When I ran this game, I did so with an immense amount of passion, and then to see so many people recognizing this and feeling the vibes I felt at the time is a really great feeling. Thank you. It took me about a month of grinding every day for a couple hours. It took only a month because I have played games with strafejumping in them all my life, so I am familiar with how the physics work. I am glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
Very well done! A spectacle of movement skill being displayed. I play doom 3 like that too and sometimes I feel like John and the devs meant for it to be played fast-paced from the get go, like a choice players can make whether they want it nice and slow with a story to match, or doom guy slaying demons like its nothing. I also feel that nightmare difficulty greatly enhances that idea. Thank you for such finesse given, your gameplay is unforgettable.
Damn, you are good! It took me dozens, if not hundreds of saves and many more deaths to get through this on nightmare, nearly fifteen hours of play time, not including reloads! I did it to get the trophy, and so will probably never play on nightmare level again!
Yes, it helps knowing when to use the soul cube for a strong enemy, or when you need a health boost, but many times they killed me in one or two hits even when I DID know where they were- too quick for me to take them out! I'm just not a hardcore gamer
52:50 that skip also works on ps3. even though i did it with mouse and keyboard it should work with a controller too. it's just hard to pull of cause of the 40seconds loading time everytime you mess up. very nice speed run! helped me a lot on the nightmare playthrough!
@@lekolega ive beaten the game on nightmare and both expansions. But I need to figure out how to get this RB mod so I can skip cutscenes. Can I still overclock the game engine to 250hz like I did in BFG Edition?
Very nice run, was fun to watch. Is the shotgun different in RBDOOM3BFG compared to normal DOOM3BFG? I see you and other speedrunners one shot imps almost every time and it never happens for me in normal DOOM3BFG.

Thank you! My speedruns are generally full of useless tics. So it is mostly just passing time and rounding up ammo. I feed my OCD, so to speak :D. The one on 10:24 is a legitimate strategy though. I kill the guy carrying the BFG so I can take it.

It’s a bit stupid that on the series S/X the only doom 3 that’s installable isn’t the original, it’s just BFG edition with the men, and textures and everything
yeah i guess they never ported the OG game properly onto newer consoles. too bad. even the OG xbox version is all nerfed because of the console's hardware limitations at the time.

As for the Delta 2A skip: there is a leftover end level trigger that you can reach by rocketjumping. I am guessing it is a developer oversight. Whatever the case, it is very useful :).

Haha now eveyone will make fun of me for saying that 😁 When you start the game on Nightmare you immediately get it so you can manage your health situation since there are no health pickups, only health stations which are not in great numbers.
I never had the balls to watch one of these speedruns but man you make it look easy. I have the original collectors copy that I bought when the game released and couldn’t use the cheat codes on nightmare so never played it. Seeing the chainsaw play a part in the speedrun warms my heart.
@@lekolega True,been honest,was hard(ish) first 10 levels(scarce of ammo and firepower),then easier. Commando boys were the main trouble,and revenants,one after another.
Noob question. How do you get those 1 hit shotty kills on the armored undead? I sometimes get lucky but most of the time require 2 shots, even while point blank at the head and moving forward.
I guess you mean the Mars Sec gibberish talking shotgun and machinegun dudes. You just gotta come very close and hit as much in the middle as possible so that the shotgun spread does not matter much.

I can barely walk through two rooms without saving my progress aha
Haha. Yeah to my knowledge I don't think anyone has done speedruns on console. It would be impossible to implement strafejumping and very hard to do rocketjumps on nightmare since you need very precise timing on each one to not blow yourself up and controllers mostly have huge input delay compared to keyboards. The ticking down health really does make a difference, that is true. I imagine a console run would be a lot slower.

Finished yesterday Doom3 on nightmare,took me 4 evenings 3-4 hours every day.
It is a bit long. The levels can seem endless.
