Wow. I'm 46 years old and unfortunately it's my best friends funeral tomorrow. I can't really put into words how much this cover moved me and how important it was that i heard it today. I needed to expel some water from my eyes ready for tomorrow and yep 30 seconds in you had a middle aged weeping. It's easy to think that magic is absent from the world but then you hear a voice like this and you think maybe just maybe it will be ok. From the bottom of my heart thanks both of you

Emily doesn’t know it but she greatly encouraged my wife and I today with this song. I often feel despair with life, burdening my wife in the process. She catches me when I fall. Time after time. I sent my wife this video today, thanking her for rescuing my time after time, and not giving up on me like many others would have.

Cyndi Lauper had been singing for a while but made it to the top I believe in her 30s and this song of the album "She's So Unusual" (1983) was the first debut album by a female artist to achieve four top-five hits on the Billboard Hot 100-"Girls
Just Want to Have Fun", "Time After Time", "She Bop", and "All Through the Night"-and earned Lauper the Best New Artist award at the 27th Grammy Awards in 1985.
You and your brother were great singing this. Also, young lady, though you may not mean to or know, you seem to be picking songs, which were huge hits of their time, put the singers back on the radio, or were some way, shape or form unique in their own way in the music business. Meaning, you keep singing songs, doing outstanding on them, that were not just a regular song.

One of my favorite songs, I love Emily’s voice, but what made me listen to this tonight, was I wanted to hear her take on this as duo, it’s great.
To add from my previous post, Time After Time was one of two favorites (True Colors the other), for me seeing Ms. Lauper appearing on MTV music videos 1983 was like a slap of the face, her energy, way she dress and hair, I loved it all, she is one of my most favorite singers. She too can play many instruments and I believe in one TV special she did an acoustic of some of her songs on that show.
