This was super useful, especially on the topic of how much time you work with kids. That was one of the biggest reasons why I’ve grown to love this field! Thank you and hope to see more wonderful things 😍
I was accepted into graduate school today for school psychology. Your video have been very helpful in choosing this career path. Thank you for inspiring me 😊
oooooo I would not choose a position that didn't let me do counseling. Its for sure a priority for me. Its always nice to hear when school psychs do get to do counseling :)
How difficult was the master grad stats classes compared to your under grad stats? Also, what type of tests? Do the tests that you give the kids computed by hand? Like, how difficult are they to read or compute? I would love to do counseling with the kids!!!!
I love your channel and the content you put out is so helpful and has actually help me make the decision that I do want to become a school psychologist.I graduate in May 2022 with my bachelors in Psychology the only thing that I feel like it’s stressing me out is finding what kind of job I need to be in while I get my graduate degree in school psychology
Thank you for your share! It’s so detailed and helpful. I have a question, do we also need to get a licensure when we do the internship after we graduate from the master’s program?
Love your content!! QQ... Would it be okay with you if I share a link to your channel in my Descriptions on my UA-cam videos for school psychs? If so, do you want to send me exactly what you would like me to share? My goal is to get as many resources out to the field as possible. Thanks for all you are doing and well wishes for the start of the new school year! I still have two weeks remaining in my summer but know many have returned.
I have a question. Im just now starting my school psych program and I don't have visible tattoos but I'm wondering if you think having any would decrease my chances of getting a job in school psych and being taken seriously?
Hi! I think it really depends on the district you are applying to. I have seen school psychologist with tattoos that are visible. However, I have also heard that depending on where the tattoo is and what it is, it can make employers think twice.
You have two little ones? Please tell me how you do it? I’m about to start my graduate program in school psych this upcoming Fall and I’m so nervous since I have two under 4 😅
Yes, I do have two little ones! It is definitely a challenge but doable! You really have to stay organized and figure out what times/days you can dedicate to studying/homework that works with your schedule and your kids' schedule. For example, I usually do all of my homework and studying after 7p once my kids are in bed. Also, I would do some at work when I was able to so that I wouldn't take time away from my kids. If you don't use one already, I suggest getting a planner and staying organized that way :)

I haven't heard that some school psychologists don't get summers off!
So happy I found your channel, can't wait to have one of my own

This is 100% me! I graduate with a BS in Psychology in May and I felt the same way!
You talk about testing students.. what does this mean? What kind of testing do you do as a school psychologist?
I believe they do evaluations for psycho-educational, autism spectrum disorder, intelligence test, achievement test
and so on

In California you get a temporary intern credential so that you can work as an intern.

Do you need a doctorate degree in California or just bachelors and masters?
In California you need to get your masters and your PPS credential in order to practice as a school psychologist. You don't need to have a doctorate.
Masters only & very easy program:)
