    I just received my new bag today. They changed the interior to a brown color, which is great, they changed the strap so the buckle is on one side and they supplied the luggage strap.

      That is good to know! I sold this gen one version awhile back. I just bought a messenger bag that I like a lot.

    Thanks for the review. I'm looking for a leather brief case. Might get this one. By the way, are you from Singapore?

      Not SG. HK.

    So their website gives the depth of the counselor as 3.75", and the executive as 5". Maybe it's a renaming/rebranding of the models? Did you think this was too big/deep?

    Great video! Looking into one now myself. Do you still like the bag? How has it held up and is there any sagging in the leather where the outer straps connect?

      I don't have it anymore but I am still a fan of their bags. Take advantage of their cyber monday deals if they have them.

    it looks great. im concern about when it rains. how will it protect my laptop?

    • @PKShiu
      @PKShiu  3 роки тому

      The zipper is not water proof but the laptop is held on the side. I am more worry about it getting the leather wet because you need to let it dry naturally.

    nice review, clear concise, no shuttering well prepared.
    Good pace,
    Stop moving the camera, move the bag instead
    Don't you find the place where they strap the bad is a weak point?

      @PKShiu  6 років тому

      Good advice re camera. The bag is pretty well built. I don't think the strap connection will be a problem. It is riveted and also sewn in.

    Do you still have the bag? If not, what caused you to get rid of it? Thanks.

      Trey McClain I do not have it anymore. I have far more bags in my possessions than what I actually need :-). So just switching up the “inventory” over time.

      PK Shiu I have that problem too. Ha! Trying to decide between this bag and the smaller version, the Diplomat. I like the space provided by this bag but don’t want something too big for daily carry. Did you find this bag to be too big for EDC?

    • @PKShiu
      @PKShiu  4 роки тому +2

      This bag is quite large. More than enough for EDC. If I have to buy another one I would go for the diplomat. Have you look at Defy bags? Their leather ones are interesting also and smaller. Wills Leather works is another company (more expensive).

      PK Shiu I had not heard of those. Just took a quick look. Defy is very interesting. Thanks for the quick responses. This really helps.

    The strap is very disappointing. Will not buy a bag with such a strap.

      @masayako Do you mean the length? Or something else?

    • @joekkl
      @joekkl 6 років тому +1

      I don't like filmy, unburnished leather strap. A well made strap requires the use of heavier oz leather and burnish all around. Satchel & Page cut corners on the strap. Also, the shoulder pad has to be thicker and longer to accommodate movements.

    • @PKShiu

      Ah ok. Make sense. It is a rather lite strap. I agree. They are going for the more sleek look I think. While I appreciate the SBL ruggedness, I personally do not like that style. That's why I went with this sleeker looking bag.

    • @joekkl
      @joekkl 6 років тому

      Totally agree. SBL is an absolute no go. I will not buy from any company using chrome tanned leather on their products. 2 companies I like: Filson waxed canvas briefcase and Vermilyea Pelle briefcase. I like them more. Will make a video for the Vermilyea Pelle briefcase myself eventually. They deserve more visibility and recognition.

      I have 2 of their bags (Diplomat and 4 Way Briefcase) and the shoulder straps are heavy, 8-10 oz. leather. All the edges on my bags (and shoulder straps) are burnished and finished, not unfinished like Saddleback.

    FYI to those looking to buy, they “upgraded their leather” last year and it is now incredibly delicate. I had a bag from this brand that I loved, until my car was broken into one evening, and it was stolen. When I replaced it with the new leather, I basically ruined my bag week 1 from a light jog from one airport gate to another on a short layover. My jeans rubbing against it was enough to do a ridiculous amount of damage. I’m thinking this was not an upgrade, but a cost savings measure.

      FYI Andy is posting this on every UA-cam video related to their bags. I can't find a second opinion that matches their experience. Weird and clumsy customer hit job?

      Have had their bags for a bit now and have no idea what you're talking about.
