That's something I could do every day all day is take down some brush. When we had our 10 acres all I had was an old Ford jubilee and a brush hog. Had the time of my life clearing our way in. I started to do it for a living and my tractor went down on me and that was that. I haven't been able to get another piece of equipment and things just haven't been real bright for a while. But I do miss it. One of these days I'll be able to get back to it. Looks like a good purchase, I'm sure you will turn it into an amazing place. Congratulations.
@@cathiwim broke down. The only time I'd say I got hurt was either thorns or the time I mowed over an underground hornet nest. Talk about a time to bail and run lol. I play it as safe as I can when using any equipment. Even more so if I don't own it. Thanks for asking, sorry I didn't clarify.
Congratulations on the property. Like my grandfather used to say “if you want something nice, you’ve gotta work hard for it.” I think you and your friends/crew are the epitome of that statement. Your videos prove it. Thanks for sharing!!
Great job MBTS and the brush cutter. The little green machine was tough too. Can’t wait to see the finished product. Soon it will be called DP Indiana not Derby Indiana. Thanks again!!!!!!!
"We're going round the skidsteer not over it, seems like a wiser move" ..... ten minutes after doing the lucky 50/50 with the semi on to the road!! Priceless... You guys crease me up!!
What you got your self into was buying overgrown land cheap...so later you can sell it for very high dollars. In the interim you can have someone farm the land. That's a great plan to make yourself and your family richer. You are buying land for pennies that you will later sell for dollare. Great job...its the American way!.
Now I see the connection between this and the Captain Kleeman World Headquarters😁. Great Vidja and good to see two friends working together for one purpose, no matter how daunting it may seem. Take care, best wishes and may this year be filled with abundant blessings for you, your family, Arron and his family. John here, from the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee.
Man, I could listen to that Mack run all day. She sounds sweet! I was watching you go along behind the barn and was hoping you didn't find an old engine block or such. You have some industrial strength briars there friend. Have fun and be safe! Cheers Terry
That brush would probably make a 15 foot batwing mower beg for mercy, we’ve been doing a rehab area similar to this, the random junk in the brush has made it a challenge, great work!
we got a DR mower with the government checks issued at the beginning of covid, since we had just purchased an overgrown property that had sat for over 20 years. that sucker is tough, mowing down 6ft briar bushes and small trees.. the corner owner had pitched broken things out the door, so i hit sink faucets and tons of other debris. we final got it all cleaned up, and hauled 3 loads of scrap metal to the recycle yard.
As a lurker here on this channel I feel the excitement and am so looking forward to this project. Love the sasquatch Aaron Tee, got to get me one! OH boy this is great.....
The view of the loader climbing on the trailer reminded me of rail head operations in Germany where we would load our M109A3s on narrow rail cars. Always careful as the tracks overhung the rail beds!
Very smart purchase, Mike. My favorite series of videos. Taking a chunk of coal and presto, a diamond. Good black dirt for farm ground, more cash rent from Farmer Chris. More storage, income, many videos, all pluses. I love seeing something bad turned into something amazing. You do that every video, but this will be the culmination of all those things. The intangibles, youtube videos help pay for it AND the value of the land doubles after you clear it and clean it. I suggested this farm situation purchase a year ago, glad you were listening. I have a feeling there will be another one in the future. In 20 years, you will be super happy that you bought every farm, assets on the balance sheet and retirement income. Great job Mike.
Really not a bad purchase at all. Just a little tip. When using a brush hog on the front of that CTL in overgrown weeds like that it always helps out tremendously to take the first path with the brush hog tilted up a couple feet off the ground. Then go back for your final pass. But that is a lot of work. And again great investment on the net worth of Dirt Perfect. Farm work/dirt work/mowing just kinda centers me. I love it. Great video nice camera angles and the sound of the jake brake is always a nice touch lol😊
Bright back great memories Thanks, I spent 30 years of my life on most all types of heavy equipment. Loved every minute of it, especially the excavator and finish Dozier. If I was able I'd be right there with y'all.
Happy new year guys! This looks like your in need of some good farm equipment. A 100+ hp tractor and a bathing cutter can make fast work of all that overgrown pasture. Then a good offset disc and a drag harrow make pretty work to bring back the new ground. Curious to know what's in plans to plant or intent of using the farm for?? Looking forward to seeing what transpires. Good luck!!
Here's one for the team. I'm going to bite on the comment generator! You never mentioned it, but I know you contacted the "Call before You Dig" folks! Up here most of the utilities are just inches from the edge up the road, but I have a phone line underground that's 30 ft from the edge of the road in one section, along a farm field. A neighbor asked me to bury a horse for them, with the CASE 480 backhoe. I said, "Yes, but not until I mark the spot and call the locators. "There's nothing here! Go ahead and dig." "Nope, not until they come and check." Well, there was a 2 inch medium pressure gas line right where the wanted me to bury the horse! So, I never dig until I call. Great Video and Congrats on the new farm and the much needed rood space! Thanks, Mike & Aaron! Lee
Lol😊 I have 1.6 acres and a barn in the very back that someone ran power underground to. I've never been able to trace it and I know where it is. I decided to dig a hole to plant an apple tree with my backhoe and of course, with all the area the line could have been, it was under that spot. Broke the line and had to do a repair to withstand underground direct burial. I add a plastic utility type box to access it in the future if needed. Always good to know what's running underground.

We didn't have Hyundai skid steers in my time Mike but I would like to get behind the controls of one. That smaller machine seems to handle the brush-hog nicely without any trouble and the drone footage gave us the view of how nice your property is. Good video guys. 👌
Cutting briars that tall with a little JD and a 4 or 5 foot shredder. Wow, bet after that first pass without the welding jacket you looked like you'd spent a few hours sorting bob-cats! Besides random T-posts, I usually find where someone took down 1000 feet or so of barbed wire, rolled it up, and left it on the ground, (they don't worry, the shredder will find it.) Thanks for the video!
God bless you, dirt, perfect you and your sidekick. One day, I'll be buying property as big as you buy it, and owning equipment 22:12 is quite beautiful as yours
just found your channel and love it ,we had a life style farm of 3 acres ,we loved it it was all on to keep everything on top of it all,we built a small pig pen for our 3 pigs,we had a small hen house for our 16 hens, and we let our 8 sheep run free range with our 2 calves ,in the winter we would feed the stock hay and grain ,i also put flower gardens around the house i planted roses fruit trees/with a number of vegetable gardens/pumpkin patch--and it all grew well,,the last thing i did to our property was to build a large bird aviary facing the kitchen my birds would sing all day it was lovely to listen to them i had canarys and finchs i had a total of 40 birds i am in new zealand, good luck with your adventures
I bet that slip clutch was begging for mercy by the time you were done.😀 Mowed through some stuff like that before with an old Farmall and pull behind brush cutter.
Nice job Mike and mbts. Looks like a nice piece of property.
I think you really had a lot of fun, It sure looked like it.
just found your channel and love it ,we had a life style farm of 3 acres ,we loved it it was all on to keep everything on top of it all,we built a small pig pen for our 3 pigs,we had a small hen house for our 16 hens, and we let our 8 sheep run free range with our 2 calves ,in the winter we would feed the stock hay and grain ,i also put flower gardens around the house i planted roses fruit trees/with a number of vegetable gardens/pumpkin patch--and it all grew well,,the last thing i did to our property was to build a large bird aviary facing the kitchen my birds would sing all day it was lovely to listen to them i had canarys and finchs i had a total of 40 birds i am in new zealand, good luck with your adventures

I bet that slip clutch was begging for mercy by the time you were done.😀
Mowed through some stuff like that before with an old Farmall and pull behind brush cutter. At least it was a taller to get out of the some of the briars, PTO was a bit dangerous tho. Lookin' good, so far & look forward to seeing the progress.
I LOVE hearing the downshift of a semi! Sweet!!!!
