For knits you use often, just hang them outside for a while, just not in direct sunlight. Wool is self cleaning, they don’t need water wash very often at all, maybe once every half year. Clean spots localy. 🎄 I’m knitting on a sweater for my gf for christmas 🥰
Hi, my exam period just ended and i‘m starting a new project, crocheting a sweater vest which has cat design on it. And while crocheting, i really enjoy watching/listening to your youtube videos and podcasts. Feels like friends hangout and doing our hobbies together. 😊
I was my knits when they come out of storage before the new season. Wool, alpaca and kasjmier don’t need washing. Do check the specific yarn if it does contain cotton or plastic washing may be more often.
If I think the garment is a bit smelly (after a bbq or something) I hang it in the bathroom for a couple of days. The steam helps to make it smell nice again:)
I love your strawberry costume :) I am also living in France temporarily right now! Working on baby clothes because my sister is pregnant and a cowl for my mom, her birthday was yesterday !
I recommend looking at these zip-lock bags where you can use a vacuum cleaner to suction the air out. If you put your yarn stash in there it'll shrink it down/compress it to a fraction of the size and you'll be able to fit it into your suitcase. Saves you donating yarn you want to keep!
Thank you for this new episode. I always enjoy listening to you while I work on my own knits :)
❤j’aime bien ton podcast
Finished my first sweater today! Immediately cast on and started on a second one. As a semi-beginner I am do happy to have finally rediscovered my passion for knitting and finally learning to understand everything with the help of some amazing youtubers. I have been loving listening to your videos while working on my projects so far and as a fellow Dutchie, I'd say 'Tot de volgende! :)'
Thanks a lot for this video! I always like to see what you've been up to. I'm at the moment working half in an amigurumi, half knitting a hat. I'm a very beginner to knitting and I'm finding everything harder than crochet 😅 wish have a friend like you closer to guide me. Have a good day
Thanks for the new video! I am currently working on the zipper sweater light. I usually wash my knits once a season because wool is naturally self cleaning and I don't find I get things too dirty quickly. Thanks again for the new video!
I’m working on the zipper sweater light too ! :))
I am currently knitting mini Christmas sweaters from Arne and Carlos. As for ur question in the beginning of the video, I only have 2 finished knitted sweaters and this is going to sound bad, but I washed and blocked them and since then (like a year ago now) I've only washed them once more, so twice total and I had wash my knits. They don't smell and dont feel gross and maybe it's because I don't wear them too often. As for my beanies and scarves and mittens, I only hand washed and blocked. I haven't needed to wash them since
Aaah juste so sad you we're really next to my home, I'm living in the Alps too, at like 1hour of Grenoble.
Wish to meet you some day, you're so sweet and ingenious at knitting and crochet!
😙
Ahh I really had an amazing time in Grenoble, you're so lucky to live in such a beautiful area!
Wools don’t need washed often at all but I recommend waiting till a few need washed, do it in the tub then hang to dry! You can go even a year without washing unless you get a stain or it stinks!
how often do I wash knits? like never hahaha no I'll usually wait a few weeks before washing 3-4 even. I'll see how I feel. Like today I was wearing one of my sweaters in the metro and I was overheating and sweating, so I'll wash this one asap ha
Love your creativity, its a great gift to think of something and being able to make it!
I am also currently knitting a pair of sock from avocado dyed yarn. I dyed it with the help of your video 😊
Hi, Love your zipper sweater. Looks warm and cozy. I have on my needles at the moment a hat by Martin Storey. The pattern is called Fiona. Martin Storey creates beautiful patterns with loads of aran stitches in them.
I heard a podcast the other day about caring for natural wool and one of the things they said is that you should not wash the wool often, only once mabe twice a year. Because wool does not absorb dirt and smells because of lanolin, we should only hang it in the sun and fresh air. Or wash only the parts that are dirty under water or with a wet cloth
oooomg that kutovakika sweater is sooo beautiful. when i saw it on instagram i thought “oh my gosh i’m making that next!” can’t wait to see how yours turns out :)
Love the video as always! Super jealous of that Toblerone advent calendar Haha, I am currently working on a test knit of the honeybee sweater by "knit against the machine". The zipper sweater by PetiteKnit is on my Wishlist of knits to start next as a gift for my mum.
omggg you should make strawberry leg warmers!
Heyy, I just lovee your adorable videos, and I will be started my first knitted garment, a sweater, tomorrow🎊Any tips please? On reading a pattern?
I think I wear my sweater 2-3 times before washing 🤷🏻♀️ I hand wash my knits and let them drip dry, I just let my sweaters pile up and wash them together.
Honestly I wash my wool knits once, maybe twice a year max, but I have 10 sweaters in rotation so they have some time to air out, and I always wear a washable layer underneath, at least a t-shirt or preferable a thin longsleeve
Do you think the filcolana pernilla yarn is itchy at all? I’m so sensitive to that and don’t know whether I should order it or not for my next project… thanks for a great video! 🤩
I don't think it's very itchy, but I am not the most sensitive person and I always wear a shirt underneath my knitted sweaters. But I definitely think it's not that itchy. Hope this helps :)
@@lisasknitclub that helps, thank you! 🥰
i work with vegan fibers only and unfortunately i have to wash my knits after every wear :(, not self cleaning like wool.
I'm working on an hatsune miku cardigan for my partner that's EATING UP MY YARN
This has brightened up my day 🌞!!! Do not waste your time > *Promo sm*!!!
