Whatever type of investment you decide to get into, I think the key message here, or for me rather is to start investing no matter how small. Don't rush into anything you're not absolutely sure of. Then of course you can always build from there.

What is small? What's small for you might be pretty large for someone else.

I was really hopeful of my investments this year, but all
my plans has been disoriented, I've been studying the
market crashes and I realized some investors made
millions from the recent 2008 recession and I was
wondering if such success rate could be achieved in this
present market. and the Federal Reserve taking a more
hawkish approach to interest rates and bond purchase tapering, a correction is underway

I finally opened a Vanguard account last year and "earned"around £3,000 in interest. I was always of the opinion that my money would grow in my bank account. Proves how little financial education we receive. It's like there are people who have a vested interest in making sure normal folk don't actually try to save. Thanks for the tips.

You need to open a retirement account of some type your contributions are tax deductible and protected from creditors.

  • @Iक्रिप्टोइंडिया-n5p

In order to grow your money, you need to put it in a place where it can earn a high rate of return. The higher the rate of return, the more money you will earn. Investment vehicles tend to offer the opportunity to earn higher rates of return than savings accounts. Therefore, if you want the chance to earn a higher return on your money, you will need to explore investing your money.

Thanks man. I meant to set something up almost 16 years ago when I read "I Will Teach You To Be Rich" by Ramit Sethi. Then I moved abroad and stopped investing. That was a very expensive decision. But it's a sunk cost. Your video got me to actually set up monthly auto-investing just now :) Thank you. FYI if anyone has a Schwab account, SWTSX has automatic investing with a $100 monthly minimum.

Compound interest is a great thing except you don't get that with shares. Yeah, you can annualize your return but there;s no compounding effect taking place. You buy 1 share of TSLA today at $1000 per share and sell it in 5 years for $1500. you only made $ 500. Great video for beginners however.

i have done that video and it didn't really get many views (ua-cam.com/video/R8-Mzjcwr2A/v-deo.html). there are still so many people that have no idea where to start when it comes to stocks, so if they like my approachable style and are looking for a current video on the topic, this is a good place to start. and like nick b said - it brings in new viewers which is kind of key when youtube is your job.
