- Building out my lens collection has been a great joy. These two lenses are some of the first purchases I made and Have been a great option with a budget. If you are looking for vintage lenses and cine lenses on a budget I would highly recommend the canon df 50mm f1.4 and the sir magic 21mm f1.6 to pair with your black magic pocket cinema camera 4k.

Your thoughts were good but Evie's were more convincing haha. Great footage!
Haha I couldn’t agree more man ! She gave some side words lol
Dude loving these examples and your commentary with your daughter!
One day I'd love to be a dad, and I love seeing you guys having fun together and you carry that into your edit too
@@CianBrennan Thanks so much ! Being a father is one of the greatest gifts and I’m so thankful that I can bring that to my channel !
Awesome shots and I really liked the vibes of the video. Felt like a small, high quality documentary, capturing a moment in your life. Keep it up man!
I can’t thank you enough for this comment ! That’s my heart
Beautiful work !
the FD's on the 4K are beautiful. Very overlooked & cost effective combo
nice, you created magic
Man thanks so much for this ! Huge compliment
Really great!
Thanks so much man !
Dude hell yea, I've only been into photography for a couple months and bought an A7ii a couple weeks ago, got an adapter for me fd 50 1.4 and fd 28 2.8 and it's just an uncomparable feeling, and it's also a lot better/easier to learn the importance of aperture, especially coming from just using the widest aperture when I first started
I agree man ! Super organic feel to the footage
Nice footage :D
AYYEEEEE!!!! Welcome aboard the vintage lens train, ALL ABOARD! 🚂
Just picked up another last night lol crazy affordable man
@@justinragsdale4091 for real and you just can’t replicate the organic look of dirty ol glass! Which one did you get this time?
@@Unlockfilm I see what you are saying man. I went with another fd the 28mm this time
@@justinragsdale4091 heck yeah man! The 28 is solid, I don’t use it as much as my 35 but it renders a nice image and should match your 50 well!
Do you feel you need a cine housing to get the most out of these, or standard photography style usage works well?
What did you adapt your FD lens to? Did you adapt it directly to the M 4/3 or to EOS with a metabones
Hi Justin my name is jay, me and my fiancé recently bought the bmpcc4k, but you inspired us to purchase the sigma 17-50mm w the viltrox speed booster and now with no experience in cinema cameras I’m not able to figure out how to even attach the lens to the speed booster. Could you please explain to me if I’m missing any steps besides matching the red dots and twisting ?
Aren’t flares bad in film making or movie making?
Did you stop using the sigma 17-50? Why?
Do you prefer one over the other if choosing one?
Man that’s tough one. The 21mm is more versatile because of the wider focal length. But if that doesn’t matter it’s really a tough one. The FD is about $60 and the SLR is about $300
work harder
