Implementing the VIX call strategy is complicated. Anyone thinking about doing that should make sure to do a lot of research first. Main problem stems from the fact that VIX is not a tradable security and the price of the options is based on VIX futures.

And remember the Counter Party is the Market Maker.
Your contracts are the book they make. They shape the book with your orders.
So of course they can see your stop loss.
Of course they can see all the orders at key zones of support.
They make the order book after all.
And now bots/algos can run the chart with precision. It’s elegant in a way.
They see all the orders at a set price. They know there is liquidity. They see all the buyers.
But you are in their way. They don’t want to buy at this buy wall. They want it cheaper.
So as they are spiking price down to flush out leveraged longs they blast pass your limit buy and fill your order for you.
But they scooped up at a cheaper price then you.
And they will be happy to sell back to you when you fomo into another green candle.
This is why I often place limit buys that feel foolish. And if you look at the books you will see liquidity all the way to 0.
Some of them are spoofs. But some are normal people making the books at the deep levels.
Who knows.
