    I will walk you through the process of connecting your ground-mounted solar panels to a shed, garage, or even a barn. This process works for short runs like I have here or longer runs where you need to trench 100' or more. Make sure you call to locate your utilities before you dig and also check to see if you have the proper grounds installed at your ground-mount and structure.

    Correction: PVC should be buried 18 inches deep not 12 inches as noted in the video. If you need to go shallower consider installing galvanized metal electrical conduit which can be buried 6 inches deep.

    Thanks for the video! Great explanations on the various steps of your project. Before plugging in the EcoFlow, however, I would have connected the panels and did one final polarity test on the connector. It could save some headaches for some DIY'ers if they had the pos and neg backwards.

    Be sure to add slip joints if your area frost issues.

    Did you use schedule 80 for part of conduit run above ground

    You need to run an equipment ground wire and ground the frames of the panels …

    if you were to have panels on the shed roof is it possible to connect it with the trenched connection?

    Did you consider mounting the panels on the roof of your shed?

    Ok, you lost me on why you switched the colored wires around in the shed. Black to red and red to black. Is it because you have two black male mp4 jumper connectors and two red female jumper connectors? Otherwise, you would have needed one black male and one black female jumper to keep the black wire the same throughout the run. Same for the red. As I'm writing this, I am kind of figuring out why myself. Your wires from the solar panel both need a mail connector on one end and a female connector on the other end to work like an extension cord. I think I got it now. Thanks for putting this video out there.

    What sort of pliers(?) are you using at 6:40 to strip the wire?

    Hey, what type of PVC conduit are you using, and where in the code allows for 12 inches? That will save me so much work. Thanks.a

      And please provide code reference to this question as well.

      I used schedule 40 and I was mistaken the PVC should be 18 inches deep not 12 inches.

    For 200W worth of panels it'll take like 50yrs just to offset the cost of the conduit? Seems like a perfect scenario for direct bury. Although you probably just did this as a demonstration?

      @everydaysolar  3 місяці тому +2

      Yeah, this one was a bit more for demonstration for those times where the grid is not close or convenient. 👍

      PVC conduit isn't that expensive...🤔
