Disney has really lowered the bar on Superhero movies. Which is ironic, as they are the ones that raised it in the first place (with the first "Iron Man" movie, and everything that came afterward, for about ten years).
@akitakingzero7001 Lmao yeah but sadly she never had the chance for that to happen because everyone was afraid of her and saw her as a threat when vision saw her for who she was and accepted her lmao
wanda is in no way selfish, she lost everyone and everything. she just wanted her kids back. also, the darkhold kinda alters ur mind. that’s why doctor strange said “wanda has the darkhold and the darkhold has her”. in the end she finally realized what it was doing to her.
I liked Multiverse of Madness. The horror sequences were great and Elizabeth Olsen killed it as Scarlet Witch. Wanda going apeshit on the Illuminati is probably one of the best MCU moments ever. She took on the most powerful heroes all at once and she didn't even break a sweat.
I see a lot of folks remark about how Illuminati Captain Marvel was killed. Most of them pointing out that a statue wouldn't be able to crush her but not noticing Wanda draining her power, visualised by her mask being crumbled towards Wanda with a flourish of red energy, during their final clash.
Fans blame for Wanda for how she acted because they compared her lost to someone like Thor, Loki, Steve etc. But i think her story is one of the most tragic in MCU, she never had a normal childhood, she grew up in a war and lost her parents when she was 10,she and her brother got experimented by Hydra their whole life, when she choose the Avengers she lost her brother because of it(the only person who knew her and loved her), she found Vision and she lost the only person she had too, she had to killed him herself and that's the worst thing that can happen to someone because sacrificing ourselves is easy than had to sacrifice someone we loves, she had to killed him only to see him killed again, she made a world where she was happy and got everything she wanted but that only cost her children, unlike other character who lost everything Wanda has nothing left, other may lost many people but at the end they always had someone, Thor have his people back and found a home in Earth, Steve had his happy ending, Tony has a happy life and died a hero but Wanda literally lost everything including herself, her and Peter are one of the most tragic character. (I wont mention Loki because Im gonna pretend the Loki timeline aren't canon, cuz i don't like how the story goes😂)
This movie was made my Sam Raimi, and they let him do his horror, campy style, which i really loved. Some people can find some of it to be a bit silly, but I like that it's unique!
Funfact: the scarlet witch can instantly heal, and has OP stamina. But according to the interview. When she possess the 828 wanda, that wanda isnt tbe Scarlet witch and only had humab stamina and cudnt heal. She basically defeated tbe illuminati as Wanda not as scarlet witch
When Wanda touches the scarlet witch in the end, scarlet reads her mind and gets to know that Wanda always loves her children in every universe.. that's when scarlet realises she can't replace herself...❤❤❤
First of all I love this movie and Elisabeth Olsen is just perfection in this movie. Second, she is said to be dead by the MCU staff but tbh I still hope she somehow survived, I mean common even if she really accepted her death I think her powers would go on autopilot like in WandaVision and saved her on the last moment. But who knows.
The movie had a horror style to it because the director of the movie is Sam Raimi. A horror movie specialist, and he is also the director of Tobey Maguire’s spider man movies which honestly I was excited about because a horror genre fits Doctor Strange perfectly considering the fact that he deals with the supernatural side of marvel.
@@GilbyMinaj If there was more consistency and continuity with what happened in Wanda Vision, as well as what Strange had to deal with with the Multiverse in No Way Home, the movie probably would have been amazing. They briefly mention both of them, but then basically forget about it. Not to mention, showing the true power of both Wanda and Strange, arguably two of the only beings who could've defeated Thanos on their own. Also, casting for America Chavez could have been better I think. She was fine, but not fantastic.
Just think - other universe’s Wanda dreams of our Wanda’s life. She understands the pain that she’s been through. They said dreams were ourselves in other multiverses.
I dont know if you got it but as its explained in the movie, everything that happened was caused by the darkhold influence, all the lifes wanda took and everything she did was purely because of the darkhold, many would say "it doenst make sense, why didnt she go for vision or her brother as well?" thats exactly the point of the movie, to show how darkhold can screw with one's mind. We can also see that on strange's alternative version that also got corrupted by the darkhold, just because of christine he started the end of his own universe, not only that but he also killed alternate versions of himself just for the pleasure of doing so. Wanda went and studied the darkhold to learn more about herself and her powers, yet it ended up corrupting her as it does with anything that touches it, even if its part of her she still is not immune to it's effect.
Wanda was controlled by the Darkhold in this movie, so, to me, It wasn't ACTUALLY Wanda doing those things, so much as it was Chthon, the creator of the Darkhold, who did those things THROUGH her. When one sets their eyes upon the confines of the Darkhold, they don't read IT, so much as IT reads THEM. Chthon latches onto a singular idea, or thought, that drives you... One that also benefits him, and controls you through that singular thought. He twists you into a version of yourself that is, unbeknownst to you or anyone else, serving HIM. I theorize that if Wanda had succeeded in taking America's powers, Chthon would have revealed himself, and begun his conquest of the Multiverse.
They said she died, However in the comics she can revive herself and she is a nexus being. So, if they decide to they can easily bring her back. Even in the comics her chaos magic isn't just under her control ( and sometimes not) but it protects her even against her will.
America Chavez being able to traverse the multiverse whilst being a sorcerer is going to be insane, such a valuable asset in the future conflict coming for the mcu 👏🏻
This movie is the perfect example of why phase 4 is my favorite. The MCU has become so much more than what it was before. We are getting different types of projects in different genres. This was a campy Rami horror movie and i love it so much
I'm not surprised that so many reactors had no idea who Reed Richards or the Fantastic Four were. The MCU introduced so many people to the Marvel universe but at a cost of limiting people's knowledge to mostly the Avengers and then later introduced Guardians etc. So this created a whole generation of Marvel fans who had no idea that the X-Men or Fantastic Four were actually apart of Marvel or to them Marvel was only the MCU. Combine that with Fox dropping the ball on the Fantastic Four films, F4 (2005) and F4: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) released to 15 to 13 years ago but I'm more talking about the awful 2015 Reboot that just felt nothing like the F4 and didn't even stand out. I can't blame people introduced into Marvel by the MCU having zero idea who the Fantastic Four were as they've been out of the spotlight for years in live action media. There's also reactors who do know the Fantastic Four from the 2000s films but just had no idea they were Marvel. Same goes with X-Men with how disconnected the Fox X-Men films are too a greater Marvel universe there's people who had zero idea that X-Men were Marvel until Charles rolled up in this film. In a perfect world the F4 and X-Men would've been important to the MCU since the beginning taking part in pretty much all the major films like Civil War, Infinity War etc. We would've saw Logan fighting alongside Cap during WW2, X-Men interacting with The Avengers, Mutants alongside superheros being highlighted as dangerous in Civil War, and everyone coming together to fight Thanos in Infinity War.
This is why i'm looking forward to the possible post Secret Wars reboot. All of your last paragraph would be possible though i'm looking forward to the DP/Thanos/Death triangle among other things.
Damn, you just reminded me that Logan and Cpt America in WWII was a severely missed opportunity... it would've been a GREAT situation to have him as part of the squad with Bucky and basically add to Logan's gruffness later for "losing" both Bucky and Capt. Hell Logan could've been on the trail of a Winter Soldier trying to figure out who that is for decades - eventually coming to Capt about what info he might've had by that point.
This movie fucking RULES . Massive MASSIVE improvement over the first Doctor Strange movie. Yeah, Charlize Theron is playing Clea - eventually Clea Strange, Doctor Strange's wife in the comics. She's the Sorceress Supreme of the Dark Dimension, and eventually becomes the Sorceress Supreme of both Earth AND the Dark Dimension in the comics. She's the niece of Dormammu.
I hate that people don't like this movie. Personally, I love it. So much of the MCU is the same, and despite 2 Dr strange movies, shang chi and Wanda vision, we haven't really dived into the magical side of marvel. It SHOULD be different, and it SHOULD be weird as hell. Just seeing all of Steanges spells in this and his little dual with Thanos in Infinity War is great. I really hope they don't pull back with this direction given the reaction to the movie
Yeah I think it's not perfect but it's one of the better movies, also it probably could've been better if Raimi was allowed to do what he wanted but you know how execs are. He was definitely a perfect pick
I'm with you. This is a film with some issues, but it's still a top-5, solo-lead Marvel film for me. As a horror enthusiast they struck the tone perfect for a mainstream/PG-13 audience and it has some of the most exciting sequences in the MCU.
Small detail When they’re running away after Strange drowned Wanda, America says “did it kill her?” “no just bought us some time” it was the same exact thing they said in Spanish in the very beginning. I imagine she’s been in that same situation many times as she’s ran away to different universes
Loved your reaction 💯. Elizabeth Olsen killed it as The Scarlet Witch. Also you are right we never seen Wanda in action until now, we saw a little in End Game and WandaVision and yet in multiverse in madness that’s not her full potential, can’t wait to see her next projects, a mountain won’t kill her. There’s no body so she’s still alive.

That's the thing about Wanda, she may be a very intense character who is seemingly in perpetual suffering but she doesn't lie about what she sees. And Strange is clearly unhappy with how Christine is not with him, and did clearly break the rules about the Time stone, even if it was for a greater purpose.
1. Wanda was possessed by the Darkhold (end credit of WandaVision), hence why she was “evil” in this film. The Darkhold possesses anyone who uses it 2. She is not dead. The flash of red light was her chaos magic transporting her someplace safe. Marvel wouldn’t get rid of such a beloved character before she could reach her full character arc (which spans decades in the comics btw 60s to now) She will be back, and will continue on for years

People shat on this movie but I actually really enjoyed it. Elizabeth Olsen is a star in every way. She is Wanda. Even in context of what she’s doing in this movie you don’t hate her Because her anger comes from pain and longing.
I think it's kind of offensive to say she is Wanda when mcu Wanda is whitewashed and Elizabeth Olsen has been racist against Romani people since she was cast as Wanda maximoff. Wanda is supposed to be a dark skinned Romani woman (Serbian and jewish too), not a white "sokovian" (they made that up in the mcu so that they could justify their whitewashing) who has a cross on her wall. you might like Elizabeth's acting but saying she *is* Wanda is ignoring the character's background and what it means to the people that she represents.
@@gagemccool i never said they couldn't like the character. i even said they could like elizabeth's acting. i only had a problem with the part where they said elizabeth IS wanda when she's obviously not the right choice for wanda. my problem is with the whitewashing and the racism.
The food vendor was Bruce Campbell from the Evil Dead series, Sam Raimi's first directorial franchise into horror. He also did the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies as well as Doctor Strange 2. At FanX last year, someone did a panel showing a lot of the references shared between this movie and Sam Raimi's Evil Dead movies. He has a style and really brings it in here. Another interesting tidbit that the MCU could bring back is this: In the first Doctor Strange movie, he mentions that he has a photographic memory. So although all of the physical copies of The Darkhold are destroyed, he still knows most of it.
Stephen Strange was born with photographic memory. Once he reads something, he cannot forget it. That means even though the Darkhold is destroyed from each and every universe, there exists a copy of 2 pages of Darkhold that stephen read in his mind.
In the Universe-616 Dr Strange is the one brokenhearted and keeping the broken watch as a memory of the past relationship, in the Universe-838 it is Christine playing that role.
@qwertymonse2293 I’ve seen it a bunch of times. I know what happened to it, but I didn’t process that it currently doesn’t exist? Isn’t that what the sorcerers tried to prevent? In the prime timeline, the stone is just destroyed, as are the other five, even though they un-snapped? How does that all work out?
Sam Raimi, as the director, was bliss. I haven't read all the comments, but I haven't seen it in the early ones. Sam Raimi is a horror maven. His Evil Dead series is legendary. He likes to bring things from past movies into his current ones. In this case, it was Bruce Campbell. He was the hot dog vendor and Dr. Strange making him hit himself is an homage to the Evil Dead series where Bruce Campbell's hand comes to life and attacks him. Classic. Sam Raimi also did the first three Spiderman movies.
28:58 The pizza guy punching himself is Bruce Campbell. He and the director Sam Raimi have been friends since childhood. Campbell actually makes a cameo in every movie in Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy.
In x men comics, Scarlet, which was introduced as a mutin, is with the power reward realities Scarlet Witch is the daughter of Magneto, the mutant master of magnetism, and his wife Magda. Magda was a Romani woman who fled from Magneto due to his radical beliefs and actions. She sought refuge in the fictional country of Transia, where she gave birth to twins, Wanda and Pietro Maximoff (Quicksilver)
I’m sure someone’s mentioned this, but this movie was directed by Sam Raimi the Director of the original Spiderman films with Tobey Macguire. He started as a horror film director so that’s why this has some horror vibes. Also this movie is wayyyy over hated
The reason why the movie has horror element to it was because Sam Raimi, the director, was also the director of The Evil Dead films and he was given freedom to add his signature in the movie. The guy selling hotdogs, punching himself was Bruce Campbell who played Ash Williams in The Evil Dead movies. That scene where he can't control his hand, punching himself was a literal throwback to the films.

Sam Raimi directed this movie and he also directed the tobey maguire Spider-Man movies and directed the original evil dead movies. Charlize Theron is playing Clea. A character from the Dark Dimension. In the comics her Uncle is Dormmamu and she is a long time lover and eventually the wife of Doctor Strange. In fact, most recently she inherited the title of Earth’s Sorcerer Supreme after the (temporary) death of Stephen. Will you see America again? If the MCU continues on, she will most likely show up in The Young Avengers. They have already set up Kate Bishop as Hawkeye, Billy and Tommy Maximoff (Wanda’s kids) eventually become Wiccan and Speed, Cassie Lang becomes Stature. The pieces are obviously in place if they choose to go in that direction.
I nearly walked out of the theatre when they killed off Black Bolt. I already want enjoying the movie that much and when they killed one of the strongest characters in all of Marvel comics with a dumb joke, I was over it. I was also very disappointed because Marvel said that this was going to be a horror movie and then after it came out, they said that they never said that. As a horror fan who was really excited about the idea of a Marvel horror movie, that made me mad. wanda is in no way selfish, she lost everyone and everything. she just wanted her kids back. also, the darkhold kinda alters ur mind. that’s why doctor strange said “wanda has the darkhold and the darkhold has her”. in the end she finally realized what it was doing to her.
That “know that they’ll be loved” hurts every time.
Raimi did a good job.
I feel like black bolt was done dirty, but the rest was pretty good
@@Enter_Zoneless Blame Reed for that. LOL!
@@tuffs4itFr he called him out, but to be fair I wouldn’t have expected her to be able to remove his mouth💀😭
Loved seeing Wanda go so OP and do what she had to do, although her ending was so sad :( she just wanted to be happy for ONCE!
Lots of characters in the MCU get screwed over, but Wanda got screwed over *so* many times, you just wanted her to get a bit of happiness for a while.

This movie was made my Sam Raimi, and they let him do his horror, campy style, which i really loved. Some people can find some of it to be a bit silly, but I like that it's unique!
I really hope they let him direct the Secret Wars and Kang's Dynasty!
Huge fan of Raimi and letting him run loose on this was a blast!
But who knows.
just bc the staff says she dead doesn't mean anything.. WE ARE GOING TO SEE HER BACK
new footage of agatha's show was released and they show a photo of them in what could possibly be the witches road, if she's dead it wont be for long.
@@scarletsoulss like I said who knows. But I hope she will be back because she is now an S Tier MCU character. Plus I wanna see her fight Kang.
AND he never watched WandaVision which is why it felt so random swing Wanda like this smh 🤦🏽♀️
Even in the comics her chaos magic isn't just under her control ( and sometimes not) but it protects her even against her will.
theres rumors for deadpool 3 that we will see 838 wanda appear and wanda might come back in agatha darkhold diaries
This was a campy Rami horror movie and i love it so much
To each their own
Shut up @@Andy-Bodhi
Fox has just been rushing F4 movies whenever the license is about to run out to maintain the contract.
It was an Easter egg at best. It wasn't meant to introduce who he was. It was fan service
yep

Agreed, Raimi's style was great for this kind of movie.

24:42 Remember in the first movie when Strange grabbed that thing and held it, and Caecilius said, “You don’t know how to use that, do you?”
We’ll see. But whenever you don’t see the villain dies there’s always a question mark.
@@tahirahshabazz50 its said that we will see the 838 version of her in deadpool 3 later this year and this version of her comeback in agathas show later on

I think Wakanda Forever is way more of a mess than this one. That one seems to spend half the time selling other projects.

Strange is definitely a hypocrite. He’s always breaking rules and uses excuses as to why he’s doing it but everyone else is bad.
That's the thing about Wanda, she may be a very intense character who is seemingly in perpetual suffering but she doesn't lie about what she sees. And Strange is clearly unhappy with how Christine is not with him, and did clearly break the rules about the Time stone, even if it was for a greater purpose.
"Wanda and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Mother's Day"
1. Wanda was possessed by the Darkhold (end credit of WandaVision), hence why she was “evil” in this film. The Darkhold possesses anyone who uses it
2. She is not dead. The flash of red light was her chaos magic transporting her someplace safe. Marvel wouldn’t get rid of such a beloved character before she could reach her full character arc (which spans decades in the comics btw 60s to now)
She will be back, and will continue on for years
I thought the red flash was her power discharging as she got crushed. That said, I don't really believe she's dead.

Charlize Theron is playing a character called Clea. In the comics, she is from the Dark Dimension. That is where Stephan & her went to at the end.
I don’t think she died. Marvel shouldn’t lose a popular character. There’s still story to tell of her redemption.
Classic. This and Spiderman No Way Home makes me baffled when people complain Marvel doesn't make great movies anymore

Superhuman strength, speed, and durability
Longevity / decelerated aging
Hyper-cosmic awareness
Inter-dimensional travel
