Fun fact. The reason your cat meows at you when their bowl isnt full is because they can easily get whisker fatigue. Their whiskers are VERY sensitive. If they have to shove their face down into their bowl to eat, it can overstimulate their whiskers. Thats why you should have a very shallow bowl for them to eat from. Or even better. A plate...
Your cat stands at their bowl and meows at you because you don’t give them enough attention and that’s one way theyve learned to get it. I’ve had to make do with some pretty awful dishes across the 5 cats in our family that we see all of at least once within a span of every couple days and none of them meow at their bowl because I make sure they actually get enough attention that they never learned they needed to beg for it. Play with your cats.
@@jasonbarry3301 hmm. You think so? Because when my cats want attention, they bring whatever toy they wanna play with up to me. My cats almost never meow. My boy cat did his first couple nights with me but I think that was just separation anxiety and him looking for the rest of his litter. But beyond that. My cats are mostly quiet and content and they know there are better ways to get my attention than meowing over a half empty food bowl. They also know I have zero qualms with playtime. I have shelves built all around my house that they run around on. We call it zoom time. I have a toy on a stick that I use and they chase it while jumping and climbing all over their shelves. They really seem to enjoy it. Perhaps you're projecting a bit. Perhaps your cats ARE bored with you and their environment. Perhaps that's why you don't see them that often. Here's an idea. Try switching out their toys. I have enough toys for my cats where I can swap them out every month and they don't see the same toy for 2 months. With the exception of my boy cats boudinki. He loves his boudinki. Perhaps your cats hate their bowls and whenever they do meow. You THINK they want attention so you just start playing with them. Cats are very easily distracted like that. Maybe you're just misunderstanding their needs. It's very easy to do. Cats are fickle little things. At any rate. Thanks for your input. I'll definitely be sure to ignore it because I know for a fact that my cats aren't just bored. But idk. Perhaps you're right. Did you go to veterinary school? Did you spend 8 years studying and going to class to literally become an expert on animals?
Thank you so much for the tips! I've had the cat wheel set up in my spare bedroom for a month, and I haven't been able to get my cat to go near it. I honestly was ready to put it on Craigslist, when I found your video. I moved it to the living room, and she's started walking on it!
Thank you! Finally was able to get a wheel on fb marketplace that was within budget and I want to make sure to introduce it carefully to my super zoomy and somewhat skittish lil babe 😊
Just got mine assembled. I'm gonna give it a day for my lil' guy to get used to it. He's not usually very food motivated, except for milk. I might try letting him lick a spoon or something dipped in sour cream. I might try one or two spots, but first I'm gonna do right under the TV. When I do home workouts in that space he always gets the zoomies. Thanks for the helpful tips.
@@thefarmguy656 Making good progress. He was so afraid of the wheel at first my partner was already looking for where to resell it! Tried about a dozen treats, none seemed effective. But a few toys he never preferred seemed to do the trick 🤷. Haven't run more than 4 or 5 steps and he hasn't run independently yet, but I did spy him getting in the wheel while I made breakfast
Thanks for the info, but what is with the horrible intrusive music? We have ordered a cat wheel! Best of luck to you and your furry friends and I have three on my lap right now!
I think my boyfriend was spinning the wheel and scared them. As soon as I buy clothes they are laying on it, but not the wheel. Get rid of the music, it sucks. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
The S sounds in the video are so sharp and tinny, giving a lisp crossed with whistle effect. Couldn’t listen to the rest of the video with the first few S sounds pronounced. Ouch
We have this one cat named Joey who is the size of a tiny lion who would destroy this cat wheel easily in an afternoon, so no. No chance we are installing one in this house.
Wow you are cute you look like Emmy Rossum. I got distracted but the cat wheel is something I always wanted except for the cost. Is this one any cheaper? Thanks

This is exactly why I use a plate for my cats. Now they only meow when it's fully empty

Very smart idea looking there! Have fun 😊
I love the word zoomies. I wish I could afford a cat wheel for my cat because she loves to run.

Helpful video, but just a friendly FYI, maybe turn down and music volume in the future. It kind of drowns out your voice.

Music is too loud.............
Awesome video just got one
Cats can't clean out a bowl with food crumbs or stuck food around the edges. Use a spoon and put the foot on a plate. They may eat it that way.
My cat looks exactly the same and meows when bored!!

I tried using the coupon code today and it’s no longer valid :/
Sorry about that. The company ended their partner program sadly
If the discount code is no longer valid please take it down

Makes sense. How heavy is Joey?
@@badcatfamily I dunno, 17lbs? He's not that bright.
I will add he is very handsome which more than makes up for his lack of brain power.
🤣 he sounds very lovable

You are beautiful
