Nice job man, when you attack naples make sure the war target is Napoli because the target is half cost in peace deal; it’s possible annex naples in 1 war :)
18:35 The reason you get money is because IRL when the reformation happened, the rulers who became heretics seized all the properties and ownings of the clergy inside their lands.
In Sweden when our king converted to protestantism he was greatly influenced by the fact that seizing church property was a great way of boosting the economy that was in shambles after the independence war against denmark lol
Super enjoyable video. It had a comfy vibe like listening to a Burgundian man in a French cafe ramble on about how tag switching will conquer the world
For the PU with Castile you would not keep the Union, instead the country who gets the Inheritance would get that Union. Ex: If France gets you in the inheritance they will get Castile too
@@StrategySphereI have read eu4wiki for inheritance event, nations PU or vassalized will be integrated as long as either they are in HRE or in French zone, so as the special nation Flanders will also be integrated. In this case Castile will not be integrated, unless u find a way to add his capital HRE, which is really complicated..😮
Oh I haven't though about the spanish government. I just went with Germany for their 5% adm. Efficency before forming Lotharingia. Good idea. When you tag switch from England > Saxony > Prussia you get the Prussian Monarchy, which gets rid of the English monarchy. The 50% gov cap reduction is a huge issue but unlike the english government, you can swap out of it any time you want to any other form of government you like. This means you can form Germany for their 5% adm. Efficiency instead of the council government reform. The great avdvantage of this is that you could go for getting Spain as a PU instead, not having to worry much about the new world innitally. The Angevine missions also count Vassals and Personal unions, not just direct provinces. It's relatively easy to get a PU, just stay married and whenever they have no heir, request them to put 1 of yours in charge for 90 favors. The next time they are without an heir you can immediately sweep in to get a PU. Unfortunately, it can happen that Spain ends up rivaling you midway through, which is beyond annoying. Especially since Spain, is a cockroach. That thing just keeps colonizing and conquering random provinces in the middle of nowhere, outside your colonial range, making them very annoying to kill, which is it's usually advised to just kill Spain as fast as possible, ideally while they are still Castille.

Great video from the Suisse voisine... As a side note, if you manage to get a PU as Burgundy outside of the France region (I got a lucky Bohemia PU once, due to their Hussite events that mess up their dynasty), you only keep it if you go for the Marie option in the inheritance. Otherwise, the personal union will be given to France similarly to how Castile PUs Navarra and sometimes Naples alongside Aragon in the Iberian wedding
12:47, you don't. You made the right call. There is a common strategy where you immediately PU Bohemia as burgundy, and I did that, and then lost it during the inheritance because I dismantled the HRE (you integrate subjects with capitals in the France or low countries region, and in the HRE)
When the Burgundian Inheritance fires, you inherit all your subjects within the French region and within the Holy Roman Empire. So if you can manage to revoke the privilegia before that, which should be possible by vassalizing three electors and then excessively religion-switching between Catholic and Orthodox (would require a No-CB war on Byzantium early on to get those orthodox provinces you need) and constant leaving and rejoining the Empire, then you could be even more of a blob after the inheritance. Also, if you can time Charles' death while you are in a war with France with enough warscore to vassalize France, you can wait for the Inheritance to fire, and before you click on the French option, peace out France with the vassalization option. That way, when you then decide to become France's subject, you will immediately integrate Fracne along with your other subjects and thus save yourself the unnecessary independence war (and the risk of a game over by France simply clicking the "Duchess of Burgundy" Mission in their mission tree.
@@StrategySphere no worries! If you do try it and manage to revoke the privilegia in time, remember to quickly lose two random wars on purpose two undo the last to imperial reforms before the inheritance fires, because it won't fire if Charles' heir would be elected HRE Emperor, so you need to get rid of Erbkaisertum and ensure that you do not have an eligible heir who could be elected Emperor.
12:37 For the way the event works, I think you could've inherit all of Castille if you would've chosen France during the Inheritance event, although I'm not sure. Edit: Forget it, I already tested it and France keeps the PU over Castille.
Wanted to do a similar strategy, but I'll probably fail. Being slightly perfectionist, I decided to conquer more land to do more tag switches (from England, Prussia, Spain, Sardinia, Two sicilies add Austria, Croatia, Tuscany, Netherlands, Scotand, Poland, Switzerland, Ireland, hansa at least). In order to achieve this, the mana would not be an issue as the mission trees give way enough. However I really wanted to get more land to be able to click more missions, which bring me to ~1750 with all of Europe Burgundian. Fairly certain I can rush and finish WC but will fail with the One faith and one culture I planned. All of it was delayed as I didn't have access to the OP modifiers of the tag switches for about 30 years. Also I forgot to delete spain early and it escaped as a few islands, might go as France or Scandinavia instead. Nevetheless a fun run, thanks for the idea!

Hey at 7:04 you went back in time from 27th September 1450 to 13th September 1450 and England mysteriously got their provinces in Normandy back. Did you reload a previous save where England and France peaced out differently? It looks really weird how within the same war France got almost all of their Normandy cores back while a couple of minutes later England holds the lands again.
Yep, I took a break and forgot which save file I was playing from! 🫣 Apologies about this. The save I continued to play with is the right one. So for a few minutes, I have the wrong save file on this video…
I just had a run with Bohemia -> Croatia -> Prussia -> Great Moravia -> Germany and I found something interesting. I kept my mission tree forming croatia and the croatian one got added to it. I happened again when forming Prussia. It got a little bit weird forming Germany, some missions were still visible. Also I could revoke the prussian government 1 reform without switching religion or anything. I kept the Moravian Ideas (+15 max Effect of Absolutism) and thought you might be interested in that. Don't know how the mission tree "evolves" when forming Sardinia-Piedmont or other countries.
I think the Low Countries get annexed because they’re part of the HRE. That’s how some folks here have explained it to me. So the Spanish PU would go to France…
you will not get castile if you get them before the burgundian inheritance, as the event only makes you inherit all subjects that are in the hre, has a french culture group, capital is in the french region, or is dutch or flemish, meaning that france will get the personal union
Could you recommend some countries that are good for a one faith, one culture run? I've only done a standard austria wc before, and I want to try one culture, but don't know which nations are best for that. Is tag switching even a valid option or rather just sticking to a starting country or formables which don't require you to change your primary culture the way to go? Sorry that this comment isn't really related to the video, but you seem far more experienced than I am, and I thought I'd ask.😅 Love your videos.
Byzantium has good modifiers for trying that if you form Kongo. You can see how in his byzantine WC he almost got one faith and he didn't even tried, and the roman empire bonuses should make you able to culture convert really fast.
Hi! Byzantium is definitely a great choice. I personally did One Culture with the Teutons because they can form the Holy Horde and raze provinces - giving you tons of mana and making conversions cheaper (I have a video on this). I’ve never done a non-Horde One Culture, but Russia has a mission which reduces culture conversion time by 20%. Could be an interesting choice, especially if it can synergise with the Roman Empire government (conversion discount and 10% shorter time).
My first WC was with Castile start and tag switch for admin efficiency and war cost reduce, like this but i stay Catholic, is easier than classic Mughals, Oirats or Ottomans.
Yep, I guess I’ll need to do this challenge. Gotta study the dynamics of such campaigns… I did One Culture run as Teutons a while ago, it’s in my videos (but that was a Horde).
its also one of my favorite countries. i think the avignion situation is based on provance's relationship with the Pope, not yours so you are locked out. i didnt realize you have a full year for independence war, from my memory france almost immediately releases them in the most enraging moment of any campaign so i truy to DOW the day of the inheritance. the money i think is to reflect that Protestants seized crown church lands, which were usually, rich in their lands. I think in EU(2?) it would be more explicit why you get all that money with an event 'seize church lands'
Great video ! Is there any chance you still have the save file ? I would like to see the timelapse (specially how did you conquer the world !) Thanks !

Finishing up my first ever world conquest now as the Ottomans after over 1600 hours of playtime 1774 now with about 4k dev left to conquer, not gonna lie the 15-20 hours I've spent since 1700 might be the most unenjoyable time I've ever had in this game 😂 edit: just finished it in 1796 😁
I thought France could just click a button to inherit Burgundy instantly if you chose them. Is there a reason they didn't? Like a requirement that they can't fulfill?
If I recall correctly, it’s a bit down their mission tree, so there must be some requirements. But it’s all the more reason to attack them immediately after falling under their PU!
So the first step is actually start play as france , then do a royal marriage with burgundy , do your conquest shit with espionage idea , and w8 for burgundy inheritance. When inheritance drop , and you have burgundy as subject , go crazy and conquest even more, like blinded berserk , but make sure you didn`t give land to burgundy , or making vassals (if you give burgundy too much , you never have funny horsy event) .never stop. But when funny horsy event that annex burgundy drops , make sure u didn`t press that funny mission as france , that annex burgundy , if they are your subject. Then RELEASE burgundy , and give them all land you have except your capital (move your capital to 1 1 1 province if you can, before that) , and then annex burgundy with funny mission button again. AND THEN RELEASE THE CRAKEN AND PLAY AS SUBJECT OF PURE AND INNOCENT COUNTRY , WHO TAKE OVER ALL LAND THAT FRANCE CONQUER WITH 0 AE. Step whatever didn`t count lol -> enjoy being a great strategist world ever seen (Napoleon would disagree but who cares about that funny cake lol)
Yep, for about 90 seconds I had the wrong save file there! I played out a few opening scenarios to chose the most interesting one and got confused in my own video drafts :) Apologies!

Yep, could be a very good thing - sort of “build in allies.”
Sorry that this comment isn't really related to the video, but you seem far more experienced than I am, and I thought I'd ask.😅
Love your videos.
Hi! Yep, I agree - a Castile start is both fun and powerful!
great tag switch method
Thanks, we won’t be able to do this in EU5 sadly…
I do not agree, tag switch should not even be allowed in Ironman
@@RsgNoise well, it’s part of the game, and for me it’s fun :)
I would love to see an one culture video..❤
Yep, I guess I’ll need to do this challenge. Gotta study the dynamics of such campaigns…
I did One Culture run as Teutons a while ago, it’s in my videos (but that was a Horde).
I asked you like some long time ago, would you do a price of egypt run ?
Yep, it’s in my (very long) queue.
Nice job
Thank you :)
its also one of my favorite countries. i think the avignion situation is based on provance's relationship with the Pope, not yours so you are locked out. i didnt realize you have a full year for independence war, from my memory france almost immediately releases them in the most enraging moment of any campaign so i truy to DOW the day of the inheritance.
the money i think is to reflect that Protestants seized crown church lands, which were usually, rich in their lands. I think in EU(2?) it would be more explicit why you get all that money with an event 'seize church lands'
Yep, I believe France responds to Austria's demands, which (I may be wrong) take about a year. Maybe sooner than that. And makes sense on the money!
Nice vid :)
Merci!
Great video ! Is there any chance you still have the save file ? I would like to see the timelapse (specially how did you conquer the world !) Thanks !
Hi, thank you - and yes, I have it:

Please let me know if the link worked for you?
@@StrategySphere Hi, thanks you ! No, it requires authorization
So you can bypass all "end game tag" switches with having the pop up event of said other nation change?
I'm entertaining the idea on returning to EU4 but i didn't see a video you on 1.37 and as a superstitious person i call it a sign to i shouldn't return EU4 until you update.
Btw i don't mind anything else but Hisn Kayfa would be cool. :v
I played as Reformed only once and that was as Holland/Netherlands.
It was ok, had its uses as Netherlands but in most other scenarios Protestant is superior
Yep, the Protestants are much more versatile, although I could argue the individual bonuses of Reformed are stronger.
where did you get the thumbnail from ?
I made it with Midjourney and my creative brilliance :)
@@StrategySphere A woman to go full "deus vult" for.
Looooove me some Huguenot reformed
Thanks, it felt right for Burgundy!
what happens if you vassalize France and then burgundy inheritance drops and you choose France?
I would imagine the decision menu will take precedence and you’d still become France’s personal union. Very interesting question!
"I'm improving relations with a lot of minors around me."
Um, sir??? 🤨🤨
One-province minors, of course! The nations….
Finishing up my first ever world conquest now as the Ottomans after over 1600 hours of playtime
1774 now with about 4k dev left to conquer, not gonna lie the 15-20 hours I've spent since 1700 might be the most unenjoyable time I've ever had in this game 😂
edit: just finished it in 1796 😁
Congrats! That’s a nice date, ahead of 1800s :)
@@StrategySphere thanks! Wasn’t sure if I was gonna make it in time but turns out I was worried for no reason
I am amazed
Thank you 🙏
Tags changing... i understood nothing :) but good video
Hahaha apologies! In brief, I just hunted a few missions across several countries to max out my admin efficiency :)
0:43 Ugh, pass. Calvinists, nothing but trouble.
Haha sorry, it’s just a game.
burgundy in tno vs eu4
Can we get an Ireland OPM run?!
Yep, I’ve played as Desmond once and loved it. It was hard though. Not sure if I recorded that campaign or would need to play anew, let me see!
Ahaha the pure and innocent Burgundy strategy! Love it!
Why does France lose their Territory back to England? 😅
Yep, for about 90 seconds I had the wrong save file there! I played out a few opening scenarios to chose the most interesting one and got confused in my own video drafts :) Apologies!
@@StrategySphere well, this is a nice insight in the amount of work needed. Thanks for all the effort ❤️
You can prevent countries to support independance by having a truce
Yep, indeed. Can’t have truce with all Europe in the 1450s though :)
Disgusting hahahaha, thank you for sharing. Edited: No shaving in this comment xD
lol, I had enough of bearded dudes :)
I think other nations can’t support independence of your subjects if your at war, so just always be at war
Unfortunately, that has changed recently as far as I know.
@@StrategySphere well that is a shame

No you lose the PU
Thanks, then it's good I didn't waste my time fighting them...
Wouldn't france get the Personal union when you fall under their union? And wouldn't you get the union back when you fully annex France?
I believe France will get your union, but it will break free when you militarily annex France (like Lorraine went free when I vassalized Provence).
Fuck, only 30 min😢
Haha tried to be efficient! :)
What's with the subtitles? You're perfectly intelligible and I doubt that you have an extraordinary share of deaf viewers.
Many thanks! When I was starting out, several folks said they didn’t understand my accent, so I’ve started adding them :) apparently, some folks also watch without sound.
