I agree and apologize. I tried narrating whilst playing the game, and must’ve set something wrong. I now only do post-narration in my GarageBand, should be better.
Really Great content, glad that i found you. You helped me for my one faith run and i did the conquest till ca. 1750, rest was converting stuff. Never thought i could did it that early. Around 1710 i thought i would not do it ;) War against the world is really great. I will use Gotland pirates for the achievment "freest man in the world". Wich mod is for your map? It looks great.
really enjoying this style of eu4 content, shame about audio for this one but seems like you have learnt now, maybe a re-record later down the line but this is great, i did burst out laughing at 42:00 that's a great 'rest of the fucking owl' moment right there
Meanwhile I failed my objective of creating the best Germany with Gotland. If you do Gotland => hanseatic league => Prussia, you can get +10 permanent discipline from missions
I like your content! What's the reason that you land with the troups bevor starting war and not let them stay on your boats and land after starting the war?
You make some interesting stuff. Very good content. I never used no Cb byzantium, i understand the merit for it. But then again i never did WC where i felt it was needed. I usually just try and peacelock everything and roll constant wars as soon as possible. By the time i need to deal with the ottomans they are never strong enough to resist or they are one of my first targets. Ill just roll no cb wars on them burn points and rely on millions upon millions of troops and mercs to murder the shit out of any potential rebellions. In my last WC i had a million men just chasing rebels at the same time as i was rolling 5 diffrent wars. I will admit this often becomes quite taxing as in it might take an entire weekend to just inch forward. Maybe i should try a diffrent approach and do more political stuff like you do.
Thank you! I agree, and frequently used your strategy too in my WCs (eg as Ryukyu or Qing, or even Aztecs). It’s just when starting in Europe, I find it difficult to resist a no-CB on Byzantium haha.
Hi - yes, I immediately allied Austria and Poland, I think. That held them off. Then I attacked them when they were engaged elsewhere and weakened them. After that, they weren’t a threat anymore.
Hi! I didn’t chose the pirate way in my government reforms, so I was able to ally anyone I wanted. I took that reform much later, when I no longer needed allies.
Great content! Doing it as Gotland like this is quite different. I only never like no CB on Byz because it feels like cheating (to me, even more because it neuters the Ottos). Would you have been able to do it without no CBs?
Thanks for your support :) As for the Ottos, yes -- having done world conquests as Burgundy, Nevers, Ryukyu, Saluzzo and others who can't open with a no-CB on Byz -- I'm sure the no-CB opening is not a must. I'm just honestly burned out fighting the green blob in every game. If you let them grow, it usually takes 5-7 all-out wars to tackle them. So whenever I can, I prefer to nip them in the bud!
@@StrategySphere I understand. I did one WC (Ryukyu as a daimyo vassal swarm) and it really gets quite boring after you snowball enough. I just enjoy seeing you reacting to dynamically changing circumstances way more (like you did several times in this campaign which I enjoyed a lot) than the planned inititial set up part. In the end you are of course not to blame for taking advantage of a game feature. For this specific one perhaps PDX should punish no CB wars even more, or make artrician hell far from your heart land and without supply lines (which I know are not a thing in EU4). In the end perhaps some randomization at the start is the best solution. I mean eg force he first say 5 years to happen in observer mode before the player gets the keys to the castle. I guess all of the above is also why I always enjoy series where people automatically switch countries every x years and chaotic succession series so much: you have to deal with the situation given to you.
@@wachtwoord5796 thanks for the perspective, and it makes sense to me. What I love is the changing, unpredictable environment of the game. Totally agree with you here! EDIT: in fact, chaotic-succession type of play was how I started in EU2 (at that time) all the way back in 2002 or so. I used to log in to different countries every 50 years and play from that point. Did an AAR on this, too :)
@@StrategySphere Ah cool a veteran of the series then 👍. I only discovered EU4 in 2016 or 2017 but played many hours since. I've enjoyed some CK3, Vicy 2 and 3 and Emperator Rome since then too. If you plan to do another succession game I'm definitely watching. For now I haven't even watched the handful of videos currently on you channel yet but I definitely plan to as I enjoyed the first 2. Good luck with starting up the new channel!
Just some feedback as someone that streams and junk, your mic clips a looooooooot in places like you're shouting point-blank into it, so you might want to look at your mic settings and/or change it's position or maybe just keep an eye on your levels when you're recording ^^
@@StrategySphere You're welcome! Honestly simple things are like where your mic is positioned and how close to it you are when speaking, just check OBS or whatever you're recording and make sure when speaking you're not too in the red :) Keep it up though, it is definitely a process!
It’s a valid strategy for sure - in my case, one of the core missions moves my capital to Cuba, so it just makes sense to “stay in character” and own the new world directly.
Really wanted to watch this vid, but the mic going all crazy at the 4 minute mark is a bit to much. Really like your newer vids tho, so please keep it up
Darth Vader himself is narrating this piratical adventure.
Haha sorry for the voiceover quality :)
Everything is great except sound!
I agree and apologize. I tried narrating whilst playing the game, and must’ve set something wrong.

Well done! Very well edited and explained too!
Thanks so much!
Great content brother keep it up
Better narrative and skills then some popular eu4 UA-camrs
Thank you, Jay!
Hope this chanel growth, great job!
Thank you!!!

Ahh yes, I often get that early-1700 feeling of not being sure if I’m on track :)
The mod is “theatrum orbis terrarum” from the Steam workshop.
You absolute madman.
Haha thanks :)

Haha thanks! And sorry about the audio, I’ve learned my lessons on this :)
this is really a great channel. i am now on my second video.
Thank you so much, I appreciate!
Meanwhile I failed my objective of creating the best Germany with Gotland.
If you do Gotland => hanseatic league => Prussia, you can get +10 permanent discipline from missions
Yep, Gotland to Germany is super strong. I did it once but soon lost interest as the game became so easy! :)
Great audio😂Love the vids
Haha sorry for the audio issues! Was my first and only time trying OBS on Windows 😭😂
I like your content!
What's the reason that you land with the troups bevor starting war and not let them stay on your boats and land after starting the war?
Thanks! I simply didn’t have enough transport boats in the beginning, so had to micro-manage a bit.
I m thinking of using this guide not for wc but for that no slaves achievement
This makes sense - I got that achievement while making it.
what are the visual mods you use there? Looks amazing!
Hey, it's "theatrum orbis terrarum" -- I find it pleasing to look at :)
@@StrategySphere Yes! Thank you! Me too!
Ottoblob can actually do the job for you if you time it right (10:46)
Yep, they could also work I think.
"Sheep cost reductions" I wasn't aware this was actually an Aq Qoyunlu/Shetland video! :P
Ah yep, my accent… I’ve started adding subtitles in the more recent videos :)
@@StrategySphere Don't worry man, the subtitles are great for those of us, like me, who have problems hearing and it's perfectly understandable

Very creative! No CB Byz (classic)
Thanks :) Yep, it has become my favorite opening for many situations.
Every attempt I make, the Ottomans try to take constantinople within 5 years of me having it. Did you do something to keep them off your back?
Hi - yes, I immediately allied Austria and Poland, I think. That held them off. Then I attacked them when they were engaged elsewhere and weakened them. After that, they weren’t a threat anymore.
How do you ally others. For me it says only hoisted countries
Hi! I didn’t chose the pirate way in my government reforms, so I was able to ally anyone I wanted.

Why not conquer the colonial overlords to inherit their subjects? Wouldn't that be more efficient?

Very nice video, but deleting boats?.. I just sell the ones I don’t need to the AI
Yep, a good idea but I had way too many to micro this. AI doesn’t buy a lot…
