Hey Jake, loving the content. I am currently injured too. Smashed a 30 second pb off my park run time and have had a painful quad since. It’s amazing to see someone who’s life evolves more of running than myself and staying so motivated and smiling throughout! Wishing you a speedy recovery
I didn’t run for 6 weeks (2 weeks in a boot!) and ran my half marathon PR of 82 mins at the GNR with only 6 weeks of running training! The cross training can get you really fit and it just takes a few weeks to regain the running strength but I genuinely think a lot of people can come back stronger than if they hadn’t got injured!
You’re going to do amazing in outdoor. I think you probably needed a break from the indoor season anyway after such a huge year last year. You seem really pumped now and focused for outdoor which is great. The time off has done you good! Can’t wait to see you race later in the year!!!!Thanks for sharing the video.
As someone who's had a calf injury the last 4 weeks the cross trainer and rower are now my best friend! Be sorry to see them go😔😄 Great video Jake, looking forward to seeing you back on track👍
This is really encouraging for me to see I’ve been struggling with shin splints for awhile now and now I want to get back into working hard on getting better
Free tip from a cursed shin- Ice after run then cupping/scraping later should do the trick. Then do strengthening in your lower leg (band inversion/Eversion with a resistance band, soleus raises, tibialis raises)
Got a bad ankle (ribbed ligament and sprained ankle) injruy at plyos And am on day 2 good to see you cross training something that I aswell have to do in the next few weeks until I can be finally back to base training and running
@@jakeswightman yeh I’m exactly the same! It’s weird because i run for miles on my own with no music but get me on an elliptical and every minute feels like 10!
Wishing you a speedy recovery!! I was wondering if you recommended any places in America that have athletic facilities and all inclusive style hotel/accommodation? I’m looking to do a couple of weeks before i start my collegiate xc season in august and am looking for the American equivalent of club la Santa/the HATC but cant find one! Not necessarily having to be at altitude just with facilities and everything provided as I will be alone
Osteochondritis dissecans. Been there. 3 surgeries. 3+ rehabs. Foot will never be the same, but doesn’t concern me even running trails, where I prefer to spend my miles.
Very relatable I have been struggling with injury for over 2 years and this gives me hope I can get running again
So relatable. Eugene compared to a world champion 😂😂
Good luck

I've been having IT band issues since January and this video makes me motivated to get Stronger and make a full 100% recovery
Hip mobility in the morning then before I ran saved me bruh
KT tape also reduced some pain
@@user-fp5co6qn7h thanks for the advice

we believe in you cant wait to see the big wins coming soon
Missed the videos! hope you’re recovering well and can’t wait to see you race
Getting over a nasty case of covid and had to take over 5 weeks off as well, the mental struggle is so real sometimes
Dude great video , you’ll be back so strong
back kickin ass in no time!!
Hope the recovery is going well
Just chose to DNF an A race because of a hurt foot, and I really appreciated your perspective. Keep posting
The grind! Good luck dude!
Can you do a video about your strength training routine

Also stretch calf and try to find shin stretches^. The strength training doubles as active recovery and injury prevention
@@user-fp5co6qn7h thanks I’ll try those
Very inspiring, thank you!

Keep it up Jake!
You can do it
Come back Champ.
👌👌excellent insight
I was thinking so cool they have a sand beach in the gym, but then realized it was the long jump pit.
Best wishes to you.
What do you do to pass the time of the cross trainer? Movies? Music? Podcasts?
Yea I can't imagine doing that with nothing
Mostly just music, unless it’s a really long one, then a podcast. I don’t like watching anything as wouldn’t be doing that whilst running!

How where you on the elliptical for 2 1/2 hours da hell I guess that’s what world champions do
Got injured about the same time as Jake and am coming back about the same time!

Slacking
It’s actually runned*
ran*
You just can’t be serious 😂
@@jellekraak7930 he said run. It’s runned because it’s in the past.
@@JackD87 I get that brother but the past tense of run is ran 🤓
