Crushing it all the time... my lord, how much I love this band, and definitely one of my all time favorites... thank you for such a incredible gift with this one
Yep. Toy Caldwell's guitar genius made the Marshall Tucker band. I wish he were still alive and pickin'. Those were the days when music was music and girls were girls.
Now I absolutely love this one.. one of my favorite songs from the MTB .. absolutely love it.. thank you for the most beautiful gift ever.. great music and memories
You were born in 75 and you're just now getting to Marshall Tucker Band? I was born in 77 and I've been pumping this since high school! However, it does help that I am from South Carolina lol
I credit Toy for getting me to learn to play guitar. When Guitar Hero was so popular I realized they were never going to put any MTB classics in the game so I figured I better learn them myself.
Beautiful. The band at its best. Anyone who posts and/or listens to the embarrassment known as the 21st century version of "the Marshall Tucker Band" fronted by Doug needs to listen to this.
Yes , It was the band at it's best , but there is no cause to begrudge Doug for trying to make a living. The 21st century version is pretty damn good when compared to the shit coming out now a days.
Edit: another look at this reveals that this was after Tommy's passing, so it wasn't 1975. Still sounds very good, and interesting that Toy and George swapped instruments on this song. But Tommy was indispensable to the band's sound and attitude. I was fortunate to see his last show before his fatal accident in 1980. The original band was a gift to all.
❤ marshall tucker band is fantastic . Allman brothers marshall tucker band and lynyrd skynyrd are timeless . Its as great now as it was when they was made
Quincy Jones once remarked his touring jazz band had 30 world class musicians that could each easily headline their own act playing for four hours with unlimited solos. They each gave up that option just for the common good of the jazz band with the limited opportunity to play perhaps 1 or 2 solos in an evening. George played good lead but he took rhythm playing to a new level.
Never seen Toy rock a Strat, interesting. Also I’m assuming Franklin Wilkie is on bass just out of the picture as Tommy was always front and center with the rest of the guys. This has had to be well after 1975 as he was gone by 1980. God test his soul.
Good stuff, , , ah but obviously Toy needs his Les Paul and not that Strat to give us his best tone, , , I do believe he was letting George shine on this tune, God Bless him.
BOTH BROTHERS DIED LONG AGO, NOW. BORN AND RAISED NOT FAR FROM THE ATHLETIC BOYS!! TOY, A MARINE, FOUGHT IN VIETNAM . When he returned to Spartanburg, he lost his brother Tommy, TOMMY DIED IN A JEEP ACCIDENT. EVIDENCE PROVED THE TOWN'S STRANGE RE-CONSTRUCTION WOULD HAVE KILLED ANYONE ♥️♥️ And, understandably, NEVER was the same. All I know is it still hurts. My best friend always played ball with his best friends, and their mom AND DAD I
TOY WAS NEVER THE SAME ♥️🙏✝️ I UNDERSTAND. MY ONE AND ONLY TOTALLY GIFTED AND PASSIONATE SON WAS MURDERED BY A DERANGED, AND JEALOUS DRUNK!! HE SHOT MY SON 3 TIMES. MY SON WAS UNARMED AND WANTED TO HELP 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇺🇸🇺🇸♥️🙏🙏✝️✝️✝️
Equal parts cowboy band/ garage band/ jam band. If you didn't see'em Live in the 70' s you missed something unique. All respect to Joan Jett- she's in the Rock n Roll HOF 3 times (plus the Blackhearts once), and there's no room for Marshall Tucker? I don't get it.
I'm so glad, so glad, I was able to enjoy their music in person. So glad.
Seeing this makes me happy and sad at the same time.
I'm sure you know why if you're reading this.
It's criminal this band isn't in the RRHOF. Criminal I say!
There's a lot of deserving bands not in Hof . It's gone to hell anymore
Crushing it all the time... my lord, how much I love this band, and definitely one of my all time favorites... thank you for such a incredible gift with this one

Yep
Do not ever forget George Mc Korkle who was outstanding on his own.
Watched so many times and have to admit George Mc Corkle is another Star. As much as I love Toy, George killed it.
Miss yall fellas...R.I.P. But your music still lives on!
Now I absolutely love this one.. one of my favorite songs from the MTB .. absolutely love it.. thank you for the most beautiful gift ever.. great music and memories
Go George go. Undeniably a great band. Fun every time I saw them and their dvd has been loved in this house. I’ll miss them till my end.
Wow, don't know how i missed this before.... so freakin real, they never play it the same way twice.... I love that
The music starts and my heart breaks with the memories. :}
This band is really something special. They are so talented on the various instruments they play; Doug is an amazing and strong frontman
Yes..one of the best songs ever!
AWESOME how could Anyone give this performance a thumbs down?? Love MTB go get the Live album they released a couple years again :""Live from the UK"
Saw them live in 77 at Pine Knob. My favorite band at the time.
Love these guys, brings my high school days back…I’m almost 64
I've always loved Paul Riddle's sidestick playing. Also prominent on Can't You See, it's part of what makes the MTB sound.
OMG!!! GIF Daugherty, Tom Nelson, Debbie, and myself drove from Tularosa, NM to El Paso to see them in concert in 1978... It was AWESOME!!!
I saw Tucker several times, but I would have loved to hear them in a small bar with plenty of beer to drink
Wow! Incredible band, and Doug and Toy just take it over the line in this one!
Eric Ghost. Hell them O’l Boys took it over the line on All of them. Ain’t Nobody like the MTB!!!
Southern rock is all pretty. I do Heard it in a Love song and I enjoy the music in the song as much as singing it.
Don’t forget George
This shit never gets old! I hope played at my last breath
Have followed them since the 70s.
Born in 75 & just got here now, sounds awesome.
Better late than never....damn straight...

@@teddyjackeddy6279 TRUTH couldn't have said it better.
While this is the best version of MTB, I saw them summer before last with Charlie Daniels (RIP) and they sounded pretty damn good.

The Wet Willie Band, the heroes of Southern Rock, are among them!
Once you hear them, you'll see that there's no need to dispute this opinion!
The Holy Trinity for sure
SUCH A GREAT SONG ! LOVE IT
I never knew George was such a good lead player.
Quincy Jones once remarked his touring jazz band had 30 world class musicians that could each easily headline their own act playing for four hours with unlimited solos. Awesome! Great! Fantastic! I can't use enough superlatives!
this song will have you crying on a tab
i saw marshall tucker get accepted in the south carolina hall of fame yeas ago
Go George, GO! Mr. McCorkle steps out and takes a solo. So cool.
