- Hunting on opening day, with my Super Magnum 48 - 50@28. Shot´s fired at 3:23
After hunting this spot at mid day, it came to my knowledge that there was a roe with two buck fawns in this area. I missed the chance at mid day, because they wouldent stand still. Therefore it wasen´t possible to make a ethical shot at one of them. But at my evening hunt it played out otherwise.
Harvesting fawns is normal procedure in Danish deer management. This roe deer have lived the free life until it contributing for food on the table.

That Sound when the Arrow impacts the deer body is amazing!
Enjoyed the video. Great to join you on the blood trail😀
Another great adventure! Congratulations on a nice harvest ✌
Thank you
Congrats! Anything taken with trad gear is a trophy! You reacted fast and made a good shot!
jarrid carter Thanks! I saw he was on his way from the left, so I was ready for him. I knew i had to be fast, because of early’er experience. Thanks for watching.
@@peterjuulsgaard thanks for posting man! What poundage you shooting?
jarrid carter it’s a 50 at 28” i’m drawing about 27”. Check out my other trad kills. I got some with different bows.
Good Job.
Congrats on a great opening Peter👍🤠
Beautiful shot! I'm really liking my 40# Supermag.. So much so I just bought a 48# one to see if I can get a little more distance..so far 18-20 yds is my maximum range..15 yds I think would be my maximum for deer here in Michigan but I will try to get the new one in tune and see how it feels. My 40# is shooting very clean with 50-55 tapered shaft cedar 32" in length using 125 tips and broad heads all up weight 530gr I'm thinking of going with 60-65 cedar for the 48# because with my 29" draw ill be 52# or so...anyhow really enjoy your style of hunting and archery videos!
Thanks and good luck with the practice👌
More hunting video with supermug 48... nice bow... ❤
I don´t have that bow anymore, sorry. But thank´s for watching
Awesome shot. I really like my super mag 48 from grayling .although I have only used it a couple of times to harvest javelina. It’s in the rotation for whitetail and mule deer.
Love your vidios my friend!! Thank you!
Great hunt after not so easy conditions, the noise really makes it difficult to concentrate on the shot and makes the deer nervous as well, so this was not an easy one and still a clean kill, keep up the good work 💪🏼🏹
Generalmajor Trull Thanks! I’m glad you liked it.
Great eating there!
Very nice job!
Excellent hunt--and good for you for only going for the ethical shot. That is sportsmanship at its best. (I just ordered a Bear SuperMag 48. It will take months to make & deliver because of the COVID-19 lockdown but the wait will be worth it.)
Thanks for watching and good luck with the Super Mag.
Your a great bow hunter and a great camera man,,,,, class man,,, Great and thanks.
Your welcome
Great hunt, congrats!
fisherdave57 Thanks!
The deer went toward you to leave you, lowered and shot solid body shot
The wide cut is your friend on small deer
This was a very nice video Peter! I enjoyed watching it. I like your hooded jacket, is it from Fred Asbell? The earth toned colors work very well for camouflage and I appreciate that you use face paint to kill the pink glow from your face. I do the same thing. Your bow is nice looking and I like the way you camouflaged it with the leaves. A very nice little deer for eating for sure. I will subscribe and watch your videos in the future.
James Cooper Thank you!
James Cooper Ohh! I forgot to answer! Yes that is Asbell wool. Thanks for watching
great shot, I am considering the Kodiak at 50lbs. really like the looks of it, am looking for a used one right now, may settle for a Grizzly though.
Both are nice bows!
when we buy Greenland we will come over to Denmark for some hunting :)))
HAHAHAHA
My Super Mag is a wall ornament. Limb twisted unfortunately. I have a Bear Kodiak Mag at 52 inches that is pretty handy in a ground blind or cramped quarters.
Mine died too at the end. Broke just after the fadeout on upper limb. The Kodiak mag is a better option
@@peterjuulsgaard I think 52 inches is about the max to push the physics when drawing a short bow. The only way they pulled it off at 48 inches was an extremely tall brace height, which I am sure reduces arrow velocity because of such a short power stroke. My Super Kodiak is my favorite bow to shoot, draw, hold, etc., but the Kodiak magnum is handier. I think Fred Bear mostly stuck with bows around the 60 inch range, but he did not use ground blinds or even tree stand hunted much. He was a stalker, bushwacker, stillhunter. I have killed deer from the ground, but usually, you either get a shot, or get busted, and nothing in between. Much more successful out of tree stands.
Great video...do you use 3 under or split finger?
Micidiale870 3 under
I own a lot of bows and shot even more but never got the opportunity to shoot one of those 48's. How do you like it?
ISLAND SPICE HAWAII I like it alot in close quarters
What are your thoughts on the Bear Super Magnum 48? Great video. 👍🏻
The Supermag 48 is great for blinds and tree’s. Especially if your drawlenght isn’t the longest. I would say no more than 28 inches. If your in doubt, you could go with the Kodiak Magnum instead, wich are 52 inches. Thanks for watching
Curious.. Why is taking fawns part of the management plan? Not being critical, just curious.
Thats because the adult doe’s are having 2-3 fawns the year after. If I’m taking the doe out, I’m actually killing several deer in one shot. So that was one reason. Another reason is that the doe is still nursing the fawns in october, not that they have to, but they do. However! It’s still a good idea to take out a lonely doe, cause there is a good chance, she is old. The older does are chasing the younger deer out of the area. This is more or less the way roedeer are managed in Europe.
@@peterjuulsgaard ahhhh... Taking out adult does is what our plans here in the States do. Precisely for the reason of taking out 2-3 deer. Population control. Our fawns will still try to nurse as lo g as they are with the doe. I have watched them try only to get kicked in the head by the doe. I understand you explanation. Makes sense. Thank you.
what is the lightest wieght S M 48 comes in LBs
You have to check out Bear Archery’s website for the answer. Thanks for watching
What arrow spine are you using and arrow weight.
In this video I’m using Gold Tip Entrada spine 500 with a 100 grain brass insert, and a Zwickey Delta 4 blade. Arrow weight is around 485 grain. The bow is 50@28 and I’m pulling it around 27 inches
Excellent video.
I especially enjoyed watching the expressions on your face as you worked through the blood sign while tracking......genuinely intense and focused.
I'm given to understand from talking with former President and CEO of ATA, Jay McAninch, that there are very few opportunities in Europe for bowhunting; it is not well received or legal, as yet.
So I find this clip especially interesting, informative and enjoyable.....had no idea you could bowhunt in Denmark.
I can't speak for audiences elsewhere, but having farm equipment noise in the background here in America is no big deal......no apologies required.
And in fact, for many of us who bowhunt deer in suburban settings, one might be simultaneously listening to vehicle traffic, a neighboring lawn mower, children playing in someone's yard a few doors down, a dog barking somewhere on another neighboring property and, of course, people conversing on their back porch......as several deer casually stroll by and I place an arrow through the boiler room......the deer runs, drops dead.....and no one within earshot knows what I have just done.
So, don't sweat the machinery in the background.....that's nothing.
Finally, nice bow.....nice shot.....and congratulations on a tasty Roe!
Johnny Rotten Thank you! I’m glad you liked it. We can bowhunt in Denmark if we have a Bowhunting license to the type of bow we want to hunt with. Comp. Rec. Or longbow. We also need to pass a theoretical and a shooting test to get that license. We have to renew the test every 5th. year. Thanks for watching and if your interrested I have some other hunts to watch here on youtube.
