I watched a lot of Federer's footage, especially on the forehand side, super slow motion. I can only follow until his take back, after that, it seems like magic due to the way he turns his torso and gets the wrist lagged. These videos open my eyes
Once again, great video fellas. My forehand is very arm dominant due to bad habits. This has generally caused my forehands to lack consistent depth, pace and spin, and hitting arm forehands is fatiguing. This series is definitely going to help me recruit the larger muscles to hit more effortless and powerful forehands. Looking forward to seeing more content. Btw, glad Dayday kept the hair "untamed".
Great to hear! With the proper training you can overcome any bad habit. Have you checked out our free webinar? racquetflex.com/fh-webinar Inside are practical ways to recruit the larger muscles so you can instantly start hitting those effortless forehands.
Immediate subscribe. I'm working on the transition into a modern forehand right now, one of the most awesome and brainy (and cool) explanations I've seen. Thanks!
Ist only me looking at his hair during slowmos? :D :D Good video. I like the Channel. Very on the basis on content. There aren't many tennis channels so insightful.
nice video. you are the first youtuber i have seen who has the modern forehand down on the tube and i’ve seen at least a dozen or more. i was furious with them for teaching decades old techniques on the internet polluting young players mind. keep up the good work.
i feel like putting your non hitting arm in front naturally sets up your lower body into a power position (to rotate from) since your left leg will be in front. dimitrov does this really well
@RacquetFlex By far my favorite tennis channel : you make everything cristal clear, and not like many others, you both are good theoreticians AND sublime practicians. That forehand you have is all I want to develop. Btw, is that a 93 blx blade tour?? Stock or with some tape under the bumper?
I just have to say you are killing it. Excellent explanations which really put the image in my mind. I love the depth with which you describe what is going on, especially the physical science. Plus, gotta love the lofi background beats (That might be my favorite part). I hope your channel takes of or you make good money coaching. Keep on keeping on buddy
I think "athletic height" has more to do with hitting height with optimal body leverage, so that the plane of rotation includes the ball and your center of mass at contact. This all depends, of course, on the height of the ball at contact: the lower the ball, the deeper the knee bend, and the higher the ball, the more "jump" into the stroke.
Great video,!! Many thanks. Hips don't do the rotation you describe, not sure what does the rotation you describe, probably the trunk or waist. The hip does rotate but it rotates the leg , and there is very little force that can be generated with pure hip rotation. If you lift your leg and then internally or externally rotate the leg, that gives a sense of what hip rotation is and how little power that has. I doubt whether any hip rotation is involved. I have been listening to everyone talk about hip rotation in this context but its not at all accurate,
Very nice. I started focusing on hip rotation and I could feel the potential but how I combine it with upperbody is hard. Looking forward to the next video!
I wish I had a coach like this when I played tennis in high school, instead of a football coach/driver ed teacher who couldn't be fired because his lawyer wife donated a big sum of money to the school.
Timing might be more important than speed, and accuracy more important than power but actually you will get them all in one by going down the path to the source of effortless explosive swinging. Follow RacquetFlex, guys, they guide you to the well of wisdom. Then it’s up to you: Learn. Apply. Win! And be water, guys.
Sorry to disappoint you, but those are some false information, only thing right about this is about the gravity part, lower central force. Btw you fall on your back all the time :). You need more in depth informations cause i agree that most of it is True for casual and amateurs, but only for them. Have a good Day !!
That's a great way to visualize your forehand. The leg drive, while not always necessary (or optimal) to use, for your basic drive forehand, pushing the ground and rotating forward by focusing on your upper body as we'll cover the next video of this series is a sure way to developing a solid forehand. Thanks for watching Jose! 🎾

Hi Hong! It is indeed hard to generate power when a ball is coming at you with a lot of speed. This would be a perfect situation to redirect your opponent's pace.
If they lack power and you're having issues, your timing is most likely off. Simply focusing on "bounce-hit" to have a smooth rhythm usually helps whether the shot is fast or slow. You stop thinking about body parts and technique and naturally hit your stroke.
the only BIG problems is that for modern forehand u need to be in the RIGHT position always in TIME, so STOP about the modern forehand and START telling how not to be late on balls its more IMPORTANT.
Use the fully open forehand stance man. It will save you that millisecond needed at elite level tennis, that you appear to be playing. I am cringing for the day, when you disappear from the internet, after you are taken away by the wind, that catches yo hare.🤭🌪️😂
While I do agree with you, we do generate power when we keep at least one foot on the ground and keep leaning forward. But I don't really see him leaning forward on his video. I don't know if he's saying that's a right move or not because I'm deaf. Tbh, I really dislike his forehand posture @0:25 or @0:55 or even @2:05 . Only liked the one @1:20 which is exactly (IMO) how you generate the most power. Also liked @1:36 This guy knows how to hit it hard.
Why are you jumping? You lose power when hit in the air. Try hitting with both legs well planted on the ground, you will transfer a lot more power to the ball.
Saying your forehand technique is a way to generate effortless power is absolutely ridiculous. The amount of wasted energy put into those leaping forehands huge. What average human could put that effort into each shot for entire tennis match. Not even the super fit athelete Rafa uses such an extreme method. And the joke is you are calling it Effortless Power.

First of all, i like your voice and clean tips
dramatic opening, i like it
Best insight coaching, thank you very much.
I need this. this part I can't seem to develop. I always rely on upper body and just surrender that I have weak balls
Very good videos. Very instructive.
i suffer quite a bit of forehand over rotation because i push my shoulder forward on contact. so i’m looking forward to episode 3!
Gerardo Segura
Is this because of not decelerating the arm?
G CS could be. It could also be that I may not engage Lower body or I open up too early
What do u recommend

Teaching someone to hit ball with your left leg up , standing on right is litterly terrible idea 90% of people here will end up loosing balls xD
