How to Sharpen Your Knife with a Car Window

- A sharp knife is a safe knife, and sometimes you just need to give the blade a quick touch up to keep that keen edge. However, we don't always have the equipment we need to keep our blades at their sharpest. In this video Tyler shows us how you can use the top of a car window to hone the edge of your blade.
Depending on the specific car window you're using you might have a higher or lower "grit", but regardless of that, if you use the technique Tyler demonstrates you'll have a sharper blade than what you started with.

@@gregjones9040 Maybe it’s like when Wendy told me that her family house and grandparents house in Grace used to be surrounded by her dads land. He had 2 massive work horses. She’s never based her back story on it though. 🤔 Don’t understand why he’s banking on it. She would never shill her family story.
I think it's more honing basically aligning the edge than sharpening. Like you do with a honing steel in the kitchen, the bottom of a ceramic cup, even a leather strop without aggressive compound. Sharpening is taking material of a dull knife and you normally see the metal residue like on water stones. When you hone a blade it sure performs better and is in fact better for cutting. So I guess in a way it's sharpening a blade. But honing a dull blade back to sharpness is not possible or would take forever. That's when you have to actually sharpen and take material off. So always make sure the knife you bring is sharpened.
But still a good tip to make your knife perform better again. I use my leather belt in the field to strop since I don't have a car and don't use ceramic cups in the field. I don't bring compound but sometimes use some toothpaste on the inside of the belt.
