I’m really impressed that Reuniclus did so well in gen 5. I thought anything that wasn’t one of the new hyper offense sweepers would be ranked lower, but surprise, I forgot it’s high base hp and average defenses actually made it fairly tanky, especially with calm mind and magic guard helping even more with its bulk. That’s a really pleasant surprise.
I'm actually shocked it was good from each gen it was on. I'm pretty happy about that. Even if it isn't the best, it still manage to pull it off very well.

@The OG Tyranitar is a pseudo legendary therefore it has a honkin' wide movepool. And it has Sand Stream, a very useful ability that makes Tyranitar relevant despite having too much weaknesses. Special attacker Tyranitar is a pretty dumb set tho

It was immediately one of my favorites just by design. It's symmetrical and high special attack. One downside is that it doesn't have a big move variety like many psychics that can learn things like flame thrower etc. But its easy to build either special or defense.
At first I didn’t know why it was Reuniclus being covered today, but then I realized that Reuniclus is essentially a fetus, and that today is Valentine’s Day… Now I get the joke. If that was the intention.
So, in summation, Reuniclus was pretty good. It started out as an OU mainstay, but eventually fell first to UU in gens 6 and 7 and RU in gen 8...nominally, anyway. As of gen 8, it's still usable in top tier competitive play because of its unique talents.
The one advantage of running regenerator over Magic Guard is that you don't have to waste a slot on Recover and can focus solely on bulky offense. Really useful for backup trick Room and even Assault Vest from time to time. Pity the gen 8 entry had such an unfortunate typo because the rest of the video is a great example of just how thorough this channel can be
Can you have a video about how tiering works? It's based on usage but also the power level of the Pokemon to make sure the meta game in their isn't game breaking? The videos that explained why Gen I or other variables of the games were amazing to learn about. Could you also make one explaining the basics of tiering worked?
Definitely worth mentioning that Reuniclus was one of, if not the best Assault Vest Pokémon due to Regenerator. 383 SpA stat when maxed out, with obscene health to regenerate and access to Future Sight, Knock Off, Psyshock, Thunder and Focus Blast is absolutely disgusting
This is definitely one of those "abilities make the mon" Magic Coat and Regenerator are really great abilities. I doubt there's much you can do to improve the Cell Pokemon. Maybe it's cells are similar to Mew and Mewtwo's?? 🤔
Here I was expecting my favorite Pokémon to get a pretty mediocre wrap in competitive, since I couldn't remember any instances of it in what little competitive I've seen, and here I find that _the_ WolfeyVGC used one in his debut and got 6th in Worlds with it. :D Edit: AND THEN WOLFE COMES UP WITH A WAY TO SET UP PRIORITY TRICK ROOM IN GEN 8 WITH IT? I originally thought Reuniclus looked weird until thanks to the new Scarlet and Violet sprits I saw it was a cute little guy inside (I only saw a head) and it fit my ID team as I wanted a pokemon with Reflect and Light Screen
Damn I'm kinda surprised me how well it did, but probably one of the more interesting concepts for a pokemon so I'm glad it did well in competitive too.
This thing is busted in the pokebilities metagame. Having access to both Magic Guard and Regenerator as well as not being effected by powder moves is brilliant. Sure, Galarian Weezing can nullify those abilities because it has Neutralizing Gas (which for some reason doesn't cancel out it's own abilities, but only the opponents abilities), but gets easily dealt with by a Psychic move. No Pursuit in gen 8 makes it even more busted because it abuses Regenerator even better. Your best bet is to paralyze it and have something like a Hex Dragapult, which is already common to deal with the overpowered Conkeldurr and other great Guts pokemon in pokebilities.
Reuniclus has a vast Physical movepool, with staples like Rock Slide and Knock Off, and combos like Hammer Arm + Gyro Ball under TR. But its impressive Physical learnset is nearly useless due to its low Attack, I'd love to see it gain the option to viably run mixed attacking or even Physical sets.
Reuniclus is such as fun Pokemon, it's not everyday where you see a tanky pure psychic type do really well. It's doing well in both nat dex and doubles
Reuniclus. Possibly the most interesting Pokémon design (in my opinion of course!) has the most, dominant and interesting competitive lifespan. I love this funny looking gel baby so much.
i just started using it recently on showdown, and its hardly let me down at all. Pretty much can beat most balance teams, unless the opponent brings sabeleye.
I remember when B&W were first getting revealed and scans were coming up on Serebii, I thought it was a ghost toy bear sorta like how Banette is like a ghost toy-turned ghost, and his Japanese name being Rankurusu. I personally like that one better and still very much like the Alakazam counterpart we got in gen 5.
@@jjc4924 They're all below UU in singles and do nothing that something else can't do better. VGC is the same, they all serve no purpose over something else. That's the definition of something bad. Durant got lucky with Dynamax skipping accuracy checks; you could still say it's bad honestly considering it was only good in a single meta, but I'd give him the pass. Madibuzz has weird stats, but an amazing typing/ability/movepool so it does have a niche, so I consider it good too. I think a lot of mons with cool niches get called bad too often but those are all just mons that are fully outclassed. 3 are literally untiered, 1 is a legendary that can't get out of UU and Mienshao has been hardstuck UU or lower since it was added; I like Mienshao too, and have tried to make it work since gen 5 and it's just deadweight.
I've never raised a Reuniclus before, but since I'm about to start a new playthrough of Pokemon White 2 version, I'm gonna catch one for the first time and nickname it "Squish" lol. Espeon will always be my favorite Psychic type Pokemon, but Reuniclus is definitely my No# 2. It's so freaking adorable and based on such an interesting concept. Not to mention that fact that its Abilities are broken. Pop a Life Orb onto that puppy and watch my little green Psychoplasm go to town.

This is definitely one of those "abilities make the mon" Magic Coat and Regenerator are really great abilities. I doubt there's much you can do to improve the Cell Pokemon. Maybe it's cells are similar to Mew and Mewtwo's?? 🤔
Give it a minor stat boost in sp attack and maybe sp def and it would shoot back to OU

Here I was expecting my favorite Pokémon to get a pretty mediocre wrap in competitive, since I couldn't remember any instances of it in what little competitive I've seen, and here I find that _the_ WolfeyVGC used one in his debut and got 6th in Worlds with it. :D

I originally thought Reuniclus looked weird until thanks to the new Scarlet and Violet sprits I saw it was a cute little guy inside (I only saw a head) and it fit my ID team as I wanted a pokemon with Reflect and Light Screen
Damn I'm kinda surprised me how well it did, but probably one of the more interesting concepts for a pokemon so I'm glad it did well in competitive too.

This thing is busted in the pokebilities metagame. Having access to both Magic Guard and Regenerator as well as not being effected by powder moves is brilliant. Sure, Galarian Weezing can nullify those abilities because it has Neutralizing Gas (which for some reason doesn't cancel out it's own abilities, but only the opponents abilities), but gets easily dealt with by a Psychic move. No Pursuit in gen 8 makes it even more busted because it abuses Regenerator even better. Your best bet is to paralyze it and have something like a Hex Dragapult, which is already common to deal with the overpowered Conkeldurr and other great Guts pokemon in pokebilities.
Finally, Reuniclus! One of my favourite mons! I love how it's managed to remain relevant!
Reuniclus has a vast Physical movepool, with staples like Rock Slide and Knock Off, and combos like Hammer Arm + Gyro Ball under TR. But its impressive Physical learnset is nearly useless due to its low Attack, I'd love to see it gain the option to viably run mixed attacking or even Physical sets.
Reuniclus is such as fun Pokemon, it's not everyday where you see a tanky pure psychic type do really well. It's doing well in both nat dex and doubles
Reuniclus. Possibly the most interesting Pokémon design (in my opinion of course!) has the most, dominant and interesting competitive lifespan. I love this funny looking gel baby so much.

Anyone that played Gen 5 competitive knows how terrifying Reuniclus was
i just started using it recently on showdown, and its hardly let me down at all. Pretty much can beat most balance teams, unless the opponent brings sabeleye.
I remember when B&W were first getting revealed and scans were coming up on Serebii, I thought it was a ghost toy bear sorta like how Banette is like a ghost toy-turned ghost, and his Japanese name being Rankurusu. I personally like that one better and still very much like the Alakazam counterpart we got in gen 5.
Gosh, Generation V sure had a lot of powerful Pokémon to debut there, huh?
And we're still missing Conkeldurr, Sesmitoad, Whimsicott, Darmanitan, Scrafty (arguably), Gothitelle (Shadow Tag), Amoonguss, Ferrothorn, Terrakion, Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus

@@jjc4924 They're all below UU in singles and do nothing that something else can't do better. VGC is the same, they all serve no purpose over something else.

Durant got lucky with Dynamax skipping accuracy checks; you could still say it's bad honestly considering it was only good in a single meta, but I'd give him the pass.
Madibuzz has weird stats, but an amazing typing/ability/movepool so it does have a niche, so I consider it good too.
I think a lot of mons with cool niches get called bad too often but those are all just mons that are fully outclassed.
3 are literally untiered, 1 is a legendary that can't get out of UU and Mienshao has been hardstuck UU or lower since it was added; I like Mienshao too, and have tried to make it work since gen 5 and it's just deadweight.

I've never raised a Reuniclus before, but since I'm about to start a new playthrough of Pokemon White 2 version, I'm gonna catch one for the first time and nickname it "Squish" lol.
Espeon will always be my favorite Psychic type Pokemon, but Reuniclus is definitely my No# 2. It's so freaking adorable and based on such an interesting concept. Not to mention that fact that its Abilities are broken. Pop a Life Orb onto that puppy and watch my little green Psychoplasm go to town.
