I think the issue for some people is being completely unable to put in extra work or just any work outside the actual job you're doing. And if you do both burnout can happen so quick. But you have great points on this
That’s why I recommend people reduce their expenses and find jobs with alternative schedules. If you’re devoting 40+ hours a week to a job that isn’t directly giving you skills to be self employed, you won’t have the energy to develop these skills before or after work.
Yeah I feel you. From my experience it comes down to a threshold: The pain of wanting a better life has to exceed the pain of working towards it. It’s a simple concept, but that is where energy comes from. If you can feel the time you devote leading you somewhere you want to be, it will feel less like work and more like grabbing a vine and pulling yourself out of a pit of quicksand. For me, that was practicing a new skill outside of work to change from a crappy career to one I enjoy. For others it may be a new business or hobby etc.
Love this!! Preach it! After running a business for 8 years wow i must say I am LOVING my day job. Its a company I believe in, doing something I love (trading woohoo) and the people are so legend. I'm less stressed than I was running a music business, working for brands and making content. (Although that was a fun time don't get me wrong, but social media definitely is skewed!)

The info in this video is right on! I left my full time salary job at the beginning of 2021, worked as a freelancer all of 2021, and started my real estate media business at the beginning of 2022. It’s definitely hard work and takes a ton of dedication. I think most people nowadays don’t understand the “grind” and don’t realize most businesses take years to actually get off the ground and make money. Too much work for people once they get into it and realize that it’s not an overnight thing. Great video man!

The market doesn't care about your passion, it cares about whatever it wants. And what it wants might not be your passion. The key is to combine value with something you enjoy.
"social media has made people feel bad about having a nine to five job" Damn bro this is so true, it's like everybody should start their own business but then there would be no workers and the whole economy would collapse :D
I used to feel the same way but i have figured that's not true cause if everyone tried business competition will increase and most will fail and return to normal jobs but unfortunately not like before but feeling sad for failing and feeling they are a looser. It really depends on the Individual and the type of business you decided to run. It takes mental fortitude that most people don’t really have the capacity for because of the glorified view of “entrepreneurship”. Also learning the power of outsourcing and system optimization is huge as well. Most people start a business for the “freedom” that can come with it but never take themselves out of the business so they end up making less than some 9-5’s while technically working more. Also there are almost no ceilings in running your own business but once again it just depends on the individual and their personal goals.
I quit my job, took on $10,000 in debt, and had nothing to my name. In less than a few months I turned my -$10,000 into a multi million dollar business. Ever since I was a child, I had one dream. Be a successful business owner. Thought I had to go to college, and slave away my entire life to raise capital. None of that’s true. Just wake up one day, decided today I’m doing it. And that’s when I did it. It’s that simple. No secret.
Normally, people that recommend being an entrepeneur havent had a good experience with a normal job and only the succesful "entrepeneurs" have the platform with more exposure so what the content that the normal young guy gets to see on YT is only the "job = bad. being your own boss = good".
Hey everyone, my dad owns an asphalt company that I’m working towards owning one day. I really never thought it would be this much work, working 7-5 every day of the week, being outside in 97 degree heat and doing endless paperwork. If you think you can do this, go for it! It’s super rewarding once the work is done but hard when working!

I really don't think people who want to start a business quiting 9-5 are as naïf as you seem to portray. We don't fall for dumb adds. I want to work hard, even harder than 9-5. But what most 9-5ers are lacking or straight up missing is REAL motivation. Feel ownership and proud of what we do. And trust me, is not something you can really feel on a 9-5 most of the times, you can fool yourself for a while and pretend you do, but it'll come back bite your @ss eventually. I flush down the toilet 8hrs a day doing something I could not care less about on a HUUUUGE company for a decent paycheck. But it's not mine, it's not for me. There is no sense of meaningfullness (if that's even a word, English is not my 1st language). there is no sense of accomplishment that makes the tireness and pain worth it. So by all means viewer 2nd guess and think twice before jumping, cause the work is hard. But don't get discouraged and back to your comfort zone just cause a guy who on a youtube channel says so. Life's just 1, don't waste it on a job you hate ♥️
it's not about falling for dumb ads, it's about the "hustle culture" trying to convince everyone they should have some sort of side hustle or start a business or whatever. plenty of people can find contentment and security in a 9-5.
It's risky. Some businesses aren't sustainable no matter how much you effort you put on. I think the most difficult thing about entrepreneurship is being good enough in certain field to create a business from it
I think the biggest thing people don't realize when they want to quit their 9-5 job and become an entrepreneur, is that they'll be working 24/7 instead.

I've been saying this to my friends and family for a while. It's common for me to hear that a 9-5 isn't for me. My thoughts are... A stable job, where you have holidays and weekends usually off, where you have PTO and benefits, where you work indoors with peace of mind, that kind of job isn't for you? I understand that typical 9-5 jobs can be boring, just like being a business owner means working overtime with no pay and increasing stress and learning to manage people etc... every job has its pros and cons. At the end of the day work is work. I appreciate this kind of video

Ah. Such a good post...the world now seems determined to make everyone think they are a failure if they work full-time. I was full-time for 17 years before I quit and became a full-time photographer. But I had a leg-up on the competition since my full-time position was as a director of photography and I was pretty clear-eyed where I stood within the industry talent-wise. That was in 2000 and have been freelance since. I have worked extremely hard at both the full-time job and then as a freelancer. ( I consider my self successful at what I do and while not the best, I still to this day get hired--today I had 4 holds put on my calendar--not necessarily the norm, unfortunately). I often work 7 days a week. I agree with your take on this but unless you are comfortable working basically around the clock, freelance might not be for you. And the main reason to incorporate (or form LLC entities as I did) is asset protection. My partner and I (he also is in the industry) have several LLC entities just to protect our assets. When we had our photo studio rental business in NYC (in addition to my photography business and his styling business ) we had full time employees--the largest, single expense to most businesses. We have since moved to Chicago and have a similar business but on a smaller scale and can run this second business by ourselves with infrequent part time hirings. I would say the most important thing for me prior to leaving my full-time job was saving money. I saved money probably for two years before I quit so that if I wasn't hired once in a year I could still manage all my expenses. Another piece of advice would be to clear about your talents and when to hire help to get your self going. If you have a great eye for style but maybe lack a bit technically, hire a super assistant who can take that pressure off yourself even if it means seeing a bit less income.
