The '70s were THE decade for top pickers on regular network shows. Glen, Jerry Reed, Roy Clark... they'd pop up everywhere and always deliver the goods. Nothing like it since.

What is impressive about Linda singing solo and duet with Glenn isn't so much the singing talent (which is formidable, of course) as it is the SONGS! Wow! Great songs! Songs that tell us pop music need not be disposable. Really solid!

Glen said Linda was barefoot in her appearances. You can see it here. Glen talks in several interviews how the show changed once Tom Smothers was fired from CBS. He owned the show and gave it to Glen, but the network wanted less country (drop the guitar) and more MOR. Knowing that, I can see that Glen isn't happy in the comedy bits and small talk, and is much more content in the singing segments, and even more where the guitar is visible. His guitar music was NOT country but someone thought it was. I am still wondering why they had those dancers in Neil's song and Liberace playing the part of Victor Borge. Why couldn't Liberace have played Liberace, and a outstanding piano in all his segments?

Alright I know it's highely unlikely I'll get a response but my sheer interest is overpowering my senses so I gotta ask, Is there anywhere where I could see the full series? All 4 seasons with every weekly episode? I've gotten to the point where I'll even pay for it on CD, I really want the full thing, I mean, MERLE HAGGARD is on one of the lost episodes not on your site so I just need to know if I can find the full series man lol, Also side question while I'm already here desperately pleading to a corporation who probably will never even see this lol, Do you guys think you'll ever post The Glen Campbell Music Show episodes? Are those under a completely different brand? Are they completely gone to time? I mean, I've never even so much as SEEN a clip of the Glen Campbell Music Show on the internet so it isn't TOO far-fetched of an idea... But I hope not... But yeh hopefully you see this and even maybe have answers! Who knows, maybe there is a CD with all these episodes and I just didn't see it! I really hope that's the case! Until then, good luck on your adventures of growing as a company! From the seems of it you guys are pretty alright in my eyes! Keep on keepin' on and I hope your listening to the That Christmas Feeling Album by Glen as well!

@@kelseymathias3881 When I went to the Glen Campbell museum they told me there's actually some rights issues so they aren't able to sell them, but they are very open to the idea and if ever possible they will... I just wonder who actually does own them! There could always be some unofficial bootleg stuff, but I'd be worried how much of that is actually from the lost episodes I really wanna see, like Glen with Jerry Reed or Glen with Willie or Glen with the dang BEATLES, it's ridiculous how much amazing Glen content is locked behind a legal wall and it makes me sad.

Even as a kid in the '60's and '70's I thought the variety show formula was contrived and hokey (well, duh!) and with shows like Campbell's and others really played up the weird blend of Hollywood glitz and down home folksiness... my favorite parts were the musical performances, the comedy bits, not so much ...

The best part is the session that starts at about 21:52. IMHO, the skits are silly. I'm glad that he came back to TV to do a music show. That was what he really wanted to do, but Hollywood being what it is, they had to throw in all the goofy skits.
Gotta laugh at Glen's dancing during the Neil Diamond/Linda Ronstadt/Glen Campbell segment! 42:25 I've seen him dance in a few videos and thought that, for as much musical talent he has, he sure didn't get the dancing gene! I don't care. His virtuoso guitar playing, his amazing singing and his drop-dead gorgeous looks are unparalleled as far as I'm concerned.
