This was their encore number for some time. When I saw them on the Fireball tour, during this tune Ritchie Blackmore soloing, back to audience fell backward into the crowd who propped him back up on stage and he never missed a note.
At this time the line up was-----Jon Lord--keyboards Ritchie Blackmore---guitar Ian Paice----drums Roger Glover----bass Ian Gillan----vocals. Jon Lord was a musical genius. My favorite singer is Ian Gillan though the band has always had great musicians. Song my Little Little 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks again Guys.
...many singers , but the best of the best is who is singing : Ian Gillan! (Deep Purple mark I: Rod Evans, mark II: Ian Gillan, mark III: david coverdale+Glenn Hughes , (mark IV: Bolin as a new guitar player)… Mark V: J. L. Turner, and after: Ian Gillan again, since 1992 until nowadays )
@harryschonfeld8175, he returned in 84 and was fired in 89 ( after that, he joined for some time as a singer in the group Garth Rocket moonshiners). He came back in 1992 ( after Joe Lee Turner, the new DP vocalist, wasn’t fit with the band as was expected)… and Ritchie Blackmore - with Ian Gillian return - didn’t want to work with him , and left the band in 1993. After that , Steve Morse joined DP.
The three vocalists listed were in addition to the lead vocalist Gillan. Gillan is the most important vocalist. Besides the fact that he was (and is) in the band much longer than the other vocalists, it was with him that the band released revolutionary albums and became huge. And yes, John Airey is also a great keyboard player, although John has a different charisma and influence.
There is a live version from 1984 in Sydney when George Harrison joins Purple on stage for encore and introduces himself as Arnold Grove from Liverpool ..
C'mon. I thought you had learned this by now. DP has had 4 vocalists. Mark I ('68-'69) Rod Evans. Mark II ('68-'73/'84-'89 Mk II reunion/'92-93 Mk II second reunion, Mark VI and to this date) Ian Gillan. Mark III/IV('73-'76) David Coverdale. Mark V ('89-'92) Joe Lynn Turner. Jon Lord(RIP) was the keyboard player continously from '68 'til '02, when he retired and Don Airey replaced him.
@@buckshroyer5665 Tend to agree with you. Slaves and Masters are in my opinion DP's absolute weakest album. Not even a proper DP album. More like a Rainbow album, and not even a really good one at that. But that's Blackmore for you. Personally I mean he ruined both DP and Rainbow in his search for AOR success.
@@buckshroyer5665 Well he does count. The album was more Rainbow than Deep Purple but it was an official Deep Purple album so Turner has to be recognised as one of the band's singers. He was in the band for 2 years. 1990 -1992. You may not like the album but that doesn't mean you can re-write history. 🤷♂
-JOHN LORD IN MY TOP 3 WITH RICK WAKEMAN AND KEITH EMERSON 🎹🎹🎹🎹 GUY'S YOU LIKE THE HAM. WURLITZER ORGAN, YOU DEFINITELY HALF TO DAVE DEEP INTO ELP, WHO BY THE WAY SHOULD BE IN THE ROCK AND THE HALL OF FAME AND DEFINITELY YES 🎹
Of all the vocalists you mentioned, you left out Ian Gillan! This is Ian on vocals here. And for my favorite, , Ian Gillan! David Coverdale could sing, but he wasn't Ian Gillan!! And you forgot about Ian Paice on the drums!!!!
This Live album Made In Japan, is recognised as the greatest Live album ever to be recorded. There are no edits or overdubs, everything on the album is exactly what they played at the concerts. They did 3 shows in Japan, recorded them all, (on a crappy 8 track machine) and took the best tracks from them to make the double album. There is also a 3 CD album of all the 3 concerts called Live In Japan. This is Deep Purple in their prime in 1972, everyone was on top form. They should look back and listen to this and be immensely proud. To quote Winston Churchill, "This was their finest hour". I'm a huge fan, in case you hadn't guessed.😉
Ian Gillan! Top Vocalist.
Young Gillan was an alien.
... There are many good hard rock groups, but DEEP PURPLE are among the absolute best!! 🎸🥁🎹🎤 Thank You
That’s what I call chaotic hectic jamming.

Gracias por reaccionar a la mejor banda del mundo mundial sin dudas la mejor formacioon de mi amado deep purple ❤
I second that. Deep Purple will always be my favorite.

Lucille with George Harrison in 1984 is amazing.!💜🔥
BBC in concert
Black Sabbath,Led Zeppelin,Deep Purple the holy triad of rock music🤘
DEEP PURPLE ON FIRE🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Taking the "Little Richard" song to new hights. Great action here.

I think you mean since 1984. Gillan returned to the band with the album Perfect Stranger, in 1984. And never left again. So far...

I purchased this album when it first came out, but later bought the CD's for the encores. MK2 was the best line-up
Good song

DON Airey.
@Thebeastfromnorth75 Yes, Don
John Lord top tier for sure. Check out Lazy studio version, John is crazy.
It's Jon* Lord.
Deep Purple Mk II - Ian Gillan as vocalist
Purple and old rockenroll!
Rippin it up. Legends.
That song I've never heard before. It was interesting. You had nice reactions. Thanks.

Jon, Lord of the Hammond, is quite good on this one!!
Fan favourite by a country mile..ian gillan

Eight track plug into the dashboard, the buddies collected the weed and hot boxed the car...

Burn!!!!...please!
From Cal Jam 1. Best Stratocaster tone ever
There was a live Lucille from Sweden 1972
Doors influence is evident
As is the rock n roll influence. All musicians are influenced by someone.
As good as Jon Lord is the best organist has to be Keith Emerson, Suggest you try "Anya" from 'Come Hell or High Water'
Made in Japan the Rising Sun
Deep Purple, "Made In Japan" or Led Zeppelin , "The Song Remains The Same" ??
No comparison I'm afraid. Deep Purple "smoked" Led Zep all ways up.
Strange... You react to Purple but don't know the members och call a Hammond B3 "Piano"?
It's NOT "Made In Japan"
Yes it is buddy.
@@CB-xr1eg my bad, it's 25th Anniversary remaster. I don't have this one, only 3CD "Live in Japan" without Lucille.
Yeah, Jon Lord was the greatest!
