Naw he won't make them better can't make any money off that. Does minor tweaks to a bike so he can charge a few hundred more than its actually worth.

Right after I got my blackbird 2 1/2 years, I switched out that funky dropper post that it came with for a PNW suspension dropper post. I hand reamed out the suit post tube from 30.5 mm to 30.9 and it works fantastic. It cushions the big bumps. Love my Blackbird. 8:16
It would be nice to see a more powerful controller.
Keep the rack and tail light. Its very functional when needing to carry stuff. Just received my Blackbird and agree it's a exceptional value ebike. If getting into more dirt, maybe some more dirt friendly tires? Great choice on Vee tires, not as noisy for my riding surfaces.
I am looking forward to the stronger battery mount as mine has popped off a couple of times and i now wrap it with a elastic strap

I’m on board for that improved battery mount - the amount of shaking and looseness of the battery is concerning and feels like it’s prone to fatigue breakage.
One other improvement that could be part of that battery mount upgrade would be some sort of splash guard or sealing to protect the battery and connections inside from mud and water. It gets so muddy and dirty and there’s not a good way to clean it. I bought an Amazon drawstring cover but that only protects it from above, and a lot of water and road grime blasts into it from the front wheel.

Fantastic! I’m looking forward to the more rigid battery mount. However would the controller cover being more open cause problems in the rain and snow?
i use a gopro mount that brackets under the saddle rails for my tail light. Make quick connect clamps for rear rack.

I'm looking at getting the Blackbird Step-Thru version, I'd like to see it in 24" with a turn signal incorporated in it's braking system. The controller box that you just created, how will it hold up with water/snow? Those holes can't be good for it. It needs to keep the rear rack and it's fenders, maybe make them easier to take off the rear one for those who don't mind getting mud slung up their backsides, though I'd like to see a better front one, as well as a better headlight with brighter/larger field of view. Better option of battery would be nice too. 50A+ would be excellent. The ability to remove the rear rack for those who don't always need it, should be an option maybe making it with a way to keep a mount for the brake light, or maybe figure a way to incorporate it into the frame like some of the other bikes are doing. It'd be worth the extra cost to get turn signals and brighter/wider headlights, as well as an in-built security system.

If you could design a plate bracket that mounts to the front most rack holes closest to the seat post, that would work. Using those two rack holes once the rack is removed, a plate with a place to mount the tail light on the top..Not much distance to the seat post or else you could include a place on the plate to mount a tool bag on the front of the bracket plate.
Hi Kyle I get the airflow thing but what about water getting inside ? as I've been stuck in some heavy down poor's. commuting . Weather is sometimes unpredictable and changes quickly at times times and so it happens. Also if I want to make it a duel motor running completely independent are the forks heavy enough to handle a 750 watt 35 amp controller ?
I know it's crazy but I like speed and those are a couple things I would want to have as options with hydrochloric brakes .
I would like twist throttle on the right and thumb throttle on the left similar to the citizens cycle guy if you ever ran across his video ?
Between your videos and watching his bike reviews and upgrades I learned all I know from you both .

It's also wonderful seeing you triumph and over come all of your adversity and trials you are huge inspiration to me that we can over come obstacles that sometimes seem nearly impossible .

Just a reminder if using Shimano 9-speed there are tons of New Old Stock dual control shifters that will allow you to do throttle and shift

Would it be a bad idea to add more vent holes in the stock controller box? If so any recommendations on how many size and location.
I'd like to have a rear view camera. If 12v was available, I could use one available for cars. If recently added one on my old truck. Even though I have had my blackbird 2 years, I don't know what the seat dropper is used for?

I'm not a fan of the double trigger great selector. Why not replace it with the push button design? Especially as the push button design works better with a twist throttle IMHO.

Unfortunately not.
The Black Bird needs a refresh, A Manitou fork and a nicer frame. My one gripe with the Black Bird has always been the cheap-looking very generic frame.
@@kendallthurm2771 I was thinking more of a traditional fat tire mountain bike frame, and with an upgraded fork it would take a couple pounds off.. make it more trail capable,
Definitely a 3000w mxus and a 50A controller at 72v...
