Loved guys AND gal!! Thanks for the invite and the royal treatment...it was as if we had our personal river guide service! Really enjoyed the trip and more so meeting you guys!! Great video!
It was a beautiful river and quite the adventure. I'm thankful for the invite. Brian you and your crew were first class and the Hospitality and knowledge of the river was exceptional. Look forward to another paddle trip and adventure. See you on the river. Thanks again!
Just in time with my evening coffee. I have already seen two other versions of this trip and i never get tried of it. So far this is my fav trip of the year. It has everything you want in a kayak camping adventure. Awesome job guys!
Some of my most favorite memories growing up were the camping trips my family did with several other families on the Current River. We did them for several years. I need to take my family back there sometime. Great video
We’re glad you enjoyed it! Besides having personal connections to that river, as well, we love that river. That is why we have visited it many times, and made multiple videos for it!
Great videos. Whenever I need to explain to someone in Chicago what a float trip is I show them these videos, people don't know about those rivers out here! I grew up around there, some of the most beautiful areas in the Midwest!
Saw you on river kings video, figure I would subscribe to your channel and check out your adventures, great videos you have, it’s so awesome you got to do an adventure with river king they seem awesome and I love their stuff, also I just wanted to say hi, we are doing a trip to The Current River this weekend, you guys videos was what brought us to make the trip and adventure, so thank you…
@@ava-brendadillard7131 i had some health issues and now im going to try and get out with some family and go to river in wv. where family is from. love it there. had some of my best trips there.
Thanks for sharing my dad use to have a large ranch by the Current River, for many years near Montauk State Park. Lots of good fun memories of floating & fishing on the old Current River & riding dirt bikes along the back woods of Dent County.
Thank you for watching! Small world. We have 150 acres of land in the family off K hwy, but a stones throw from the river. I used to ride Yamaha 150s all over the county as well as a kid. Awesome country out there!
If my memory serves me right the house that you guys have was a old rock style type of stone home. My dad knew everyone down from those parts I’m sure you would know who he was.
I’m going down the Jacks Fork in August for my first kayaking trip and I am stoked to say the least. How are the water levels that time of year? And what great music in your videos! And if all goes well I’ll be making a return trip to go down the Current River next year!
In our experience, spring and early summer are best for water levels. We are certain you’re going to have an awesome time!!! Both of those rivers are like going home for us. Definitely our favorites!!
Y'all are brave for camping under just a piece of tarp. I love floating but I don't know if I'm cut out for overnight floating I'm good with 14 miles or less. So pretty though I love your videos
You'd be surprised at how awesome hammock camping can be! We used to primarily tent camp, but the benefits of being off the ground are wonderful. There is a kind of satisfaction and peace associated with sleeping in the wild and braving the elements. If you havnt already, you should try an overnight at a location you are familiar with. You may find that you enjoy it! Thank you for commenting!
Super random question. Any chance you or any of your buddies have a rough grid for the spot you set up camp? I'm taking this float for the first time with a few friends. I've read mixed reviews on finding areas that are hammock friendly along the float. Thank you!
Great question! In the winter months, places to hang are plentiful. Spring and Summer, it's a bit difficult. When we hammock, we have camped at Pultite Spring, up on the bank right of the creek outflow, Medlock Spring, Hurricane Creek and Indian Creek. In the summer months, we generally pack both tent and hammock.
I wonder if there are obvious fractures in the rocks and course changes from the great New Madrid earthquakes of 1811 and 1812 in either the Current or the Jacks Fork. Since both the Eleven Point River and the St Francis River were closer to the epicenter, I would expect more land scarring there.
It sounds like you could educate us more on that than we would know. That is not our area of expertise, by far. Always feel free to share any info about these areas that you wish. We love to learn more, and many viewers like more information, as well!
It looks like going up stream might be a little more difficult than some rivers I have gone up stream on but the fishing might be worth the bunny hopping I normally do
The majority of the river is not much of a challenge and friendly to most, as it relates to rapids. The trout fishing near Baptist Camp is incredible, and remains so down most of the river towards Round Spring. There are some restrictions from Baptist Camp to Cedar Grove however.
Thank you! The pole was acquired directly from their website some time ago. I cannot remember the specific model, but really any pole setup from them will suffice. You just need to decide the length. Most are compatible with a one-inch ball mount, also obtained through Ram.
We usually use Two Rivers Canoe Rental. They are an excellent outfitter. I believe, at the time, the cost was roughly 45.00 per boat. That was almost a year ago. Not sure what they are charging now, with fuel costs. I've included thier link below. 2riverscanoe.com/
@@flushot6513 Pete made a good observation about the Tsunami. It does have a very predominant keel and in a cross current, can present some problems. I have a Stratos. Love it. Responsive, comfortable and is designed for different conditions, to include rough water. I'll have to say though, the Yukon is phenomenal. Just hard to find one.

I beleive it was around March 10th-13th 2021.
Paddled the Jacks Fork in Oct 16' Hope to get a livery for the Current this Sept of 22'. What's the cost of livering our yaks in 22'?
