I don't think he would have joined Voldemort, but given his anger at his upbringing and all the bullying, he definitely had the potential to become the next Dark Lord.

yea i feel like in the wizard world once you start doing evil it taints your soul and you just fall futher and futher. so lets say harry did have lots of resentment about his upbringing then finding out he had people who actually cared in another world.. then finding out they are using you to defeat the dark lord, what if he just snapped joined old voldy then through out the mission for him just slowly grew more n more evil till he was fully a dark wizard.
@limecat exactly. Dumbledore really was playing a dangerous game in how he used both Harry and Snape. Both had the potential to become Dark Lords worse than Voldy. Plus, for a long time the Death Eaters did believe Harry was an even more powerful dark wizard than Voldemort. It's why Lucius originally wanted Draco to befriend Harry.

I think the best case scenario where Harry joins Voldemort is in book 4. Let’s say that the whole school betrays Harry because they thought he put his name in. So Harry is all alone in year 4 except for fake moody. Barty will notice this and definitely get word out to Voldemort. Voldemort then decides he will give Harry one last chance to join him. In this timeline Harry let’s Cedric get tangled up and disqualified in the maze. He takes the cup and Tom gets a new body. And Harry realizes that the supposed good side doesn’t want him. He accepts toms offer. Tom convinces Harry that dumbeldore is as much to blame for Harry’s parents death just as much as he is. And that Dumbledore was a coward to hide behind a family and a prophecy instead of fighting Tom himself. Harry will practice all of his dark magic on the dursleys and warmtail slowly driving them insane. You can have the last scene of the goblet of fire having Harry going to Draco and say I’m sorry Draco I have now realized some wizarding families are better than others.
I think book 5 is where Harry could have broke away and become a Dark Wizard. He was being attacked on all sides, even internally.
A more realistic Evil Harry scenario.
What if Voldemort DID figure out Harry was a Horcrux and used Harry as a new vessel to revive himself? This could have added a whole new dynamic to The Graveyard Scene.
I actually thought this would be the only reason Harry would turn, that the sliver of Voldermort's soul was manipulating his mind & emotions and eventually taking over, other thing to consider if they did join forces their combined wands with phoenix cores would cause a strong bond if fighting together instead of against one another
Voldemort would become protective of Harry like he is his other horcruxes

It might affect how well they understood the prophecy and then made it much harder to help Harry be the one who lived. But then I guess Lockhart did say that the story would be they (Ron and Harry) tragically lost their minds at the sight of Ginny
But either way. All the prophecy said was that Harry or Voldemort would have to kill one or the other. If anything it just would have made it easier for Voldemort to win. Since harry probably wouldn’t have the ability or desire to win anymore

I think Harry would have been more powerful than he was if he tapped into the dark arts because he has so much more deep trauma to empower it and make him insanely strong and vicious.
I could see Harry turn evil but I couldn't see him join Lord Voldemort. Voldemort wanted him dead so Harry would have to constantly watch his back
Snape provided reason for Harry to turn evil. Snape confronted Dumbledore "You've been raising the boy to be slaughtered! To die at a time YOU chose! " if Voldemort knew any of that, he could have used it to turn Harry against Dumbledore. Along with the fact Dumbledore failed to do anything about protection for his parents he could convince Harry that his parents death was actually Dumbledore's plan. Even Dumbledore's brother revealed to Harry that Dumbledore only made plans for power and disregard for everyone else.
Except Dumbledore did try to help his parents. He even offered to be the secret keeper, but James wanted Sirius.
Dumbledore also chose not to tell Snape that Voldy was Harry's Horcrux because he took Harry's blood. Dumbledore knew Harry couldn't be killed as long as Voldemort lived. Harry wasn't a pig for slaughter, but Snape was.
I can only see it happening if he had never met Ron and Hermione, and then being feared as a parcel mouth. Without those friendships to anchor him, and introducing him to the Wesley family; I can see the constant threats and endless loneliness driving him to the breaking point.
But as long as those relationships were in play, I don't think knowing Harry's innate character, and his desire for family, the thing he's never had; that it could ever happen.
He wanted and needed them far too much.

Most likely Harry would eventually kill Voldemort and take over as dark lord in this scenario, fulfilling the prophecy in the darkest way.

Even if Harry tried to join Voldemort, I highly doubt Voldemort would have accepted it. It might have had advantages, but there is no way Voldemort who was obsessed with being immortal would allow the one person who according to the prophecy had the power to defeat him to live one second longer than necessary.
I don't think Voldemort would ever allow this,long term anyway. Always being the one that survived , and a beacon of hope against Voldemort regardless of Harry's allinbment, I think Voldemort would see him as a threat and dispatch of him. But, if they for some reason did get along I think they would flip the world upside down.
Plot wist: Harry just joins Voldemort to steal Bellatrix away.

I feel like Harry could go genuinely evil if Ron/ Hermione betrayed him somehow. Not saying they would, just saying hypothetically after being raised with the Dursleys and Dumbledore using him, that could push him over the edge.

I think if he ever did this, it would definitely be after Sirius 's death in OotP.
i'd like to imagine that if Harry joined the dark side, this would have a lot effect on Draco Malfoy. (of course it would effect on everyone).
-But maybe now that Harry is one with the dark, would make Draco hate it. Maybe even try and leave the situation. The chosen one was now the undefeated one.
Draco might run up to Harry in the dark forest and share few words with him. After a battle between wands, Harry's morality between good and bad might collapse.

Unlikely. Harry was well known by 4th Year to be capable of throwing the curse off pretty easily. Unless they believed that Voldemort’s own Imperius was just too powerful for Harry, it’d be doubtful.

I don’t think Harry would have the same morals and ethics in that scenario - he would have to forgo them or even not have them in the first place, maybe if he had been hardened by the cruelty of his upbringing with muggles as you suggested. Great video topic!

It's funny because in my theory on how Harry would join Voldemort is because he obliviate Lily Potter to becoming Lily Snape with Severus raising Harry alongside Voldemort.
You missed an angle. If Harry joined Voldemort, Snape would betray Dumbledore too since the one reason he was on his side just turned against him. Snape would then assassinate Dumbledore. Then after all the wars and the Magical world is conquered, as Snape and Harry grow older and as Voldemort becomes elderly, they two younger wizards quickly develop to be on par with Voldemort's magical skill. Making the Death Eaters led by Voldemort eventually reform into the Half-blood Triumvirate. A few pureblood purists are disgruntled about Voldemort coming out about his real blood status but with two more equally powerful Half-bloods as allies and the world already conquered, he sees no need to keep up appearances with vastly weaker purebloods. Also, with the ascension of both Snape and Potter, it is clear that Half-blood is simply superior. Voldemort becomes akin to a father figure to Harry and sees no need in a relationship with Bellatrix. Snape becomes an uncle figure to Harry. This turn in Voldemort's original design sees Hermione become accepted among Death Eaters and she still becomes Minister for Magic but also Harry's wife. Whereas Bellatrix and others are sentenced to Azkaban for crimes against Half-bloods committed during the wars.

This was a very interesting video. I would really like to see you expand on this concept further, perhaps talking about how relationships would change through critical story points. Snape for example was a double agent, would he take on a greater mentor role should harry made a choice like this etc.

on one hand, voldemort would have won nearly instantly if harry joined him, given harry's importance to the order as the chosen one, but on the other hand, given voldemorts obsession with harry, i think voldemort would laugh and then try to kill him immediately.

Well there is one of the way that Harry would join Voldemort the enemy of my enemy so those two scenarios here the first one Grindelwald getting free and getting the other one back and they would have to team up to stop him and the second option Harry wants to take down the ministry because it's so corrupt so he's willing to team up with Voldemort to take it down and then they would agree to turn on each other after that
The Dursleys would definitely be on the receiving end of repeated Crucios. Torturing them into insanity and leaving them battered and broken.
I’d be interested in Rowling writing an alternate World Series where Neville is the main character with Dean and maybe Luna as the supporting characters. The usual 3 in this case would still be there but Harry would be Snape’s son, Ron and his family would be better off not rich, and Hermione would still be a muffle born witch but her parents would’ve gone to Hogwarts and met there. James Potter would serve in the role Snape did.

Kind of a weird one honestly. Cause Voldemort would STILL have to kill Harry to remove the danger of the prophecy.
I'd like to see these ones:
1.) What if Tim Riddle was good instead of evil?
2.) What if Grindelwald had killed Dumbledore in the famous duel?
3.) What if Bellarix HAD killed Ginny? (Given how Harry was willing to use Crucio on her for killing Sirius, would Harry have just lost his temper and used Avada Kedavra on her, thus killing her and shattering his soul, destroying his advantage over Voldemort right before the final fight?)
4.) What if Draco HAD killed Dumbledore (I think you may have made this one, unless it was another Potter channel)?
5.) What if Voldemort hadn't gotten any of the prophecy and hence never fell in Godric's Hollow? Would Voldemort's rise to power have been stemmed enough for Harry to go to Hogwarts and be able to fight back or would Harry have been killed (possibly due to his parents being in the Order) or perhaps orphaned and raised in a Voldemort-run world and perhaps turned on Voldemort and become the Chosen One?
6.) What if Snape somehow, he is in the Death Eaters after all so it's possible, caught wind of the night that Peter betrayed the Potters and showed up at Godrich's Hollow to duel Voldemort to try and stop him from killing Lily?
6) He knows Peter betreyed, whats more he beg Voldemort to spare Lily and kill only Harry (he don't care about James dough). Then in Potters house Voldemort said to Lily something like "Move you stupid girl". His intentions are not kill Lily, only Harry. So Snapes begging worked BUT (and all love magic protecting Harry work because of that) Lily willingly covered Harry so Voldemort kill her. Without this sacrifice magic that save little Harry that night wouldnt worked.

Lily was only able to die for him bc she wasn't supposed to die that night. Snape had asked Voldemort to spare lily and Voldemort was true to his word in that one. He repeatedly asked her to step aside and even told her she didn't have to die. Clearly showing he never knew love himself which is understandable, his own mother preferred death instead of living for him so how could he understand that lily would give her life for her child?
If it wasn't for Snape's love for lily she wouldn't have been able to sacrifice herself, she would have simply been murdered and Harry wouldn't have received the protection
@@ranierricsson I'm actually not sure he knows Peter Pettigrew was the betrayer. If he had, then why, when he was on Dumbledore's side, did he never mention that to Dumbledore, so that they could get Sirius out of Azkaban? The issue was that the Death Eaters informally dissolved when Voldemort lost his powers, so that Snape never was in contact, for the most part, with any of them. At any rate, I honestly believe that he believe Sirius to be the traitor.

VIDEO SUGGESTION:
1) Had Dumbledore known that young Tom Riddle would turn into Voldemort would he have killed him as a child
2) Voldemort never existed what would the death eaters be doing such as Bellatrix
3) Voldemort was born out of the miss use of the love potion. If another witch or wizard is born from the love potion, could another Voldemort arise, I was he a rare case.

Great vid! The secenio you speak of is if Harry still had his morales. What if he didnt. He never met Ron and Heromine and was alone like Tom Riddle, coming to hogwarts with loads of other kids just reminded him that he was alone. With the solitude Voldermort has an easier time infecting Harry's mind. But harry is extremely powerful and can sense this. He makes the dark lord think he is winning but is playing voldermort. Harry joins Voldermort and manipulates the situation seeming like he is doing the dark lords bidding but he has another plan. He wants to strengthen voldermort so he is powerful enough to kill Dumbledore. Harry supports voldermort learning from him while he regains his strength. Eventually Vokdermort is strong enough to challenge dumbledore. The duel in the ministry of magic happens between Voldemort and Dumbledore. Harry Hope's for voldermort to kill Dumbledore but when Harry realizes that Dumbledore will win he kills dumbledore from behind who is locked in a duel with Voldemort. A weak Voldermort thinks he's won. He thinks he has fully manipulated Harry and killed Dumbledore. However this was Harrys plan and he kills the weakened Voldemort. With Dumbledore also dead Harry claims he was always working as a double agent for Dumbledore who cannot refute this claim as he is dead. Harry is now the most powerful wizard having learnt from both voldermort and Dumbledore and is loved and respected for defeating Voldemort.
The fan fiction called The Well Groomed Mind has a sane Voldemort who needs help to regain his body. Harry needs a legimens to repair his mind from all the damage Dumbledore did to his mind. Harry knew Professor Moody was Bartemus Crouch, but he got the best education from him in private lessons. Im not finished with it yet but now Harry cannot even go back to Hogwarts.

I think the most likely scenario for this is if Harry would have been sorted into Slytherin and recruited that way. So he probably would not have been as close with Ron, Hermione, Neville and the Weasleys and so forth
The Ministry of Magic would not work against Harry and Voldemort because the Minister of Magic would be loyal to Voldemort. Voldemort would make sure of that by making the Ministry an extension of his power and reach. Only the Order of the Phoenix would be left but even they would not be a match for Harry Potter and Tom Riddle working together

So many things would've changed, as Draco would've succeeded in getting the Death Eaters inside of Hogwarts earlier and due to circumstance, Dumbledore would most likely die.
There are multiple factors that could make this scenario VERY intriguing. Would Draco succeed in killing Dumbledore? Would Dumbledore die either way as a happen of circumstance? Would Dumbledores skill, knowledge and experience keep him alive and cancel out the Felix Felicis? Would Snape still be the one to kill Dumbledore, or would Draco be the one to have ended Dumbledore' life, as it would raise Draco's standing in Voldemort' regime?
Like I said, so many questions and scenarios, all due to a little bottle of liquid luck.

I’ve always said that him being evil is more realistic than the story that’s portrayed. Because after everything he’s been through from losing his parents to going to school and being used by someone who he thought was protecting him only to come to find out that they’re keeping him “safe”just to fight Voldemort. Then no one really explaining to him what happened or what’s going on and have him growing up thinking he’s some sort of “hero” only to find out he’s being used. Not only that , but after almost being killed every year and then having to go back to a family who doesn’t even want him there every summer and having nowhere else to go , he still turned out good ? Realistically no one who goes through all that is going to be mentally stable and I don’t see how Harry was even remotely stable throughout any of that. Me personally I think it would’ve been a better story if he did turn out evil , maybe not during his first year but around the goblet of fire sometime around near him finding out about Voldemort and what he is in him learning that he’s a Horcrux. Then after that year he goes and does research and find out things on his own and he doesn’t return to Hogwarts the sixth year. If you think about it when Voldemort splits his soul it split it in half when he split his soul with Harry , at the time he already had done it once. So he went from 100% to 50%. He was at 50% when he did it with harry so harry had 25% of Voldemort soul.
So at this point here he is already more Voldemort than Voldemort is of himself. After the fifth year of having that encounter with the dark Lord I feel like here he should’ve took the route of finding out more about the Horcrux and what Voldemort did to get to that point in him taking that research and going on his own journey of figuring out how to become a dark Lord himself. Because why the fuck would anyone who is going through that wanna continue to try and be good and save people when he can take the easier route and become stronger than the dark lord himself and easily kill him.
I don’t know if any of this makes sense but I just feel like the story would’ve been way better and made more sense if Harry became evil it just fits the story and it fits him more than him still trying to be good and do good by people who used him. Because Harry isn’t stupid I’m pretty sure he would’ve figured all of that out by his self in a few weeks with simple research and books and asking around.
Or if he would’ve found out what Dumbledore‘s true intentions were like how Snape said in the last movie that Dumbledore only kept him alive like a pig for slaughter. If Harry would’ve found out that that was the reason while he was there he probably would’ve return either that sixth or seventh year and I could totally see him taking Dumbledore out just for that reason. Or maybe he would’ve got close to Snape and Snape would’ve told him everything that really would’ve changed the story.
I feel like for Voldemort to truly accept Harry into his ranks (ie not immediately just kill him), Harry would be forced into a similar position as Snape / Dumbledore with some sort of magical promise to not move against Voldemort
This was kind of a half measure.
If we're gonna theorize him joining voldemort, he should go all in, not be split between good and evil.
Also, he should tell Voldemort that he's a horcrux, cementing his safety.
You could have made it a little longer bro . Seems like you were rushing at the end . Stories like this should be a little more drawn out . Great story . Just think you could have added more
Voldemort would strive to use Harry as a tool. Harry would focus on convincing Voldemort of the use of the muggle knowledge can be used to boost their superiority over their ignorant magical kin. This knowledge would allow him to convince his new consort. That eliminated foes provide a bigger hindrance compared to a small win. Taking the time, effort, and Voldemort's desire to control Harry's role as a tool would grow into an understanding. This is despite the image he has projected Voldemort craves the adoration and affirmation of his underlings.
Just a couple of thoughts or 2 cents if you will.
Sounds good to me and add the other 2 to the Dark Wizards with Harry. Ron joins due to Dumbledore bad planning and getting his parents/family killed. Ron loses his mind due to the pain and turns dark at which point an Aora goes to attack and kill Ron after he joins Harry and Voldemort's army. Hermione in order to safe the man she loves ( Ron ) attacks and kills the Aora who went after Ron. Ron talks her into joining Harry, myself and Voldermort and she does. The WHOLE wizarding world goes into CHAOS. Voldermort NOT happy with a Mudblood joining his PURE blood army denies Hermione entrance Harry stands to Voldertmort if she can't join he will leave too. Voldermort agrees only on the condition she kills Prof. Mcgonagall which she does catching her off guard since the Proffesor DIDN'T know what happened with the Aora, Ron and Hermione. well I've always been a FAN of the bad guys NOT the good guys.....Lol

What if Harry being the unintended horcrux factored into him joining Voldemort? He and Nagini would have been Voldemort's closest allies. A rogue Neville in the mix would also be interesting.
Just recently I finished reading HP fanfiction called Downward Spiral Saga. While it might not be a masterpiece in terms of writing, I really loved it. Only light spoilers ahead, I will try not to spoil too much about the worst timeline possible.
I will list what I loved about it and what I did not like about it.
What I really loved about it :
1) Harry Potter that wasn't born evil but was made evil by circumstances. Dursley left him at the orphanage as soon as they found him and he was terribly abused there. The author addresses all questions that the readers may have regarding this (why wasn't he rescued etc.) and there are several chapters from Dumbledore's POV.
The tragedy of HP's character is that there are points in the story where he had a chance to turn around and develop into a somewhat decent person, but poor choices (not all his) and terrible circumstances made him go to the worst path possible.
2) Dumbledore is faithful to canon, has good intentions, but makes terrible mistakes. There is so much that he could have done to prevent so much evil from happening, but he made terrible decisions. Like, I said, worst timeline.
3) Voldemort is much smarter than in the books. He saw the opportunity in taking Harry under his wing and he took it.
Without spoiling too much, I will just say that Voldemort's rise to power is completely different in this universe and Harry is manipulated from book 1. As soon as Voldemort realized that his prophesized nemesis could be turned into his greatest asset, all things changed.
4) Because there is no ridiculous character bashing that turns good characters into evil caricatures of themselves, it makes tragic fates of so many beloved characters all the more terrifying. The only mistake they made? Not stopping Harry.
WORST. DAMN. TIMELINE. I can't stress this enough.
5) This fanfic uses "dark magic is addictive" trope, but it works so well here. Further explains Harry's fall to darkness.
6) Horcruxes are explained in much more detail than in canon.
7) You think you know true evil? The author does. Harry starts being so sadistic that he would make your average serial killer stomach turn. The abused became the abuser. There is so much graphic torture in later parts and sometimes it is vital to the story (more about this later)
What I didn't like about it:
1) Kids acting too mature from the first year (11 years olds acting like high schoolers of 15-16 years). But it is tolerable and I've seen much worse.
2) Unnecessary torture porn in later parts of the series. There are torture parts that serve a purpose and there are parts that do not.
I've seen worse examples of unnecessary torture porn, but regardless, this was very graphic.
Bonus notes:
Have you seen Invincible's evil version from parallel universe? As soon as I saw that episode, I was reminded of Downwards Spiral Saga. "You did this to yourselves"....the same justifications, the same twisted logic, the same sadism and the superiority complex. That's what you can expect from this story, that's what Harry eventually turns into, except perhaps even more messed up.

My only problem with this theory is, Harry isn't a remarkably powerful wizard. He's effective in battle against Voldemort because of the prophecy, but when it comes to actual magical abilities, he's mediocre at best. Until defeating Voldemort - thanks to his ownership of the Elder Wand, and Lily's protection - all he knew was how to cast Expelliarmus. He was the Chosen One to defeat Voldemort, not chosen to be the greatest wizard of all time.
Didn't Voldemort already control the ministry by the time Harry found out he was a Horcrux. Like what Death Eater actually wants to rebel against Voldemort. They are petrified of him. And the Death Eaters control the Ministry. I find it extremely unlikely that the Ministry would choose this time to be the first time they actually took any real action

I don’t think there is any likely scenario where Harry joins Voldemort. That would completely go against his entire character. Voldemort had a few goals and they were: that he wanted to cleanse the wizarding world of muggle heritage, he wanted to be immortal, and to rule the wizarding world. There is no way that Harry would join him with one of his missions was to rid the world of muggle born wizards. The only way I could see Harry joining is if it’s a trick to get close to him to kill him or Voldemort allowing him to join just so that he can kill him. Anyway the prophecy states that neither one can live while the other survives.
