I'm agreeing to that! There are a lot of guitarists who I envy and idolize, and (RIP, God love him), Glen Campbell is in the Top Five! And vocalists, Mr Osmond is right up there with him!
At 68yrs old i've seen many great musicians. Personally , i believe Glen is one of the greatest guitarists ever recorded. But because of his great vocals people naturally focused on his singing. He was a session musician who couldn't read or write music. One of a kind.
He truly was a virtuoso. God given natural talent. His arrangements are like no one else’s and one of the first that I recognized the use of minor progressions to drive a song.
Wonderful clip. Donny and Glen are great. I worked at a company that was involved with music production and met Donny when he came to our studio to do an interview. He was gracious and polite to everyone, generous with his time, and a consummate professional. What an authentically nice and wonderful guy!
Just. Wow. How can this bring tears? Sheer talent, true affection between these two marvelous talents, and an impromptu joint rendition of a CLASSIC. 'Nuff said. So glad this showed up for me today.
This is a great interview. Glen is obviously spot on vocally and an incredible guitarist and he also comes across as a nice guy but credit has got to be given to Donny as well. Glen gets to pick the key and the arrangement that he likes and Donny does a great job of going along with it.
True enough. It is also clear Glen knows Donnie’s vocal range and took that into consideration in selecting a song key they both could get into comfortably.

Never really taken any notice of Donny Osmond before, he was just a teeny bopper when I was in my late teens going on twenty. But he can really sing and Glen Campbell has always been very talented.
Cudos for Donny coming instantly with perfect harmonies at the end. Their voices melded so well, they'd have done a great job covering some Everly Brothers' classics.

Chance meeting with Donny: Circa 1980, I was an engineer at at Chicago TV station. One morning, he was alone in the studio hallway quietly waiting to appear on our morning show. I was pushing an oscilloscope cart down the hall, and nodded respectfully to him as I passed. About one step after I passed him he said: "Is that a Tektronix 465 scope?" I replied, "Yes it is, I can't believe you recognize it". He said "I have one at home in Utah". He told me he loves electronics as a hobby and enjoys relaxing at home building small electronic projects. We talked a little about the kind of electronics he liked and what he was building. Just then, he was called into the studio and we said goodbye. He was a really nice and down to earth guy. Years pass, I move to Los Angeles and work in engineering at the TV studio complex where the ABC-TV "Donny and Marie Show" was produced. Some of my co-workers worked on that show. One day at work, I mentioned my chance meeting with Donny in Chicago, and asked "Did you guys know electronics was his hobby?" They knew well. Donny was friends with several engineers and was a frequent and welcome guest in the engineering shop. One of the guys was kind of his mentor in electronics. All who knew him liked him and spoke well of him.
How sweet this is!!!! Thank you Glen and Donny. You are truly the best of the best. We appreciate you so much for all you have given us! Thanks so much.
Glen’s renditions of “By the Time I Get to Phoenix,” “Wichita Lineman,” and “Dreams of the Everyday Housewife” will be listened to by music lovers eternally. RIP Glen.
I really appreciate Glen’s God given talent, & miss his music. I have several of his cd’s, and I was blessed to see Jimmy Webb’s concert tribute to Glen. Donny wearing pink socks.... courage. I respect and love Glen when he first played and let Donny sing that he took it slow and adjusted to help him and not show him up. Donny was wonderful. No Hollywood Big Head for Donny nor Glen, just two talented people.
I liked Glen Campbell he was part of the fabric of radio and TV... but I guess I took him for granted... I have been watching his videos on YT since his passing last week.... he really was a excellent Entertainer and a decent chap... even discussing his less than honorable days ..he was honest about them. A lot of stars have come and gone in recent years but I must say he was bigger than most... very few would compare
I love how much Donny's son, Chris (Christopher), who is a great singer and musician in his own right, looks just like his father, RIGHT NOW, just so much like his dad does back in this clip back then! I've personally met Donny, his amazing wife, Debbie, and most of his wonderful sons. He and his family are are truly the kindest people anyone could ever (hope or dream to) have pleasure to meet.

While she was researching that she found out that Glenn had died in a drowning accident as a boy. Apparently he had blue lips when his brother began resuscitating him. To the worlds great fortune, he lived.
Donny wearing pink socks.... courage. I respect and love Glen when he first played and let Donny sing that he took it slow and adjusted to help him and not show him up. Donny was wonderful. No Hollywood Big Head for Donny nor Glen, just two talented people.
I liked Glen Campbell he was part of the fabric of
radio and TV... but I guess I took him for granted... I have been watching his videos on YT since his passing last week.... he really was a excellent Entertainer and a decent chap... even discussing his less than honorable days ..he was honest about them.
A lot of stars have come and gone in recent years but I must say he was bigger than most... very few would compare

Excellent harmony, and GC was a master player.
Both artist's are so professionally casual when singing. I 4got how handsome Donny was then. Daggone!!!
Damn, Glen Campbell was one of the greatest musicians ever...
All the girls at primary school were breaking their hearts over Donny. I was listening to Glen sing Try a Little Kindness.
WOW BEAUTIFUL .. SO GLAD I GREW UP IN THE 60
Wonderful... and fun interview... Thanks for sharing.
Watching the intent focus Donnie has on Glens fingers making the note and chord changes on guitar are priceless. He really was that great.
Glen Campbell was one of the sweetest people on earth.
i really enjoyed this - glad i found it.
Wow! Glen was some guitarist too.
Somebody once said ''If ever anyone was given too much talent. It was Glen Campbell.
One of the best on guitar...
Glen was one of the very best studio guitarists of all time.
@@michaelcalkins8648 A “Wrecking Crew” regular guitarist.
I remember his TV show watching him play. Very talented.
Fantastic, genuine talent sitting there👌
