This channel is underrated - the videos are well filmed and edited, instructions are clear with animated graphics and backed by data and research. You guys have great energy and obviously enjoy what you are doing and in return makes us enjoy the video more. There are a lot of tennis lessons on youtube focusing on what not to do and the negative vibe makes me not want to play at all. I do think sometimes the jokes and outtakes distract us from the really nice insights and maybe it'll be better to keep them in a B-reel at the end but that's just my opinion.
It is funny that 5.2% speed contribution due to forearm pronation is called massive technique and game change, while 54.2% speed contribution thanks to upper arm internal rotation should have been emphasized more. Imaging 5% of improvement of any technique means nothing for most of us. A misguiding tennis technique video here!
@@ve1803 Nope, you're wrong. I've been pronating since I watched their videos and it put ZERO pressure on the shoulder when combined with let drive and proper trophy pose and racquet drop.
Only having discovered your channel recently, I find it to be the best one by far for carefully connecting the biomechanical science with the actual tennis motion. Outstanding. Keep your videos coming!
I believe that with the proper grip and being loose enough, leading on edge and pronation occur naturally. I have a feeling all of the top servers when they were young didn't even know what pronation was, but they were able to be loose enough to implement the correct mechanics early on.
Probably, I was never taught pronation and do it, but not to the extreme amount that the pros do which feels pretty unnatural without specifically training it.
I agree with this 100%. I'm pretty sure no one told Stan Smith, Dick Stockton, Chip Hooper, Yannick Noah, Boris Becker, Ivanisevic, Sampras and so many others about pronation. Tennis coaches today try too hard to be all-knowing and I have a feeling that they would complicate rather than simplify things. This guy in particular I find annoying he seems immature and giggles like an idiot.
Your coaching how to serve in general and fundamentals are so helpful!! I thought I was serving correctly until I found your serve lessons in UA-cam. Still struggling with changes I needed to make but it makes perfect sense and it actually works tremendously when things starts to click. Keep doing what you do coaches we love you for your thorough teaching not only in serve but all other skills!! 😊👍🎾👌🫡
The serve is probably the most complex stroke in tennis utilizing pretty much every part of the body. Legs, hips, back, shoulder, forearms, and wrist. It's like sending a shockwave of force from the ground through your body to your hands to get maximum racquet head speed. And this channel explains it very thoroughly. 👍
I finally understand how to serve based on your vid. There are hundreds of other vids but I haven’t been able to transfer any of them to the court side. Thank you. I mean I’m not there yet and it’s always WIP but on the right track. My contact point is now correct and the serve is hit cleanly.
The most complete explanations on pronation I've seen. The fact that he classified it with forearm and internal shoulder rotation shows its quality, IMHO. Anyway thanks. I wonder who the dr. Elliott is. Lol.
I really appreciate all of the biomechanics as someone who deals with medicine on a daily basis (physician), this makes more sense to someone like myself. I think a lot of this is information is instituted in the techniques by top coaches without delving to the young players "why we do what we do". Again, thank you for this phenomenal explanation.
OMG, just found you guys and wish I had sooner. I love the energy and enthusiasm combined with the science behind things. You break it down very nicely and I love the graphics. Personally I like that you also have fun in your videos as you're just the type of coach I'd love to have. And you're right, getting the blueberries on the pancakes properly is key to a good service game.
Bro, I love you. All your videos helped me with PERFECT practice make perfect. Your video lessons are better than the several hour session with a qualified coach. I bought your home court advantage last year to keep up with practice at home. Thank you.
Hey Aladdin! Comments like this are what inspire us to make these videos - much appreciated 😁 It takes a great student with good work ethic to go out to the court and make it happen. Thanks for being such a star!
Very nice video and great job. Beware, if you manufacture pronation, more than anything you will get golfers’s elbow which will affect ur forehand later. this is the best video I ve seen. Thanks for the share.
Love these videos -- great instruction and delivery! It would be great to see some WTA players included in the pro technique clips used in the videos throughout the channel.
No, did you say 3k likes ??? Bro what an explanation. Checking up all the boxes, i didn't know even know that i didn't know, that exist!!! Hands down 🙌🏽
samprus is using a short axis pronation which is the way I do according to my coach, it is like the weapon of Bruce Lee, to accelerate the racket head speed by shorten the length or the radius suddenly.
That is a great point indeed! If you have the shoulder mobility, strength and joint stabilization, I've noticed it to be one of the best types of post-contact rotations that also creates so much spin (hence Sampras' deadly kick) 😉
Thank you bro. Just discovered your channel and it helps a lot. Really love your enthusiasm 😀 and humor. Will try all your tips and win better my matches ...
Wow 5000th like! I was over rotating through the arm and started to get medial epicondylitis from it. I’m going to experiment with stretching the pecs and shoulder then doing serves that rotate from the shoulder when my tendons are less inflamed. Thanks!
Great vid! I was wondering if you could cover weight training and exercises for tennis players off the court. This would include specific workouts/tips.
Conceptually one should get more speed by continuing internal rotation past contact due to not slowing down into contact but the racquet head slows down so much at impact that one can probably go into impact at full speed and still have very little external rotation past impact. The main reason for involuntary internal rotation past release in throwing is deceleration and that just isn’t an issue with serving due to how much the racquet slows at impact (and because the hand isn’t moving as fast given that a racquet is much heavier than a baseball.)
This videos are the fuckin' best. Love the style, technique display, and the overall instruction. Y'all are on another level. Thanks for all that y'all do!
what a wonderful movie turned out, and what magnificent views around the court, I just want to go to training. from Moscow with love. ❤️🎾🇷🇺 PS With you, I am not only learning to play tennis, but also learning to speak English.
In the clip, where he say counter clockwise (59 seconds into the video) this is the illustration. While he says that, notice which way the arrow is pointing. He should have said clockwise, not counterclockwise, unless you are the opponent looking at the server, then it would be counter clockwise, and we are looking from the perspective of the server, thus clockwise.
Is there any exercise to work out this pronation action of your arm and shoulder, with a weight instead of the racquet? In order to develop the supple movement.
Excellent video! Could you talk about strings and tensions? I was curious which string is this green one you use! It would be great to talk about these topics!
Arms back, down and to right. And then point at the ball with your elbow. Racket leading edge must pass the ball before you contact ball. Turn your forehand before contact.
i've tried this technique, but to make sure im in the right way, what should my arm feel, after execution. is it my wrist, fore arm or shoulder should be feel more tense?
Here I am again. Two years into trying to learn how to serve I am back to this video where my research for correction begun. My serve still doesn't exist. I'll give it another try.

nope. mislead.
This is a classic tail wags dog fallacy. keep doing what they suggested you will only get a rotator cuff tear and early retirement from tennis.
Hey! I post replay of atp tennis match

Best tennis channel. Involves the science and the athleticism of tennis. Can’t wait to get this into practice!
8:53 "A deal is a deal!" Love it! I can't wait to see that video!
Great, tyvm!
His racket drop fluidity and his hair are amazing

Same here.
Great lesson. Great video !!! 69 years old and still trying to improve.
Thanks 😊
Never too old 😀✅✅
Nice

This guy is very technical and correct, hope to see more videos...cheers from Lima
Love your serve man!

These videos are better than any lesson I could pay for. So educational. Game changer! Literally. 😉

You’ve got the BEST channel about tennis guys!
I enjoy watching it, having fun and learning from you.
I improved my service skills massively thanks!
I appreciate that you listed the studies that you reference in your presentation!
Never thought about that throwing baseball and football player analogy!!! It makes it much easier to understand
Thank You! I finally made some improvement in my serve thanks to a few of your videos
Best channel for tennis technique
Thanks so much Zico!

Agree with this. Once the right principles are in place, the pronation will work automatically ✅
your presentations are the best, outstanding, most attractive, clear and useful for tennis players of all levels

Great way to get Ultimate power on the serve and equally great illustration of a simple concept..! Perfect Instruction..!
Very nice video and great job. Beware, if you manufacture pronation, more than anything you will get golfers’s elbow which will affect ur forehand later. this is the best video I ve seen. Thanks for the share.
One of best explanations out there. Thx.
Love these videos -- great instruction and delivery! It would be great to see some WTA players included in the pro technique clips used in the videos throughout the channel.
Awesome! Finally i understood the serve 👏👏👏👏
Terrific use of physiology and research

These guys are good!! Thanks for helping me improve my game!
Love the compact elbow around shoulder level on set up rather than dropping racquet to side and usual full windup.
Awesome content as well as delivery!👍

Really really interesting and precise approach. Thank you
Thanks . Exactly . I catch up what you show…
Thank you so much for your videos. Can you show how the serve swing path looks like? I hit the net many times
Excellent tips. Thanks guys
Ayos pre! Galing!
Unbelievable, that is your real laugh, I thought it was someone else you edited in. You are in the Kawhi Leonard camp. Lol. Great work.

Hi Coach. Can you please advise where to exactly hit the tennis ball on contact? Ty
Fantastic explanation!
what a wonderful movie turned out, and what magnificent views around the court, I just want to go to training. from Moscow with love. ❤️🎾🇷🇺
PS With you, I am not only learning to play tennis, but also learning to speak English.
Great tips! Thank you.
Thanks! On a flat serve at contact should the wrist be neutral or radially deviated? Slice? Thanks.

Gracias amigos! Son cracks!💪💪💪
Really helpful
Outstanding, really!

Excellent video! Could you talk about strings and tensions? I was curious which string is this green one you use! It would be great to talk about these topics!
Looks like Solinco Hyper G, a co-poly string, very grippy and relatively soft
you are fantastic!
Could you show the racquet drop in slow motion, hard to pick the positions.Thanks.
Arms back, down and to right. And then point at the ball with your elbow. Racket leading edge must pass the ball before you contact ball. Turn your forehand before contact.
good stuff ... can you do some coaching on the reactive brake of the non-hitting arm?
hey man, excellent video! is that a Blade Racket? which model? tnx
GREAT 🔥👏 thanks Coach 💪🏻
IF YOUR ARE PRONATING, HOW DO YOU HIT A SLICE SERVE? wouldnt pronation only be good for flat serve or inside out serves?
i've tried this technique, but to make sure im in the right way, what should my arm feel, after execution. is it my wrist, fore arm or shoulder should be feel more tense?
Crazy great video :D
Here I am again. Two years into trying to learn how to serve I am back to this video where my research for correction begun. My serve still doesn't exist. I'll give it another try.
EXCELLENT!!!
Hey can you put the name of the paper here where you found @04:30
Thks a lot ❤️
TOP TEACHER TENNIS
I am still confused 😕 so slice probates after contact? and some use the probate for extra 5% momentum....so the ball contact is less slice..??? HELP
Thank you for the awesome
Can u make a tutorial on slides for forward(like for drops) and sidewards movements on hard court
Can’t wait!
Thanks for hitting that notification bell! I hope you enjoyed the video ☺️
I will watch simply because of this man's hair.
So is this how you would approach a flat serve?
For a right handed player, why doesn't the internal rotation send the ball to right every time?
