I have a similar machine. If I press lightly on the forward controls while going downhill, it will do the same as yours. If I push full ahead it does not seem to do the "neutral thing". I would be curious to know if yours behaves the same way. If you have the courage push, the controls full forward and see how it behaves. I have a very steep inclined driveway. I operate like you with the boom and bucket very low just off the ground, and the blade just off the ground reducing the lean if I brake quickly by releasing the controls.
I hae the same (Landhero) unit. Tipped over the other day. It is too light on the bottom with NO counterweight. the controls are incredibly jerky. There has to be a way to add 100 lbs of counterweight. I am thinking about experimenting with gym type weights. Cheapest fix perhaps.
@davidbennett620 There’s a big flat plate of steel on the bottom with existing holes. i thought about running flat steel out and making a bump i can add weights to sounds simple but im not a very good welder but i need winter projects And yes them controls are pretty bad but just run you engine half throttle or lower and smooths up pretty good 🙂
Thank you, I hope to have my mini-ex in WV soon, and was wondering how they do on hills. Hills are hard to avoid here..😅 I'm hoping mine does a little better, being slightly heavier with 20hp diesel. Does it climb hills fine? I'm in the Wood county area, but I have property in Calhoun as well.
@@christopherenoch4230 It climbs fair but coming back down is dangerous. It needs a counter weight but it does what i need it to. i wouldn’t put it on anything real step because it will definitely roll. Yours should do better where it’s bigger but be careful and you’re welcome.
@@timrohds750 When you let off the controls it stops but if you barely push them forward on a decent slope it will free roll and if you feed a little in other direction it goes the other direction. i hope i explained that correctly 🙂
Thank you for posting this, Mine does the same thing. It will free wheel down a very steep hill. Not as bad as yours. Haven't really put much effort into finding out what could be wrong! Hopefully you find something out

I got the exact same VC13 as you and mine rolls the same way down steep hills. Might be a flaw in the design rather than a issue with your specific one. I actually rather like it though, I have to constantly go down a hill on my property and this allows me to get there much quicker than how slow it actually moves.
@@whataworld4894 looping back to this. I think this problem has gotten worse. My VC13 is about 60 hours now, and I realize even a slight decline it used to go down slow now starting to roll.
Add linkage to track controls and fab pedals. This way u can treat it like a real trackhoe and control the bucket and boom while in motion to make it a lot less sketchy. I own similar machine but yard is pretty flat. But I’m still going to convert to pedals and linkage just because I’m so use to a real John Deere trackhoe I run at work
i have 5 of those, none have this problem, working on steep hills all the time, this is a flow control problem send it back while its still under warenty
Didn’t come with a warranty. I just got the lemon out of the bunch but that’s okay I’ll try to fix it and thanks for letting me know cause I thought they all had this problem.
There's nothing 'wrong' or 'broken' with it. That's how those specific hydraulic wheel motors function. There are hydraulic wheel motors that will hold back but those are more expensive motors.
Stick 60kg in the rear end...down hill, looks like its free wheeling, thats dangerous, some have cushioning valves, maybe its set to zero pressure for relief?
I had a ht10b for 2 years before selling it. I never had that problem on free wheeling. Don't think i would like it. Need to find out whats missing. Vary dangerous if not paying attion. I would try asking groundhog equipment sence he sells these little machines. Not that brand. But idea whats causing the problem and may have a fix or a idea how to stop it. I always tell everyone these little machine are dangerous if not used correctly.
Mine definitely does not do that but I saw on UA-cam another gentleman who’s did the same thing. Yours is doing. He ended up changing out both drive motors to a different type and fix the problem but I’m sure by now you’ve already had that comment 1000 times lol

Great vid and thank you. Maybe turn the tracks around and you can drag the blade to slow your descent?

Maybe some flow controls on the hydraulic hoses to the track motors

I’m getting used to it till a track flies off. Sounds like I should just accept it the way it is.

Might just do that if adjusting the pressure works cause them controls on it are way to small.

I drove mine down a ramp and it didn't takeoff like that. But I wish they went that fast on flat ground :-) Mine goes like a turtle.
@DAS-Videos me too
@DAS-Videos That’s for sure but atleast it’s not a rental going that slow.
It should not do that , mine will not do that , definitely a lemon you picked up , but very fixable.
Wow! 😂 that would be pretty crazy feeling.
Yes and then after you go too fast you think should I ride it out or drop the bucket slowly and cross your fingers either way.
