- Should you buy the Black magic pocket cinema camera 4k in 2022 ? Well it depends. This is my journey and process on how I came to decide that is was the best camera for me and my budget. I've been using the BMPCC4K for over 6 months now so here are my thoughts.

I got mine a few months ago and still blown away by the image from the camera. To save some money I went the route of buying vintage lenses which really forces use to do everything manually!
Man that’s awesome, I’ve been looking into vintage glass. What lenses did you go with ?
@@justinragsdale4091 I went with canon fd original I shot a couple videos with it. Now i shoot with a helios 44-2 and a carl zeiss 25mm f2.8
This video absolutely turned my entire world upside down when I saw your quality over money cost. I was literally thinking about buying the R5c, which in reality is a phenomenal camera but I can agree there is something about a true cinema camera that they can't achieve. Thank you for your perspective on this!

I have the P4K and, even though I can afford to upgrade to the 6KPro, I'm fine with what I have. The image quality is fantastic and I don't need all the new bells and whistles. I'm never in a hurry when filming, so can take the time to make this camera sing.

The pocket 4k has a lot of design flaws, but the image + Resolve make it very much worth it to me. I shoot my stills with a Canon R5 but the video is lacking on that camera. I very much agree that the P4K has excellent IQ and the best UI of all the prosumer camera manufactuers.The price is astounding for what you get and as someone who only hada few grand to spend I love it. The savings from the P4k vs something like the A7sIII let me buy more G&E equipment and really jumpstarted my journey as a filmmaker. Great video, I liked the handeld running shots so much, it really looked tense.

That lens has got to have autofocus capability... love the way it gives a clean image even with subject pacing quite a bit. Good work champ!

may I ask what you're using for ND filter?
@@samuelguce I’ve heard so much good about Zcam, powerful camera that’s also a great price. One of my good fiends uses one. The Nd filter I use is from tide optics. It was a great find for me. Colors don’t shift much and it has never X’d on me. I have the exact link in the camera rig break down in the description. Here is the link to that one.

Great video bro! I got mine for $850 about 2 months and just started getting the Meike lenses the image is so crisp. I’m curious is that an easy rig or one of the alternatives I’ve been considering getting one.
Bro I’ve heard the meike lenses are really good and that they are a great price. I might need to invest in them.
Also it’s not an eazyrig, it’s the flycam flow line basic. I plan on doing a breakdown video on it in the next few weeks to show how much I like it lol
@@justinragsdale4091 Definitley bro I highly recommend I have the 35mm already just ordered the 16mm I truly see the difference between it being cinema and the Sigma 18-35 being a photo lens! And thanks so much I’ll look into getting one I need the stability lol
Blackmagic Pocket 4K is both a perfect set of training wheels as well as one hell of a bike if you know what I mean.

Man thanks so much for this ! It really means a lot. I used the same lens for every project. I actually only own one lens. It’s the sigma 17-50 f2.8 , really versatile lens for around $250-$300.

I read a lot of bad reviews about bmpcc 4k but I went with my gut feeling and man I am not disappointed...I love this camera and the fact that some one inexperienced as myself can operate this sophisticated camera with ease. Hi Justin. My apologies to bother but I needed an advice. I bought freeworld f5 pro monitor for my bmpcc 4k but the hdmi that came with it doesn't seem to go with my camera. Any suggestions which hdmi cable I should buy to hook up f5 pro to my bmpcc? Much appreciated!

Great review . I had the BMPCC 4k and the image is amazing . But because of the battery life , no ibis , the awkward body shape and being hard to see the screen in daylight made this camera unpleasant to even use . Maybe I’m just not ready for a real cinema camera
I totally understand what you are saying. The camera for sure isn’t perfect and every person has different needs for their camera. But a lot of the things you mentioned are features or cinema cameras. What matters most is that you are comfortable with the camera you have and enjoy it. Thanks so much for the love !

( I have a canon c70 and I really dig the 4k sensor and ‘film’ look the MFT gives, but the 6k pro could be more convenient as a “B” Cam… what do you think?

6k is amazing, I only had enough budget for the 4K when I bought it and just haven’t upgraded yet. I don’t think you could go wrong either way. They both are amazing.
