing the two of you.
Fantastic drone footage. The trees look magical!
The video display and scenery is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing. I so look forward to seeing your videos
Absolutely wonderful...everything! You folks are in God's country 🙏. It truly warms my heart to see a beautiful, young couple like you living clean and working so hard...together. You both encompass what Alaska means...living free. God bless you both.
Wow! you two are doing better and better videos.
Love you guys, sending my love to you from the UK! x
Hello Christine how are you doing today
Absolutely stunning aerial drone footage, guys! The footage of the icy river and the snowy trees is so breathtaking. It was like being in a dream.
Hello Angela how are you doing today.
Wow ! Probably one of your best episodes yet. The Cinematography, Editing and choice of music was outstanding. What a beautiful place
Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Congratulations on going over 500k subscribers! You guys are great!
When I found this channel they had 20k.
With their great content, they will just keep growing, and they never beg for a like or subscribe.
The drone footage and music... Wow such tranquility! Had to watch it twice, once for the footage and second with closed eyes. Wow enjoyed it so much! Thank you
Dude I would love to live off grid like this man so much peace and quiet and away from people!
"Slushing down the river."
Yes, slushing is the proper verb.
Hope that next year you can get one of those neat log splitters. That is the most useful thing that I've ever seen.
Closed Captioning calls the buzz saw = applause. ☺
Thank you for sharing, it looks so cold but so beautiful. Stay warm and safe this winter, and make lots of videos for us to see here in Texas.
Guys, congrats on 500 thousand subscribers!!!! Its truly amazing to watch how far you two have come. Your videos are always unique, always done with thought and precision. It shows time and time again when we watch another video of your wonderful lives in Alaska!!! Look forward to a Million , and you will get there!!!!
I to are glad you two came here to join us in Alaska you were meant to be here keep your industrial ways for your work ,I only hope your with us for a long time thank you for your kindness. T
I learned so much from this video! We moved from an urban area to the mountains and your channel has taught us so many things about living in a snowy environment! (For example, wood needs to be seasoned). It sparks further research, and its so much appreciated. 🤗
Greeting from Colorado. Please be careful when you stand at the edge of the frozen river bank. I have fallen a couple of times during duck hunts. Luckily the water was knee high. Rivers in AK are much much deeper. I watch your show all the time. Happy Holidays.
I thought the same thing! That was some serious current flowing too.
It's amazing snow landscape you have. In Denmark, the winter is usually wet and dirty with very little snow, so I'm a little jealous of you. I have experienced real winter (very rarely) in Denmark, but I am not sure that my grandchildren will experience it in the same way here. I'm 73 now
Have a good day thank you for your lovely videos
The snow falling off of the high tunnel was SO satisfying to watch!
Congrats on your subscriber milestone!
It is so calming watching that wood splitter, as I sit on my couch in short sleeves thinking it is getting chilly and I should close the back door.
"A man (or couple :) who cuts his own wood warms himself twice." Henry Ford
Arielle & Eric, these are the days. Thanks for all of your efforts bringing these videos to us.
Happy Thanksgiving! Michael T (PDX ;)
My three kitties and I watched this video, and they are in the back, packing our bags, getting ready to move in with you folks. We will arrive on the Tuesday after next week. We bring nothing but big appetites and a sense of humor. Not too bad for an old warhorse and his family. BTW, I love your dogs. They are a true reflection of their human family.
You guys have really outdone yourselves with the opening footage! Breath taking 😍! 500k subs!!! 👏👏👏
Congrats on 500K subscribers! Best channel on UA-cam, hand down. Thanks for all the amazing content - with how hard you both work, I have no idea how you find time to edit videos, but so glad that you do!
Long winter nights are a good time.
Hands down.
Hello Beautiful how are you doing today.
@@diegoclark6832 😂😂😂😀
@@diegoclark6832bro you be tryna get at all the women up here 😂😂
I watch your videos I’ve already seen at night before going to bed…..so beautiful and serene and calming…..makes me happy just watching you both and the pups of course!! ❤️💫🐶🐶💫❤️
Those drone shots though...dope.
((Hug))
😝😝😝😝
Your videos are by far the most beautiful, pure, interesting and directly at your everyday's life as one can imagine. You are living the life I've always dreamed of. Thanks for sharing your realized dream!
I get lost in your videos. The footage of the river flowing was incredible! Wood splitting days are my favorite. Your channel is like Nat Geo on steroids, yet with a personal side! The drone footage is breathtaking! Thank you for including us in your adventure! 🏔
I love seeing these daily life video's that you guys put out. To watch you work together and enjoy doing projects with one another.
Hello Amy how are you doing today.
You two work like a well oiled machine!
I especially love the Machine Airelle is working with!
Kind of your neighbor to let you use it.
Hard work gets you great rewards!
Congratulations Arielle and Eric for reaching 500K subscribers! Another awesome video to match. I’ve been a subscriber of your channel for quite some time now and I eagerly look forward to every video. You are both such hard workers and AMAZING videographers! Thank you for allowing us to share in your adventure of life. Kind regards from Melbourne, Australia. Cheers, Jeff. 👍😀🏠🥩🎄🦘
Stunning footage of the river. Thank you and stay warm!
Even though your day to day is heavy and tough, it is much better than having to deal with a boss or a company telling you how to live your life. You made it. You are living the freedom we long for.
Beautiful scene and choice of music for such a majestic place. Wonderful videography! ! ! You two bring joy to us with every video. The new shelters will be nice for this winter ahead. Rewarding for all the hard work.
Beautiful drone footage! Absolutely stunning! I'm in Spokane WA and it's been snowing most of the day.
Hi Catherine, I’m in Spokane Valley. 😄 👋
Great video keep doing winter hunting videos
@@jenniferwilkerson6495 Hello Jennifer how are you doing today
Stunning drone work! Congrats on half a million subs!
I stumbled across your videos and I must say you guys are one of my favorites now to watch😍 I love the way y'all work together, and you guys seem so happy. It's very beautiful, you have a wonderful life it looks like. Alaska is one of my dream destinations.....one day I'm going.....Thank you please keep the videos coming
I love your uploads. I yelled "nooo" when you fed your chickens 🐟 because i know what their eggs will taste like the next day 😨. I figure they are not laying now anyways. The scenery is magic and you capture it with an artist's touch. Thanks for sharing!
What a beautiful day!! Food is harvested and stored, wood shed is full, chores are done and to top it off - all that beautiful scenery!! Thank you for sharing your day!! 💖
What a great video. Its awe inspiring to realize just how isolated you two are and how important it is to be self reliant. Thumbs up!
You know this summer when I was mowing our yard for like the 100th time, I thought gee Eric and Arielle are so lucky they never have to mow!
THEN it hit me. They plow snow all the time and we don't here. The weather is a little warmer when mowing too. But I sure love your winters your Drone footage looks like something out of a movie. Beautiful scenery! Loved the video.
miss Arielle and mr Eric, hope I didn’t ruin the spelling of ur names.have been following guys for awhile now,I love the old way of life just like y’all.i was raised on a farm in NC,and my brother and I own that now.i love to hunt, fish, camp and live life like I am in the 60’s.after almost 18 yrs with the DOD,I am tapping out and flying back home to my lovely wife of 15yrs.i have been outside the US for 10+ of those yrs.we have 6 dogs,2 cats and 2 birds.i will be leaving S/Korea on September 1st.i plan on keeping up with u guys as I enjoy the retired life.thank u so much for taking me along on all of the adventures,u guys are definitely one of my favorites.may God continue to bless and keep u both as u live and enjoy ur dreams.be safe🇺🇸
How wonderfully odd....the overhead views of the river? The ice patches reminded me so much of lichen on stones.
The brightness of the ice, against the stoney grey of the water. Very beautiful reminder that the "easy" weather is over
