The comment at 10.28. Not quite true. My mother didn’t know or care where we all were. Just being out of the house and out of her way was sufficient. The rest was exactly true for me at least. Did all of that. I was a girl guide though so made the fire, cooked a dough paste with jam in the middle on a stick and then ensured the fire was properly extinguished before we rode back over a ford at the reservoir on our bikes to ensure we got home before dark and had our dinner and was then forced to eat it all at the risk of sitting there for hours if we didn’t like it, then had to wash up, dry and put away the dishes afterwards, clean the house up from the 10 minutes were were at home (dusting, ironing, vacuuming, etc). Life was absolutely wonderful back in the 70’s - not.
Proper Banana sami mashed with a touch of sugar, quick banana sami, sliced onto bread sprinkle sugar over the top, exotic sami slice apple onto bread and sprinkle sugar, YUM!!!
5:18 Oh god, don't start that sh*t over here! It's bad enough when Yanks do it. The word there is THAN not THEN. 6:57. No word of a lie, I was just tucking into chips done in my deep fat fryer!
It's not a proper banana sandwich unless you mash the banana with a fork
I love banana sandwiches. I’ve never mashed the bananas with a fork but I do coat the bananas with a generous spoonful of sugar.
I like mashed banana on toast 😋
100% agree! Mashed, not sliced.
One slice of white bread, slathered with Miracle Whip, wrapped around a whole banana like a hot dog. GAWD! My childhood was hell.
@@scott931Miracle what?
Banana made with toasted bread is the way to go.
Reading your comment while watching my wife eat a mashed banana on toast.
@@daviddogsbody another good one is eating a banana with tayto cheese and onion crisps. Don’t why but it just works.
2:57 This knows no borders. You could be describing a rather notorious neighbourhood very close to where I live in Canada. Mint, indeed. 🤣🤣

Ice pops, their called ice pops
No question. There is only one name for them, and that is ice pops. I've never heard anyone (in Britain) ever call them anything else.
@@originalcinner some say ice poles. But it’s definitely ice pop
Most people north of the border calls them ice poles, down south probably called sharia popsicles.
